Why Should I Find Rares and Treasures in Zereth Mortis?

Rares are a good daily source of and - These are used for the Cypher of the First Ones system and to fuel the Creation Catalyst/Legendary crafting.
In addition to this, killing rares in Zereth Mortis also grant reputation with - 10 to 15 reputation per rare per day.

To obtain the Aurelid Lure, fish a (low drop chance) from the pool Hirukon is standing at, then bring it to in Maldraxxus. Vashj will tell you she can craft the special lure by getting her more fish:

can be fished in a Pungent Blobfish Cluster inside the Coilfang Reservoir in Zangarmarsh.
is initially fished in a Flipper Fish School in Zin-Azshari, Nazjatar - Once you fish one, it'll slip from your inventory and you must loot it as it flops around to obtain the fish.
is looted from a balcony in Nar'shola Terrace in Vashj'ir, on the second level of the runs. It's extremely hard to see, as it is a green vine on top of a green graphic.

Once you have all items, bring them back to Vashj for her to craft the lure. With the lure in hand, return to Hirukon's spot in Zereth Mortis and use it, you will see an Aurelid Cluster that wasn't there beforehand. FIsh at the cluster and Hirukon will emerge.

Rare is initially flying high in the air and unattackable. To trigger the rare, aggro nearby and let them cast on you. Once Paralytic Sting reaches 20 stacks, you will become for 6 seconds, and the rare will fly down to attack you.

Located inside a cave. Kill the two elites channeling at the rare to trigger it. Both Elites and Rare have a big health pool, making this tough to solo. Dodge and .

Rare has a chance to spawn each time an Annelid mob is killed in the surrounding spawn area. Rare is actually three mobs that share a health pool. Easily killed with AOE attacks. Burrows at 50%, dodge and interrupt .

Located atop a broken pillar in the Cradle of Nascence. Can be reached either with flying, or by climbing to the top of the Cradle of Nascence entrance and gliding from there to reach it.

Treasure is located at the very top of an orb structure. Can be reached with flying or by performing a series of jumps.

Located inside a locked area in Endless Sands. Requires fully researching the Cypher of the First Ones talent to gain access to the questline to unlock the Protoform Synthesis system (started with ). The chest is first accessible during the quest . However, the chest will remain locked during that quest, saying it requires an Architect to unlock it.

To unlock the chest, finish the questline up to , then return to Exile's Grace on the next daily reset to start the quest . This short questline will attune you to the Protoform Synthesis system and unlock the chest, as you will be then deemed an Architect.

Treasure is initially buried under some rubble. To reach the treasure, find the located at the pillar where the treasure is crushed under, loot the , and trade it with the nearby Automa for a . Use the Jiro Hammer to break down the rubble and gain access to the treasure.

Located atop a waterfall near the entrance to Exile's Hollow. Can be reached with flying or by performing a series of jumps starting by the ledge to the right of the Exile's Hollow translocator.

Located inside the cave in Dimensional Falls, under the . To make the chicken move, locate 5 scattered across Zereth Mortis and bring them to her.

Requires fully researching the Cypher talent+ to give Pocopoc the ability to temporarily control coreless creatures.

Once the trait is fully researched, go to the area and have Pocopoc take control of the nearby . Move closer to the treasure and Pocopoc will dive in to retrieve the treasure for you.

Located atop a broken pillar in the Resonant Peaks. Can be reached with flying or after unlocking the Resonant Peaks teleporters during Chapter 6 of the 9.2 Campaign.

If using the teleporters, the closest recommended location is Secundus Locus, you will spawn next to the treasure - Just glide down to reach it.

Located atop a very tall cliff. Can be reached with flying, or a series of teleports with a Warlock's or a Venthyr's .

Located atop the entrance to Geometric Cavern in Haven. Can be reached with flying or by climbing the entrance to the Slumbering Vault and following the cliffs to reach the treasure.

Treasure is only accessible with flying. The treasure area contains several Agitated creatures, approach and pet all of them to spawn the treasure.

52.6 71.6

Located within a nest atop a giant sphere. Can be reached with flying, or climbing the mountain near the sphere. From there, glide to the treasure.

77.5 58.2

Located inside a cave within the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid area. Can only be reached after completing Chapter 4 of the 9.2 Campaign and unlocking the translocator to the raid area. Requires locating 6 rune-adorned pillars and obtaining 6 stacks of to unlock the treasure.

63.6 73.6

Located inside one of the caves within the Untamed Verdure (cave is named Blooming Foundry). Requires fully researching the Cypher of the First Ones trait to unlock the questline that grants access to the Blooming Foundry (starts with ).

Once inside the Blooming Foundry, the treasure is located at the very end of a narrow corridor. To ripen the treasure, collect scattered around the Foundry and bring them to the Pear. Repeat 5 times to ripen the treasure.

49.6 77.8

Located inside a cave overlooking the Dimensional Falls area (cave is named Catalyst Wards). To enter the cave, destroy the blocking and interact with the nearby to unlock the entrance.

Inside the cave, the treasure is located at the top level of the main room, and you will need to unlock a teleporter within the Wards to reach the treasure. The teleporter is located within the northern room of the cave, just climb the ramp to the right of you as you enter the Catalyst Wards. Find the four Teleporter Locks to unlock the teleporter and reach the treasure:

Outside the entrance, at an alcove behind the Catalyst Wards Lock and covered by ;
In the eastern room of the cave between two entrances, covered by foliage;
In the western room of the cave, right in the middle, covered by ;
In the southern room of the cave, at the southern end, covered by .

47.5 94.4

Located inside a locked building in the Catalyst Gardens. To unlock the building, go to the main pool of the Catalyst Gardens and kill , each killed Servitor will give you for 40 seconds. Obtain 5 stacks of Creation Catalyst Overcharge and run to the building to unlock it and obtain the treasure.

The front page's "NOTABLE ZERETH MORTIS RARES" has already been wrong twice in a row. Also a list of rares NOT spawning on a given day is probably more useful than a list of rares that ARE spawning. Thanks! :)

Helmix is available everyday, it just needs to be force spawned by killing the worms in the area (possibly?), but definitely the single worm at it's spawn point. I've killed it 7 days in a row now.
