Killing mobs under the Sentinax ship rewards Balise du Sentinax cassée, Which starts the quest L’ombre du Sentinax Turn this in to Capitaine Ruysantos at Deliverance Point. You'll then be introduced to the various items you can buy with Nethershards.

It is not necessary to turn this quest in to get the beacon drops, or to kill demons to get it. Doing an unrelated daily where the Sentinax happened to be, collecting relics and killing lost souls for Brann Bronzebeard, I got the broken beacon off the first wailing soul I killed, and then people started summoning the portals. A screenshot wouldn't prove it because the icons are generic, but I currently have in my bags the broken beacon, and one each of Sentinax Beacon of Warbeasts, Carnage, Firestorm and two Domination, plus a blue one I used but don't remember the name of.

I've got a half dozen green beacons but not the quest dropping beacon. Hours of farming for it and nothing. Can't figure out why.
