Ran a couple of random heroics with a Prot Paladin last night experimenting with it with some of his friends.

He.

Would.

Not.

Die!

The trinket is insane for tanking groups and holding aggro. Nothing we pulled - and we mass pulled a lot, and with a lot of AE damage flying around - could really touch him.

By the end, against a heroic / mythic geared mage and a 690 hunter (myself), he had done around 70k dps and about 40% of the overall damage over the two dungeons we ran.

As a Prot Paladin, this trinket was doing Crazy Amounts of damage when I was solo-tanking 5 Gorefiend Ambushers, my HpS was 120k and my DPS was 160k. Shame is sucks so bad in Timewalker and Challenge Mode.

I can also see (alike in other expansions where trinkets were had unusual effects) are test beds to be featured in the next expansion. That being said, Ashbringer would have an ability that would cause Crusader Strike and Hammer of the Righteous to have a Stacking damage buff that expires after 10secs or if the primary target changed when struck by one of those abilities.

Maybe it is obvious, but this Trinket also changing based on spec like tier sets.

The Holy version is the best in slot trinket, giving more healing to commonly used spells is great.
The Protection version gets better as it has a higher item level, since it will trigger more often and it does a lot of damage and healing.
The Retribution version is good if you are mostly targeting one mob, or are able to hit the mob with Crusader Strike.

I'm wondering, as a Ret, if there's a way to make a macro that lets me to always hit the same target with Crusader Strike to keep the buff up? I currently tried to make it like so

It works in the way that you need to have your focus set on the boss you want to keep the buff up with, and come to terms that as long as the boss is alive you can only cast Crusader Strike on him (which kinda is the point anyway). If there's a fight where you need to use CS on something else, don't set the boss in focus and maybe not use the trinket anyway.

For those who tank Timewalking:

The Libram proc Faveur du sauveur is nerfed to the ground. It does very little damage when you reach an absurdly low health pool (~5%). It's not worth using, and is basically like walking in to the instance with a trinket missing. As a suggestion, I strongly recommend you pick up a Bonus Armor trinket in place of it. You'll do more damage and be a little tougher. There are many available to you. ILVL is irrelevant since you are scaled down. So any Bonus Armor trinket will do.

HFC loot is an option, however there are more immediate sources available to get you going faster.

The easiest ways to obtain one is purchase from Timewalking vendors for 50 badges or buy (5000 Apexis) / loot a Bijou torve and create Ecu de pointéchine

Not sure if it's been said but for Protection Paladins, the heal provided can be a critical
I was just fightin Drakum and it healed me for 178,020 (critical)
and damaged him for 91,352
This was 2/2 upgraded, normal loot from Archimonde
When fighting regular mobs in Tanaan this hit each target for 90k and the damage caused in total will affect how much leech you receive
In this case my Leech (10.49%) healed me for 57k on top of the 90k already healed (147k total!)

Further Update:
After completing Mythic Shadowmoon Burial Grounds here is what I found:
Healing:
Min: 81.5k
Max: 97.5k
Crit: 184.5k

Damage:
Min: 86.1k
Max: 136k
Crit: 262.5k

This works in wPvP settings. I got crit for 176k by a prot pally camping in our factions tanaan hub. Was 735 pvp prot warrior at the time, so that was a bit of a surprise.

For anyone wondering, as of 7/29/16, this does NOT proc from Zeal. So if you want to enjoy the 10% damage bonus, you MUST take Fires of Justice or Greater Judgment.

I would guess that you need character below level 110 as trinket has requirement for that.
