In Beta you are able to get these at your Tannery.
Some of them are Alliance only others are Horde only.

Since they are BoA you can send them to all your chars if you like!

How does the "rested EXP for 1 hour" work? Is my character treated as if she were rested for the next 60 minutes, regardless of how many mobs I kill? Or do I only get an amount of EXP comparable to spending 1 hour in an inn (which could be far less than 1 hour's worth of gameplay questing/killing mobs)?

Also, depending on the above, how does it work if my character currently is somewhat well-rested?

Finally, is the buff 1 hour of gameplay or 1 hour of time (e.g. the Deserter debuff being 30 minutes of time, even if you aren't playing that toon during that time)?

The real question is would this act like an inn, where you can log out instantly on the fly as opposed to having to wait 20 seconds to log out / exit game? That'd make switching alts mid questing to mail something important over much easier

You should be aware that they are a ONE TIME USE item. Cannot be sold at AH it's account bound. I just wanted to see what it would look like and used up 25 raw hide leather to test it out. Guess I should make sure I go play for an hour to get some use from my buff.
And once you step out of the tent it disappears.

Some information about tents:

The level 2 tannery With a leatherworking follower attached to it grants the ability to buy these for free.

You can only have 5 of any one type of tent at a time, but you can carry 5 of every type of tent.

Each tent type has a separate cooldown, so you can place more than one type of tent down at a time.

The tents last for 5 minutes, with a 5 minute cooldown.

The person who sets the tent down seems to effect if you can get the rested state from the tent, meaning if you are sitting inside someone's tent and they log off, you no longer receive the rested state, and cannot immediately log out.

I invited a friend into a group, and she was able to visit my garrison and buy the tents from the 'vendor'.

This tent can only be bought on an Alliance toon, but it can be send to and used by a horde toon on your account.
