This item leads you to meeting Olly, the shady smuggler of pets from the Alliance. Olly is my new friend, as of today.

To unlock the ability to buy the other faction's pets from him, you first need to complete a mission at your mission board. This mission is tied to a quest which is started this item, the Shady Message. I obtained this item randomly after I won a PVP pet battle through the find battle queue. I don't know whether you can receive it through other pet-related means, but that's how I got mine.

So at this stage, I'd recommend winning PVP pet battles to try and get access to Olly., the Pet Smuggler.

Beware that the mission you receive is on a 8h expire timer!
I have to get annother one when my "followers" return from their 11h and 17h missions...

Edit: when I logged into the game a day later I still had the mission and it still said it would expire in 07:58.

Got it after 5ish PvP pet battle wins which took me 10-13 or so games.

Anyone know of a trick to get this to drop beyond just RNG during pvp pet battles? If that's the answer, that's fine. But I've now played probably 2 dozen pvp battles and won maybe 10-15 and no luck so far. Just wanted to see if anyone could verify or deny that it is, in fact, just bad luck on my part.

I received this item today around my 6th pet battle. I learned it so it would show up on my mission board later, then continued on with my pet battles. The next battle that I won gave me another one of these. I guess it's unique until you learn it. Tried to learn it again after putting champions for the quest but says you already have that mission. I'm assuming we are deleting the duplicate.

Update: I ran the mission a second time for experimental purposes. I received item Résultats d’enquête and pop-up quest didn't show-up (since I already unlocked the pet seller) so it's a waste of resources, FYI. Feel free to delete.

It took me about 30 PVP pet battle wins to get this. Consider doing Dresseur des familles and/or Dresseur de mascottes impitoyable to not feel frustrated while farming this.

Did use 3 round at horde for Horde message, and 2 round at alliance for this one

I can confirm that with a team of a lvl 7, and 2 lvl 1 pets facing a team of a lvl 6, and 2 lvl 1 pets you can receive the Shady Message. I have two accounts and queued at the same time and was literally head to head with myself. Just passed every time on the one account and it took about 7 to 9 battles to receive the item.

if you want to visit Olly on other characters you will need a letter for each as it's not account bound.

Has anyone received this outside of a BfA zone? I've gotten a good 50+ PvP pet battles wins in Outland while camping some spawn, not getting this. Four (4!) battles on Kul Tiras and I got it.
Coincidence? I think not.

At least something to keep in mind if you're being unlucky.

I got mine after 4 PVP wins. The quest appears in your bag.

It took me 29 wins to drop. The mission has a 20 day expiry.

Drop rate seems increased as of 8.3.
Got one on my 2nd find pet battle ever and one on my 4th.

Apparently you can still get this in Shadowlands.
I just picked it up after about 30 pet battles.

Fo anyone getting this in Shadowlands(Patch 9.0.2) and confused, this is a BFA item, so go to your BFA mission table for the mission.

I got this today twice in a row for two pvp battle wins on an alt who hadn't unlocked the vendor. I believe this was the first time I've ever queue'd on this toon before. I queued from Oribos, so you don't have to be in a BFA zone to get this!

The replies don't state it specifically but this quest is a mission for your BFA table titled A Shady Character.

I don't know why but it seems to me that as much complaining that goes into the point how many battles it takes to get this drop then you must run a mission at mission table but yet in these well over 20 responses not one person list what the heck this mission on the mission tables name would be and then as you progress reading then there is possibly a timer restriction as well and addition it's shadowlands heck of a long time down the line of back tracking too accomplish things missed in past but you

would think that many responses too complaining of any thing near useful seeking help too what this mission is needed to progress in the chain of the quest line to upgrade my menagerie for all intentions pre texting self worth of why i was doing

so if anyone knows the name mission on mission table i need too complete it would be very much appreciated
