Horde side, mine was a turn in for Poen Gillbrack. Neither my current ally (Vim) nor the other ally (Neri) had the blue ? for turning this in. Suspect there are others for the other followers. A handy way of ranking up the ones you're not currently using.

Ran over a Glimmershell Egg and got the debuff Glimmershell Fluid that attracted gimmershell crabs to me. This was looted off a Glimmershell Crawler at coordinates 50.57 50.60.

Patte de crabe géante does not start a quest. It is turned in to an NPC in your Nazjatar base (Maître-lame Inowari for Alliance at Mezzamere and Poën Seldemer for Horde at Newhome). It awards 250 base reputation for your Nazjatar faction as well as 50 combat experience for your follower and can be turned in multiple times per day. Patte de crabe géantes mainly drop from Carapierre pince-sables, but also have an extremely low chance to drop from other shelled creatures. Once you loot a Patte de crabe géante make sure to turn it in immediately as while you are carrying it in your bags you cannot loot more since it is unique. This seems to be a theme with other items around Nazjatar such as Écorce de marcheur des récifs antique dropped by The Nazjatar Coral Ancient Tree Rares, Filet d’anguilles, and Aile de raie pélagiques.

You get one from the puzzle chest on the roof at 80,31.. if you can't fly you can use the ledge at 83,34

I tried to farm this item and here's what happened : I killed crabs for like 10-15 minutes and got one. Then I killed crabs during the next two days for almost 4-5 hours and didn't get a single one. After reset on Tuesday I got one after 10 minutes. So I'm pretty sure it only drops once a week. From mobs at least.
