Since 7.2.0, you can find random Caillou déchaussés scattered around the streets of Dalaran. They're incredibly tiny, which makes them easy to miss. Upon interacting with one, you'll get this item.

Looting a pebble will trigger another to spawn somewhere else in the city, meaning there will always be a pebble up at any given time.

What are they for? I've collected tons of them, and I don't see the purpose of these pebbles. Does anyone know why they are there or what they are for?

i just collected a few of these. After i picked up the 8th one i received 1 runescalekoi and 2 seerspine puffer (both giving me AP). I never left Dalaran to fish nor had i equipped the underlight angler. Proof: http://i.imgur.com/nOAlnD9.jpg

(Too) Obvious, but I took Gravillon around to see the Pebbles and tried to offer him one. Nothing.

These can be used to help Chien find his way from your garrison to Dalaran in the Broken Isles. I just figured this out thanks to a couple of tweet hints from @Muffinus (ty!).

How to get Dog to appear in Dalaran:

1. Find a Caillou from the streets of Dalaran. You only need one.
2. Take it to your garrison and show it to Dog there.
3. Dog will appear in the Dalaran pet shop from now on!

Our beloved favorite NPC Chien is now back with us in the Legion Expansion.
We first saw Chien during Mists of Pandaria after we completed the Perdu et esseulé quest and rescued the Chien perdu and Chien then sat on the Sunsong Ranch watching our crops.
Then we moved into our Warlords of Draenor Garrisons and then Chien sat waiting in the Jardin de simples Niveau 1

Now to the good part..

Chien is ready to come to Dalaran in the Broken Isles and for us to bring him there we need to run through Dalaran looking on the ground for a Caillou
Once we find the pebble we need to teleport to our WOD Garrisons and find Chien in the garden, speak to Chien and he will then show up in the Magical Menagerie in Dalaran(Legion).

Well, I have looked at all the pictures and video on this but not found one yet.
I have even tried a macro targeting pebble as I saw in Selse's imgur images they were raid targeted, which means they should be able to be targeted. The macro I used targeted the pebble and put a Diamond raid target on it.

,,,,,,, While writing this up I noticed in the highest rated post (and the ONLY POST to do so) said that the item we are ACTUALLY looking for is Caillou déchaussé, NOT Caillou itself. So I am adjusting my macro to target Caillou déchaussé.

So am leaving this here open while I go test my edited macro…

Well, not sure what is going on… have made ten passes around Dalaran according to the maps, videos and imgur images and no luck seeing or targeting them.

The Caillou déchaussé are notoriously difficult to see. I recommend Élixir Brouillecaboche to shrink you right down in size, a gnome toon, zoom right in, and my Loose Pebble AddOn from Curse or WoW Interface. They are that difficult to see!

You only need the one, unless you want to have a bit of fun throwing them at other players of your faction. And grinding Laboureurs reputation to 12600/21000 so you can even get this far is a whole different story!

These do NOT stack in your bags
Are only found on the red paving stones
Respawn instantly/extremely fast
Will often be rapidly farmed more out of curiosity than intent
Ten locations
Several are in high traffic areas, such as out the front of the faction enclaves

So that you do not need an AddOn I have submitted screenshots of all ten pebbles, depicting quite a wide angle (no other players and no UI visible), to Wowhead. Thankfully two of these were deemed to be of sufficient quality.

(Yeah, I have an addOn to help with The Tillers dirt mounds too at Curse and WoW Interface)

Note that you need to get Dog from Pandaria first - then you need to show him the Pebble in your WoD Garrison (he is by the herb garden)

Okay... maybe I missed it. These are hard to find. I have an addon that showed where they are on the mini-map but it's like herb or ore maps... they may or may not be there. When they are there, they aren't too hard to spot. I will add a screenshot with max camera zoom.

very hard to find - especially with everyone else looking for them...but once I found one I found four more right away...zoom in really close and look straight down...hurts the eyes but they are there

If you throw the pebble by using it, you've wasted your pebble.

You need to speak to dog and give it to him by selecting the dialog.

What's the point of this? I spoke to dog after getting it from Legion Dalaran and nothing happened, just some dialogue. So afterwards I threw it to him. Still nothing

Well my friend told me about this Pebble, so I spent a couple hours scouring the streets of Dalaran (Broken Isles) and found there are 10 spawn points... they are, in order going clockwise around the city, starting at GreyFang's Enclave, in front of the entrance at /way 41.15 54.34 ... next
Under the sign for Wonder Works at /way 42.92 43.34 ... next
In front of Like CLockwork at /way 37.95 29.09 ... next
in front of Tanks for Everything on the side with the well at /way 47.58 28.63 ... next
in Antonidas Memorial (by the Horde side bank) at /way 44 17.5 ... next
by the manhole in front of the Horde section at /way 54.22 40.51 ... next
in front of the Violet Hold, across the street at /way 54.93 52.52 ... next
in front of Arsenal Absolute at /way 52.04 61.94 ... next
in front of Langrom's Leather & Links at /way 49.09 70.54 ... and lastly
to the right of the entrance to where you go to use the pedestal that sends you up or down, not sure which it is, but it is there,
across from GreyFang's Enclave at /way 46.6 53.54

I hope this helps you get your own Pebble to bring Dog to Dalaran from your Garrison.
