Would love to see items like these have some flavor added to them.
i.e. We find this mask and it's a decently low drop rate (~20%). Upon looting it we receive a quest that explains that this mask might be familiar to someone in the Archaeological field. It takes us to our major city and we find out that it belonged to an old troll chieftain and if we go repair it at the location of his old tribe in somewhere like The Hinterlands, then the ghost of the chieftain thanks for returning his mask to him and rewards us with the location of his tribe's hidden treasure cache nearby. We solve a puzzle on a map-like UI and go loot the treasure (a transmog item, a toy, a pet, etc.). This type of simple story which takes players back into the older areas could be added ALL over the game using grey items like this or others.

Just a thought.
