alright i tried searching the forums and it just keeps sending me back here for some reason... anyway, what's the deal with these? i see people in trade chat trying to buy them all up and on our server they seem to be posted up on AH for a lot of gold. Are they actually going to become usable at a later date?

I had an interesting conversation with another player that may shed some light on this item. When people sell gold for real money they post the grey junk item on the AH for the agreed upon amount of gold. It's considered safe because it's not something that any rational person would spend 40K gold on. I'm not sure why they don't just send the gold through the mail, but maybe that makes it easier to get caught. Real money trading is a banworthy offense.

Take this for what's worth. I can't verify the accuracy, but I thought this was worth sharing.

I just sold one in the AH today for 10,000 gold! I just put in up there for the heck of it to see what would happen. Now I'm thinking I should have asked for 20k!
