I got lucky, after about 15 mobs or so, I got the pattern. So it does drop :)

The drop rate on this must have been increased in a patch recently. They have been flooding the market recently. Of course I didn't realize until after I had bought 2 at the old inflated price. 0.0

Took my level 84 warlock to Burning Steeps and killed anything with the "Thaurissan" title using the macro:

/cleartarget
/tar thaurissan
/stopmacro
/cast Bane of Agony
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 6)

In less than an hour I had 3 Cindercloth Cloak & 1 Cindercloth Pants pattern (along with assorted greens and rubbish).

Still drops as of 5.0.5, taking about 25 kills of Marchefeu de Thaurissan for me.

Took about 20 minutes of farming to get it. Dropped Patron : Cape en étoffe cendrée three times in that amount of time though.

Still confirmed - Farmed today for my tailor..took about 10 mins to drop with some greens and transmog grays that sell pretty well on the AH
