Killing mobs under the Sentinax ship rewards Balise du Sentinax cassée, Which starts the quest L’ombre du Sentinax Turn this in to Capitaine Ruysantos at Deliverance Point. You'll then be introduced to the various items you can buy with Nethershards.

It will cause 16 ticks of damage, 4 per second, each dealing 10% of your health as base damage, and will leave behind 3-4 objects that can be looted for 1 Sang de Sargeras. Yet to see it, but I assume they are clickable for other players and persist for a while and/or untill used by set number of players.
Damage dealt is reduced by Versality. Not like many people stack it, but it might help some survive it.
Needs over 37.5% damage reduction to survive (at current 160% max health), or way to heal more than 60% in one or two GCD (depending on whether using this item triggers GCD or not). Or combination of both. Or some kind of immunity. As long as one spec of class can do it, class is good to go.
EDIT: I'm hearing immunities do not work, sorry if following list got any of you killed. Due to random drop of this item it's kind of hard to test each possibility myself, so If you can confirm/deny any of them are working, it would be appreciated.
EDIT2: Apparently hotfix made it into proper, removable debuff, which means any immunities should work.

As of today (3/30/2017) Cloak of Shadows does not prevent damage from this ability.

Hopefully you're here before using the Sentinax Beacon of the Bloodstrike, unlike me. Maybe you can look up ways to survive before clicking it...

So, I misread this the first time it dropped for me. I thought, "cool, this drops bloods AND it does a hella ton of dps?" As a resto druid, I need all the dps help I can get.

No, no, no! This thing basically vaporizes you. The info on this page states that this "deals 160% of maximum health as Chaos damage over 4 sec," but the tooltip in the live patch deals 192%. I was also in the middle of fighting Skulgoloth when I used it, so I'm not sure if any of the other people around were able to pick up any bloods before I was able to run back to my body.

I looted another one that I'm afraid to use.

Only had two to test this out.

First use gave 3x lootables while the second one had 4x lootables. Each said lootable contained 1x Blood of Sargeras.

I can confirm that i use Displacer Beast ( flash spell druid) and i didnt get any damage. But you must be really fast....

Did this in a group with a few others. The crystal shards that drop can be looted by multiple people. They appear to follow the same rules as other nodes like ore, herbs, or ancient mana. When one person loots them, there's about 15 seconds for anyone else to loot them. If you're feeling generous, throw it up in the group finder and spread the love. I joined a group that used dozens of these for about 15 minutes, totaled almost 100 bloods for each person.

I used the item, hit iceblock. It spawned 3 "Blood of Sargeras" crystals which looted one blood each. Totally not worth the time or effort.

So I figured out a trick for if you want to gather these on multiple toons:
1) Group with someone to stay phased/sharded correctly. I made this mistake and lost a couple beacons.
2) Get both characters to the same location.
4) Use item on first toon.
4) Immediately launch another instance of the game (I used the Bnet app for instant launch/login).
5) Login on other character.
6) Harvest and profit.

Used this method and had a lot of success with about a dozen beacons. Also had a similar strat with the fast-harvest gloves for the profession ones (Balise de croissance gangrenée du Sentinax and Balise de pétrification du Sentinax).
