Dropped from the Duskwatch Orbitist, they also have the detector buff, so will unmask your Masquerade.

Don't give up even though this item is giving you trouble. There are 2 sections I found that 2 Orbitist are close together and if you hug a wall you aren't in danger of pulling extra. Also feed 5 mana to wretches in the area. You will get a nice HP buff.

On live it says that this item drops from the Duskwatch Shrouds. I already killed about 30 Shrouds and Orbitists and it seems that neither of them drops it.

Killed 41 orbitists and no drop. Got frustrated and left. Way too low a droprate for a quest item. Wondering if it's bugged or something..

It took me quite a few kills to get it but I can confirm it drops. (1-9-2016).

Some of the Orbitists don't have a quest notification on them for this item, so I only killed the Orbitists who did have the '0/1 Nightbourne Loupe' on their tooltip.

In total it took me around ~25 kills to get the item. Don't give up! :)

Only the female ones can drop it. if u look the males wont have the quest text on them but the females will.

So I MIGHT have found the way on how to actually get the Nightborne loupe.

I was basically doing the same thing like you guys , just running around in suramar and looking for these Duskwatch Orbitist and killing them , but obviously getting no Nightborne loupe.

blabla ill get straight to the solution.

So there is this house (screenshot) and in this house there also is a Duskwatch Orbitist , but for this one it says Nightborne loupe 0/1 and it doesn't for the others for me. After killing this npc I instantly got the item.

Just got it dropped from Duskwatch Shroud at 50.85, 84.60 (near the stairs) after killing like 10+ orbitists.

After farming multiple female Duskwatch Orbitists, including the one in the suggested house (which for me, was male), mine dropped off the Duskwatch Shrouds around 50, 84 just outside of the blue area it says the quest item is in on the map. If you mouse over them, both the male and female Duskwatch Shrouds drop the loupe. So be sure to try these guys while farming for the loupe, too!

Low drop rate, killed about 10. You can use(enter) baskets when you pull extra moobs(it reset agrro)

Just go kill a Duskwatch Shroud 1st time lucky. Just Wowhead quick where they are and bobs you uncle. I killed around 50 Orbitist with no luck.

It took me at least 45 mins of wandering and messing around with this quest to finally find it. There is a mess of do this, do that.

What I found is if you go for the orbitists which have the quest stated when you hover their name, they drop it. I saw the dot on my map and couldnt find it. I ran just passed the map button to a house and it had an orbitists in it with quest text and got it first try.

Took me about an hour, multiple deaths, and 30-40 Orbitists killed (lost track at 20). I found out from previous posts that Duskwatch Shrouds drop is much better, but the next Orbitist i fought dropped the Loupe, so i can't confirm. I'm a Rogue, so to all the non-stealth classes, I'm sorry.

I just completed this quest and as previous posts have said i got then drop from the orbist in the house, after spending an hour killing orbist mobs im thankful for these comments.

Dropped off a Duskwatch Orbitist at 50.4 78.3 which had a tool tip labeled for the quest.

I am a gamer from way back and stuborn. You know the kind of players who still have integrity. I believe in the the over 40 years of tradition that players should never have to go out of game for information is still valid. I have bent a little toward the cheating nature of this new generation who would probably go berzerk at a 3 week suspension for obtaining info on-line or a lifetime suspension for posting a walk-through.

I will after spending 3 or 4 hours working on a quest resort to going on-line for help. This quest certainly qualified.

This one was especially tough. I was probably killed at least 40 times. I would say that the mask reduced the chance of being killed by at least 75%.

This is the kind of quest is a total and serious violation of the gaming developers principals of creating quests which do not encourage or require players from seeking outside information.

I did get the loop from the one in the house mentioned upon my first kill.

Ya, this is really random. Just turn on your friendly name plates if you don't normally have them and try to safely pull and kill all of the Orbitists and Shrouds you see. It wasn't really that bad for me but I don't really have a problem staying safe from npc's in this area like some people seem to do.

Finally got it had to just keep killing the ones who drop it over and over. Took me about 10-20, real pain if you have Alliance or Horde in the area depending on which side you are on.
