Byproduct when combining Hoki des flots noirs, fished from Banc de hokis des flots noirs in Talador (NOT Spires of Arak, as some quests may indicate). Quest item. Fishing page indicates these fishing pools are also in your garrison, but you will need to complete Le hoki des flots noirs (Horde) or Le hoki des flots noirs (Alliance) before you can do any fancy fishing at your (level 2+) hut.

Your Fishing skill determines which size fish you're more likely to get - ex.: with lower skill in Fishing, you are more likely to get Petit hoki des flots noirs from Banc de hokis des flots noirs.

So...
5x Petit hoki des flots noirs OR 5x Hoki des flots noirs OR 5x Hoki des flots noirs énorme will produce varying quantities of meat (Chair de hoki des flots noirs) and eggs. If you have more than 10 eggs when you go to turn in the quest, the questgiver will take all of the eggs in your bags. You can bypass this by putting the rest in your bank, or mailing to an alt for safe keeping or their own turn-ins. (This was later patched. Eggs now give credit without being a bag item. Any old eggs you had saved before this was patched were not removed from your bank, etc., but new eggs cannot be saved for later.)

Fishing skill determines what size of fish you get. Skill also determines how much Chair de hoki des flots noirs, and how many of these eggs you get when filleting. So use lures or other Pêche gear while fishing (to catch more Hoki des flots noirs énorme (and thus reduce the number of fish you need to catch (and maybe work on Hameçonneur de hokis des flots noirs))), but also when filleting.

Bait determines what type of fish you get when fishing in open water (not pools). So use Appât à hokis des flots noirs, or keep hunting for pools, or do neither and just fish for longer (while you catch lots of Crescent Saberfish). But that would be silly because you'll catch some bait pretty quickly.

Save your extra fish eggs: before complete the daily fishing quest, you can mail the extra eggs to your alts, they can also use it for the quest, or just sell the extra eggs to the vendor, after completting the quest you can buy it back.

You can no longer sell these on the auction house as of Feb 24/15 as they are a "quest item" which can't be sold.
