By fighting in the Epic Battleground Vallée d’Alterac, you get reputation with either the Garde Foudrepique or the Clan Loup-de-Givre.

At Neutral level with your faction, you get a quest to retrive an important item from the Montrer sa valeur / Montrer sa valeur and learn that winning in Alterac is pretty much like cooking your favorite meal L'artichaut Loup-de-givre / Peler l'oignon.

As you progress through the reputation levels and ranks of your faction, your efforts would be recognizable by different insignias that you can wear in your trinket slot.

All insignias (even from Rank 1) give you the on-use effect to teleport back to your main base in Alterac (Dun Baldar or Frostwolf Keep). This saves a lot of time by walking to either of those places.

As a result, this Toy is very likely to be linked to reaching Exalted status with Garde Foudrepique or the Clan Loup-de-Givre. Also, it might shift the way Alterac is played, since it becomes way easier to use the teleports and to defend or delay a push in to the king.

This item can be purchased within the Alterac Valley battleground from Prospectrice Taillepierre during the preparation stage. The Horde equivalent, Insigne loup-de-givre can be purchased from Voggah Mortepoigne. It does not require any rep, is free, and purchasing one will unlock the the other.

La bataille d’Alterac may be a prerequisite for unlocking Prospectrice Taillepierre as a vendor.

Those who don't happen to enter a fresh version of this battleground simply cannot get this toy due to the NPC leaving in the beginning.

Also, they can't be used as a mercenary. One because it's the wrong faction for the current race, and the other because it's the wrong faction for the actual race of the character.

prior to the starting the 15th Annv holiday AV BG event the NPCs will be standing at the gate on the left. once the gate opens and the BG starts they vanish. i did have some issues seeing or finding them even when using a /tar vogg or /tar pros on both my faction players. them after doing the event several times they popped for me. not sure what caused this, i suspect it had to do with getting reputation to friendly. this can be a issue since i had to do around 7 BGs to get my 200 TW badges and not being able to get this insignia makes turn ins rather painful, the since the majority of the AV BG i got dropped into were already started

there are also Rune de rappel, which is actually in the retail BFA version of the game. which comes from doing Korrak le Ragesang. this also is a issue, since this is done most of the time at the very start of a game, by one faction. getting dropped into a BG 2-3 minutes after start, you will most likely missed out

Due to the return of Korrak's revenge with the 16th anniversary this toy is once again purchasable. Make sure you buy it before the batteground starts.

Speculation: It might be very possible that blizzard want to make this part of the event that returns each year. Just like how Les premiers venus (the vanilla world bosses) was added in 2017 but has returned each year.
