These are obtained by using the Surveying spell from your Professions tab. They drop with Archaeology fragments when you 'loot' a site.

You will find that you need 40 pages to make a chapter and nine chapters to make the book. That's 360 pages. They drop about 1-2 per site. Some mobs drop several.

I had to do 9 digsites to get all the pages for the 9 chapters.
Digsites give between 33 and 37 pages each and if you encounter a wyrmtongue collector you get more.

Results from my digsites were:
#1 37 pages
#2 34 pages
#3 33 pages
#4 37 pages
#5 68 pages
#6 52 pages
# 7 36 pages
#8 54 pages
#9 the remaining 9 pages

After you hand in this quest, Brann wants you to go to Darkheart Thicket where you loot the 10th chapter from Shade of Xavius.

Here's a warning: do not delete extra pages when you have collected the book. It deletes the quest, your book and all your hours of hard work. *sits in a corner crying because that's exactly what I did*
