Apparemment, cet objet ne fourni aucun buff utile :

-N'empêche pas la chute de monture lorsqu'on est victime de l'effet Hébété
-N'augmente pas la vitesse de déplacement en monture (terrestre ou volante)
-N'ajoute pas d'effet visuel en monture (terrestre ou volante)

Cela peut tout de même avoir de bons côtés :

-Permet de consommer vos Soie Shal'dorei durement farmées
-Permet d'afficher une icône supplémentaire à votre barre de buffs
-Confirme l'hypothèse que les tailleurs n'ont pas grand chose de vraiment utile à craft :D

just guessing because nobody clariffied this, i suppose this may reduce falling damage because you are more confortable so it wont hurt you that much

I can at least confirm that this item doesn't reduce fall damage. Tested with my own butt from a great height.

There is also no cosmetic aspect to this item that I can see. I have tried this on a few different mounts.

I get a nice 8 hour buff though :3

Ok just confirmed that it is increased mount speed, thats all. Also info from reddit that confirmed this as well. Dont know how much % speed it increases but I guess it may be little %?

Whatever it does, the buff gets removed once you leave the Broken Isles. So things like porting to your main city or your garrison will remove it.

I tried to see if the saddle blanket allowed the other riding buffs (blacksmith/leatherworking) to extend to 8 hours if stacked.

I also tried to fall to my death mounted with this buff on - I died as usual.

Nope - no luck. So that's another couple of things off the list.

So I haven't done any testing of my own, but could this item perhaps allow the user to gain rested experience at a 50% rate? I saw another comment on here refer to a side script value of 50, and the tooltip implies the character's mount will be more comfortable, sort of like resting in a city?

Seems a lot of people are trying to figure out what effect this actually has, I'm strongly suspecting it's just a throwback to Semelles confortables from TBC.

Although it does seem odd that tailors would get a useless mount item while other professions actually get useful ones.

I just spoke with a GM regarding this and he said something seems to be missing on this item.. so clearly bugged right now and he promised me he would take it up with the Devs personally.

Edit: Ok now this is annoying i spoke with another GM today regarding Soul Fibril recipe being gone and mentioned if there were any news regarding the Bloodtotem saddle blanket and this is what he said regarding it.

Has anyone with a gathering. Prof tried mining or herbing with it? I was doing a world quest earlier and was able interact with the quest items while mounted, not sure if this was how it is normally or not, i didnt remove the buff to test it.

Does anyone else think the sound of hooves is quieter when using this item?

Doesn't seem to make a difference if you use it whilst mounted, but if you subsequently remount with the buff, It does seem like the sound of my Grove Warden's hooves is quieter.

Makes sense that this might be tied to flying in Broken Isles, i.e., maybe you need this to ride a Broken Isles-only flying mount, or faster flying, etc. If any of this is true, tailoring > all.

This item has been confirmed to NOT do the following things.

- Receive rested XP while using it with your mount.
- Help any other mount buff.
- Influence or adjust your mount in any way, speed/visual or otherwise.
- Allow you to do any actions on your mount that you normally could not.

In all likelihood, this item probably has a special interaction somewhere in the world, and that's why this recipe gives so many per craft. I assume the idea is the widely share the item on the server and have everyone constantly using them until someone figures out the interaction.

Blizzard GMs have confirmed MULTIPLE times that the item is not a joke haha item and the devs did add it in with a purpose. Just like the hidden artifact appearances this buff is related to something, as the aura gives your character +50 of "something" that isn't identified.

"But how can you be so sure"

THE BUFF IS KEPT ON DEATH. This clearly indicates that it is for something hidden and Blizzard WANTS us to find it. If you really want to know what this item does, just keep the buff on you at all times when you are leveling up alts or doing world quests and dungeons.

Still no solid idea what this does, but I did just read an old Reddit post from Beta that intimates it's a 20% mount speed buff. (Or perhaps 50 given the added side script value). What I'm wondering is might it only apply to flying in Broken Isles and thus the reason it's still a mystery.

I could be completely off here, but does it have anything to do with the bloodtotem / feltotem tribe in highmountain? Other than sharing a name with them obviously. Just curious if there's some weird interaction there perhaps?

A sad statement about this game that no one knows whether this is meant to do nothing, is a bug or what. Way too many bugs in this game, you never know what's a "feature" or a bug anymore.

And at the end of the day, if Blizz says it's a "feature", you never know whether to believe them or whether it's just another bug and they don't want to fix it.

It would be interesting if this item activates once you get flying, but only increases mount speed if you're on the ground, similar to the run speed you get at the bottom of the water areas.

I have a strong feeling that the Tapis de selle totem-de-sang was originally meant to apply the "interact while mounted in the Broken Isles" buff, but someone at Blizz-tard screwed up and stuck that on a second Blacksmithing item, the Étriers en démonium instead.

It makes sense, since that would have given each of the Armor-class Professions one Mount-related buff.

