I found this by killing Porc-épic fumé in The Jade Forest. But I'd guess that any porcupine in Pandaria would work.

Farmed around 30 minutes of Porc-épic dos-épineux and got one book. Was farming with two other mages, in total we got 3 books for 30 minutes of killing (around 300-400 mobs), the best spot we found was at Terres de l’Angoisse farming Porc-épic dos-épineux.

After killing 238 Porc-épic des plaines in Kun-Lai, I officially give up. Either the drop rate is extremely low, I'm incredibly unlucky, or that particular porcupine doesn't drop this item.

Edit: Switched NPCs to Porc-épic fumé and got one within 12 kills. I suggest going for those instead.

I first farmed needleback porcupines, killed about 100 of them, no drops, switched to smoky porcupines, got the tome on my 40th one.

This is one of the Mage Class Books that existed long before Legion, though many new Class Books have been added since Legion's pre-patch. These Class Books have similar effects to traditional glyph's. This puts a new Ability in your Spellbook.

Took me like 350 kills at Summits, then went to Jade forest for smoky porcupines, did 400 of those. Gave up, next day I did 80 kills of smoky and got one. Took a long time for this tome.

Tome dropped for me on the third Needleback Porcupine I killed in Dread Wastes.

Dropped from the Smokies in Jade Forest after about 138 mobs. A relatively relaxed area to farm for the tome, no other mages, and just a couple of random hunters taming Hutia.

I killed Smoky Porcupines in Jade Forest for about 30 mins and got 2 tomes.

Not sure if I'm lucky or the drop rate is high.

Killed over 500 porcupines in the Jade Forest so far, nothing.
Over 100 in dread wastes, nothing.
Tested the waters a bit in summit, nothing.

Killed 75 in Jade forest the next day and got it finally.

I killed probably 500 of them porcupines before getting my tome. Since there was no new comment in over a month and I was getting kinda desperate, I thought I'd at least confirm it can still drop.

Dropped after killing 14 Smoky Porcupines in the Jade Forest. Definitely recommend farming at Forest Heart! Good luck!

It's currently bugged and using the command /cast Polymorph(Porcupine) doesn't work.

Got mine today after around 57 kills (going by the number of Enormous Tooth in my bag) just north of Greenstone Village. Also got 15 Mote of Harmony, and 5 Green quality BoE items.

I use the addon AllTheThings and I noticed the porcupines in other zones did not include the Tome in the tooltip but the ones in Dread Wastes do and gave me the drop in the first 5 kills.

I got my first tome (farming to sell) at 261 kills on my kill tracker. Farmed in and around Forest Heart. I continued my counter and gave up farming a 2nd tome at 1,000 kills. Will reset counter for another day of farming.
Note the date and patch.

My guildie and I decided to farm for this Tome. First we went to the Jade Forest and farmed Porc-épic fumé for about 30 minutes with no luck.

We headed over to Dread Wastes and farmed Porc-épic dos-épineux. After 15 minutes, the Tome dropped for my guildie around 57, 71. We hung around for another 10 minutes and then decided to head out.

If you are farming in Dread Wastes, don't forget to check out some of the rares in that area.

We stopped by Lake of Stars to see if Nalash Verdantis was up. This rare can drop a nice pet Roseau creux which turns into Trotteur d’eau.

We also swung around to see if Porteguerre zandalari was up around 47, 61. No luck.

We did find the Eclaireur de guerre zandalari around 57, 66 and he dropped Petit sac de fournitures zandalari which contained: Minerai de trillium blanc and Minerai de trillium noir.

Farmed Needleback Porcupine in the Dread Wastes. Dropped after 380 kills.

I decided to farm Needleback Porcupine's for this in the southeast corner of Dread Wastes, got my Tome in just over 20 minutes. I had 108 Enormous Tooth and 7 Porcupine Quill so I figure that was 115 kills. In my opinion the best place to farm and I was doing it solo, also got a Strange Relic from a nearby Mistblade Ripper that happened to run into my arcane blast. I'd suggest making a /target Needleback macro (and perhaps add a spell to it), but that alone will make it easier. When you target a new one it'll make an icon on your minimap, which you may find helpful. Happy hunting :)

Confirming that it does still drop, and that you can still loot multiples. My first one took 371 kills, but my second one was 915.. I nearly gave up thinking they must have made it unique or something, but eventually it did drop.

Can you still farm this after you learned it? I went back later on my mage and farmed for a hour, but it never dropped. Made a trail char and it dropped in the first 20 kills. Not sure if it's unlucky or if you can't.
