Mécagelée caustique is located in Crumbling Cavern Mechagon.
This rare requires Drill Rig construction projects to be active.
Complete Drill Rig DR-CC73 project and after 1 minute enter the cave. Rare is inside.
Drill Rig DR-CC73 one is located south of the small water lake in the middle of the zone, north of the Outflow area.

Mécagelée caustique Shares spawn time(30 mins-1 hr) with Croque-écrou gavé and Le Cleptoboss
All 3 have an equal chance of appearing.

This is so stupid, for me it seems always Croque-écrou gavé and Le Cleptoboss spawn ... i just never see Mécagelée caustique spawning and with a 30-60 minute spawn time it is close to impossible to see this one spawning. I was hop around the Island once for 5 hours and i not seen Mécagelée caustique once! And the best is, i came to the island on my Hunter today, just to farm Paol Pêchemare for Zappeur supervolt and of course Mécagelée caustique spawns and drops the 2 Blueprints! .....

Drop rate can't be 28%... been farming this for a while, currently at 10+ kills. One of the hardest blueprints, as it requires TRIPLE RNG, absolutely insane:
1. RNG to have drill rig day available. You need to go to mechagon to see if it's the case, not like dailies that show on map anywhere you are...
2. RNG to have the specific Rig spawned... you can wait 3-4 hours even. This is the most boring and annoying part.
3. RNG to have it actually drop. I suspect a 10% or less chance.
I want to get rid of this so badly, as I only need 2 more blueprints for the entire meta, and have all vinyls and paints, quests, kills etc done.

Looks bug ... or mayb drop changed to 1% or lower...

About 30 tries or more, in weeks of farming and 0 drops...

The droprate on this item is much lower than the posted 27% but there is no limit to how many times you can kill the Caustic Mechaslime. It will spawn at least 3 times during the Drill Rig CC73 event.

They either greatly nerfed the drop rate of this item (1% or even lower) at some point or there really is a bug that is preventing it from dropping.

65 Kills so far and the blueprint - with a supposed drop of rate of ~27% has not yet dropped. Meanwhile, I have gotten four punch cards (one at 23rd, 24th, 47th, 52nd kill respectively) which supposedly only have a chance to drop of 0.9%. I know random is random and all that but given that the punch cards remain somewhat rare (as indicated by the calculated drop rate on Wowhead) while the blueprint has become extremely elusive it feels like something certainly changed.

To add a bit more info on respawns and timers:

- As others have already pointed out, the corresponding drill rig shares a cave with two others, they all seem to have an equal rate of appearing
- So far I have only seen the drill rigs spawn after 30, 50 and 60 minutes - from the moment in time the last one was activated. Sample size is low, however.[
- The NPC that (at least in theory) drops this item has a respawn timer of 1 minute. That means it can be killed and looted up to five times in a single drill rig "session" if you are quick enough. I suggest charging into the cave the moment it is opened and bursting the NPC as quickly as you can. If you are not the only person, hurry and just spam a quick attack to get a tag in - especially as a caster.

This blueprint is not dropping anymore. I have seen several people for the past months trying to get it everyday and killing the mob multiple times a day (now it can be looted multiple times a day, not like the other rares) and it is not dropping anymore. It is probably broken since the last patches. So sad because this is the last thing that a lot of people need to finish Mecha-Done.

You can still loot the boss multiple times (while the cave is still up) and get this blueprint. It dropped for me on the second kill.

Perhaps somebody will still find it useful - I got this on a same-day rekill of Caustic Mechaslime or whatever.