It probably should have been:

Blacksmithing => Plaques de sabot en tellurium => +20% Mount Speed
Leatherworking => Barde en cuir de peau-roche => Negate Daze/Dismount
Tailoring => Tapis de selle totem-de-sang => Interact While Mounted

April fools! :DI waited a long time to finally be able to learn this pattern and wasted a crap load of mats only to find out its useless LOL I was so excited when I finally maxed out Tailoring.That's my luck...Blizzard ! I can confirm that this issue still persists. There is no visual or physical change once applied. Is it really that difficult to fix

This whole patch has been a bit surreal for me with the weird differences between quests for various professions and classes. I have a blacksmith and a leatherworker who both got the mount buff recipes - neither were random drops, both were craftable at well below level 700. Pretty sure they were making these at 700. So this item is a random drop, not craftable until 800 and apparently does nothing.
My current theory is that all the workgroups at Blizzard were given tasks related to this expansion, locked in their rooms with not contact with each other, and they threw it all together just before release. Because that is what it feels like playing it...

This item Bloodtotem Saddle Blanket is insulting to those that pay $15 a month. There are many role play, lore items, etc in the game and even crafted ones. You can plainly tell by lore/rp text font or the item itself is grey/white and delegated as such. Considering there are similar items that are worth the time and materials with almost exact descriptions waste our time and effort.

I have played MMOrpgs for nearly 20 yrs now, and crafting is one of my loves of this genre. The ability to make something that you take into battle is very satisfying. Nothing wrong with a broken item, nothing wrong with even a useless item, but to waste your time by the developers not labeling as such just rude and not a way to keep a customers subscription money coming.

Guys remember there are other items that already do some stuff you are mentioning. These blankets almost for sure are tied to the Flying in the Isles, maybe making people attack while on mount (maybe while in ground mount, dunno, or even flying).

Only thing I can still think of, after reading all comments and tests, is that it increases the amount time you can mount indoors (you know the brief moment you are mounted while going thro door to building)

Also 7.2 will nerf the "comfortable" level by.. 20%? But what..why.

ALSO if you look at the item buff its flagged as.. guild perk?

Has anyone tried gathering while mounted? I'm a tailor/enchanter so I can make and equip this item, but I can't gather anything. Also, not sure if that is considered "interacting" or not so please don't hold it against me if it is the same thing! :D

Also, a lot of people seem to be saying it has no appearance, but I noticed that it does show up on some mounts (most notably my Azure Water Strider, you just have to adjust the camera to see it). It looks like a doily that should be hanging on the back of Grandma's armchair.

Normally when I jump off Dalaran's flight platform I take a bit of damage, now I do not. So I'm guessing it reduces fall damage in some way maybe? Gonna check from a higher point later to see what happens.

Eta: I do get damage from higher points, but it's definitely reduced.

FIGURED IT OUT PATCH 7.2

When you have the saddle blanket buff, any hidden chests you loot in the broken isles grant experience (8000xp at lvl 107)
tested on multiple chests that did not grant experience without the buff and always did with the buff on.

Alright, this item might not do anything useful, gameplay-wise. But remember that nothing is worse than saddle sores, and this blanket can prevent those.

Continuing their running joke, Blizzard's 7.2.5 patch notes include:

Bloodtotem Saddle Blanket comfort reduced by 50% to thwart the Burning Legion.

...because of course it was.

This will drop the spell scalar value on Tapis de selle totem-de-sang to 20 (down from 40 in 7.2 and 50 in 7.0).

My guess is that this item is building up to something useful. It probably had absolutely no effect at the start of Legion, but with each "nerf" they are probably slowly making it have an effect. The first change in 7.2 was probably too small to be noticed by most people, but this one is big enough that maybe we will finally find out what it does?

Or maybe it's a countdown and once the buff effect reaches 0 something will happen?

But really, Blizzard is probably just enjoying reminding tailors that they have nothing useful to craft this expansion.

Edit: More than a month into 7.2.5 and the value is still the same value it was in 7.2 (40), despite this patch note. Either Wowhead's data is wrong or Blizzard never actually bothered to adjust the spell scalar. So... who knows.

"What does it do?" you ask. Well let me tell you what it does!

It manages to trigger all players with the tailoring profession across the world, which helps break down language, religion and racial barriers in an effort to bring us all closer together as human beings so we will be encouraged to band together to loathe the Blizzard development team and see THEM as the enemy instead of each other.

Mission accomplished I'd say, well done Blizz, mighty humanitarians!

Side note: It also uses up 25 Shal'dorei Silk, which is transforming one resource into something else, which could be viewed as some form of 'recycling'.. so there's a "Keep the (virtual) world green" aspect to it too.

So all in all, hippies and hipsters around the world should rejoice at the news.

Good question! What does this item do? You were wise to seek our council. I can answer this question quickly and efficiently.

This particular tailoring item doesn't have any effect on the gameplay, it's what we'd call a "vanity item". Basically these are items that you can show off and are neat in a background-type way, but don't actually do anything outside of that. If you just want it because it's cool then the World is your oyster. But if not you can skip it and you won't lose out on anything. Party on! /salute

It makes your mount so comfy, that you get RESTED XP, comparable to being in an inn, whilst mounted.

Try it. Log out in the world somewhere mounted, with this puppy applied to your mount, and come back later.

I think this is related to Khadgar's comment when flying to Azuna the first time. "I prefer to use the Great Staff Atiesh's raven form. Nothing's worse than saddle sores." So we're one up on Khadgar, we don't get saddle sores, and don't get cravings to pluck eyeballs from corpses.

The purpose of this item is to take up space on your recipe list for tailoring to tailors cant say they got nothing. They got a completely worthless item they can waste mats on.
