My juwel-crafter just learned to craft juweled lockpicks and I came here to find out what these are good for.
Seemingly nothing since I also did not have or see a single Leystone Lockbox drop since release.

Edit: The hate is strong on this one, nice case of shooting the messenger. Note, the boxes did not drop at all before 7.1.5 and I got my first with 7.2.0.

Found one a few days back, contained 30-ish gold and Faronaar Chain Spaulders.

These seem to be a new drop with 7.1.5. Many of my btag mates and guildies have reported them dropping, and i myself have received a couple. So far nothing of note outside of the usual lockbox material, greens and some gold etc.

I just had one of these drop for me tonight while doing a mining quest in Suramar. It dropped from a Felslate Basilisk. Requires 550 lock picking to open. I was on a Paladin that has mining, first time seeing one the entire expansion.

Looted 5 boxes in 3 hours of farming nethershards. Looks like they drops in 7.2 much frequently. Never got a single one before 7.2.
I can't unlock them with rogue 110. They just ignoring my unlocking skill! Finally opened with Jeweled Lockpick.
Got about 40gold+green boe from each one. But one gift me BoE cloth pants 850 with a socket. (for 110 lvl)

Got one of these today and sent it to my level 103 rogue to open. She can't open it despite the level requirement being level 101. They apparently require lockpicking 550 and my rogue can only open up to skill level 515.

Edit: Ok, I bought a Jeweled Lockpick off the AH and used my Jewelcrafter to unlock the box, but she couldn't open it. I had to mail it *back* to my rogue, who could then open it. This seems like a ridiculous system. My JC can unlock it, but once unlocked, only my rogue could physically open it? *shakes head*

Rogues have 5 lockpicking skill per level, so a rogue has to be level 110 to open these. If that was not working in the past, it has since been fixed. My rogue opens these without issue.

These boxes seem like they have the ability to drop 810 relics for level 101. I got Mana en cristallisation 810 lvl 101 from a lockbox.

currently worth a lot of gold since they can drop BoE mythic tier epics around 865+ ilvl, so you better level a rogue to 110 just for these its worth it

The crowbar will open lock boxes upto skill 550.

On Stormrage US I had one guy buy 6 for 500G each(3000G total) and a different guy buy 2 for 250G each(500G total). Apparently these are worth opening yourself or at least en masse to hunt for BOEs.

Personally these seem not worth the effort unless you're a rogue.
Got six Coffret en telluriumes (post 7.2), each one had:
- one green item (req 110, ilvl 780), worth about 20g
- 40-50 gold

I get that you may occasionally loot something nice, but it's not clear the
odds of that are any better than just killing mobs on Broken Shore. Very
low drop rate either way.

But I guess it's fun to open the boxes and see ;-)

On my server there is pretty much a bidding war in trade chat of who buys them for most gold. People buying them for 750 gold. I'm curious what makes them worth so much.

So it turns out these were bugged before 7.2 and would just not drop at all. Weird that it took so long to activate them as they should have been.

You know, these lockboxes are really starting to irritate me. Several of my characters have them just piling up in their bank (those who don't have a high-level Rogue or Jewelcrafter alt that is).

The Blacksmiths can't make lockpicks any more; I don't know any Jewelcrafters or Rogues. So I guess it's time to throw them into the canal, eh?

If you don't have a rogue with 550 lockpicking skill, you need a Rossignol orné de joyaux crafted by Legion Jewelcrafters, but the lockpick only could be used by JC (1 JC skill needed)
