The tooltip says 640, but I just now used it on my 630 stage 1 staff, and it became 645 instead.

Maybe there was a hotfix to increase the item level boost?
Maybe it can get a random level upgrade like quest rewards can?

(Btw, my Inscription is only 656/700).

I misread that this item is intended for an "Inscription-crafted weapon" and used it on my Skull of War trinket, thinking this was the item used for trinkets. It in fact did work on my trinket, however, when trying to use a Molten Tarot to upgrade it to level 3, I received an error "That item cannot be modified." I put in a ticket inquiring as to why the Molten Tarot won't let me upgrade and in short a GM responded that it is a known bug and will be fixed, returned the Mystical Crystal and my level 1 Skull of War. So in theory, you can use a Mystical Crystal and a Glorious Crystal to upgrade your trinkets (which may also be less expensive than the tarots) however you cannot use a tarot and a crystal in either combination to get your trinket to level 3.

Apparently at some point the Tarot ensorcelé instable was updated to include upgrading off-hands. Which seems kind of silly since off-hands are more closely related to weapons than trinkets, but whatever. I just created an escorcelled tarot and used it on my 630 offhand and it upgraded it to a 645 (still rare) off-hand! So don't be put off by the fact that the description reads "upgrades a 640 item".

This DOES not upgrade offhands such as the Shadowtome, I have had this confirmed by a GM as of 05/03/2015. To upgrade those, we must use the Tarot ensorcelé instable.

If possible, can the Shadowtome entry be removed from the upgrades page, as it is incorrect. (The GM I spoke to checked Wowhead before she responded to me and identified it as incorrect in her message).
