This is dropped by Surveillant gangrené Tadboue, a new rare added in 6.2.1 to the uninstanced version of Hellfire Citadel. Players can access this area with flying if they go straight to the center of Tanaan Jungle.

Surveillant-chef Tadboue back in Shadowmoon Valley gave the quest Être surveillant : savoir faire les bons choix to construct a Botterang, and the followup daily quest Le botterang : un traitement pour les péons bons à rien to make your lazy peons work for Aile-du-Néant reputation. His Outland and Draenor versions are dressed identically, including the same whimsical hat and staff.

On the PTR, he's a rare with over 4 million HP with the Botterang ability, so it makes sense that he'd drop Botterang à bout cranté.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

The original Booterang was a great item because it would literally follow you as you flew around Outland. Many people made it a game to use the item and then try to complete the rest of the Netherwing dailies before it could catch up to you.

One day I lost track of the item and finished my daily quests there so I ported to Shattrath and went to Quel'danas to do my daily quests there. 10 minutes later from out of nowhere the booterang shows up. It had chased me all the way from Outland to Azeroth!

... The Description only PROVES that The Devs plan on releasing the next expansion before the end of the year. "Does not work on Targets above level 100." that wouldn't really be important or relevant unless the next expansion was right around the corner. or at least it seems that way to me.

So, are druids going to just fly around with this, knocking people off of flying mounts and then flipping into a bird? Mages with Slow fall. Hell I guess anyone with a glider can do this too.

This item is a drop by Surveillant gangrené Tadboue.
You can find him at the courtyard of Hellfire Citadel in Tanaan Jungle. He's guarding the main building's entrance.
Has 4,2 mil HP, spam-throw ranged opponents with Botterang. You have to be in melee ( <5 yd) range to counter this.
Botterang à bout cranté has only a chance to drop and it's quite far from 100%.
Similar to other Tanaan rares, you can have only one chance per day per character for the drop. Once you kill Mudlump, your character will be saved to the tracking quest: Mudlump for the rest of the day, even if the item was not dropped.
Daily kill lock lifts at 3AM as usual.

How to reach Mudlump without Guide de Draenor:

The easiest way is to simply jump into the courtyard from the rock right side of the portal entrance - located here. Otherwise, you can use items like Plume d'Aviana, Canon de Sombrelune, Chute de flammes or even Puits de gravité gnome which gets fixed in 6.2.2 finally.

Like with all the other new Tanaan rares (that drop Thrashin' Crashin' controllers) and Highmaul rares (that drop pets), this toy is personal loot and the mobs are open-tag so you can invite as many people along as you like without fear of loot ninjaing.

5 days and 5 kills into 6.2.2, I still have had no luck getting the boot to drop, nor have 2 of my hunter friends. My two paladin friends got the boot on the first attempt.

The boots are prejudice against hunters it seems.

Seems to only work on PVP-Flagged targets, and from opposite faction. Used it in ashran to dismount a fleeing warrior on my hunter.

It doesn't seems like anyone have commented on it yet, but this item has a cast time of about 0.5 second, (it doesn't say on the item itself either). Which means you can't use it while in mid-air. You have to stand somewhere pretty close to the target before it works, otherwise it will just dismount you and you will be the one who dies.. kinda ironic.
Though, if you successfully cast it and the target flies away, the 'shoe' will still follow the target like any other casted spell.

So to all you that thinks that druids are the 'master class' for this item, are wrong.

Just like the MoP version of this item, i wish it had at least way more range or a shorter cd, 15 mins is way too long :(

This is yet another item that should be a toy, but for some reason is not. The item with the identical effect from Pandaria (Carapace durcie) IS now a toy, but for some reason this one, again, with the EXACT same effect, merely a higher level range, is not. Blizzard still can't figure out and follow the rules for what is included on the toy tab and what is not, even when two items are identical.

Hopefully this is just an oversight and will be corrected in a patch, and not a case of the Banane magique or Chapeau de fruits hypnotisant, other items that are toys in function, but yet are not actually toys.

Carapace durcie par le sel is the Legion version of this item. It's a 100% chance drop off Carapace infernale in Broken Shore.

Doesn't look like it's working as of BfA. Tried to dismount a lvl 96 flagged Horde and it said 'Target is too high level.' Submitted a bug report just in case this change was not intended.

With the SL squish, it's now limited to lvl 49 targets and cannot be used by lvl 50s and upwards.

Blizzard, please explain why this has not mode the "toy" list yet?

Given a bunch of random stuff has already been added to the toy list, I don't see why so much other crap has to sit in my bank taking up space, instead of being a toy that any alt can get some use out of. Such items currently cluttering up my bank that should really be given toy status include:

Corrupted Primal Obelisk it's Draenor only anyway.
Carved Drinking Horn We have plenty of health toys, why not mana?
Obsidian Frostwolf Petroglyth Minor Rested XP Buff*
Flight Master's Whistle usable for known flight points
Oralius' Whispering Crystal tired of getting this on every alt.
Repurposed Fel Focuser same, BFA upgrade of above**.
Brawler's Bottomless Draenic Strength Potion. currently serves no purpose, but the free slot would be nice for when the Areana returns
Anti-Doom Broom what was this even for? lol
Blazing Sigil of Ordos currently a stack item, easily changable to a toy
Thunderlord Grapple Limited zone use but it's not a quest specific item.
Automated Critter Defense Cannon Seriously why do they not make this stuff as toys to begin with? Has 10 charges currently
Edwin Van Cleef Costume has a bunch of charges, has been given every Anniversary anyways.

And there we have enough crap that should be toys but aren't that are takeing up an entire Silkweave Satchel's worth of bank space. Please add them to the toy list Blizzard, give me my bag space back XD

*Found out checking it on Wowhead, I never got to use it. Dunno if it is a consumable, or reusable, but given it's only rested xp, it could work as a toy, I believeit only provides one bar anyway.
**For the price at the time (rep and a ton of currency), this should have been account wide anyway. I still use this in SL lol
