During the world quest I got this to drop containing a whopping 61 Cristal voilé. If the drop rate is consistent it may be worth farming, but your mileage may vary.

I set the drop chance to 0.1033% (1 in 968) after looking at the averages here. Don't know how to get per-NPC granularity.

I was killing these for a couple of hours a day for nearly a week. Then I put the item into rarity. It dropped on 1212 kills. I reckon all up it was probably close to 2000. The bag contained 39 x Minerai de monélite

I have killed like 1,5k + of those crabs in Kal'methir Citadel on all of my characters and still nothing, really frustrating.

This might be anecdotal, maybe not. I've killed hundreds, maybe thousands of those crabs and got no drop. But the infestation world quest was up yesterday. So I decided to farm and see if it made any difference. I got the bag drop after like one or two hundred kills. That could be pure coincidence, but maybe not. Things to note -

I did not have any kind of gimmick drop increase benthic items on. I just used my max dmg gear. With full dmg buffs for faster kills. So you don't need the gloves or bracers etc that increase Nazjatar related item drops etc.

War mode was ON.

Farmed about 400 or so on my assassination rogue at 442 ilevel and stacked buffs the Unstable Manapearl + Assassin Buff + raid consumables + any zone buffs nearby (kelp, power orbs, chitin, etc.).

I was able to easily burn down the elites in about 15 seconds or so. My drop was from a non-elite, FWIW. Did not use any of the benthic +drop chance armor, only my normal DPS gear.

Imagine being a lucky person. You have no trouble getting into groups because you're a tank, and items like these drop while you're doing normal questing, allowing you to bypass any extra farming. You have a heaping helping of pets too, because they always drop a few times before you're tired of farming that rare that always seems to appear while you're in the area.

That person is my husband. I being the unlucky one, who also happens to be the collector, knew I was in for a long haul for this one. I loaded up lowbear's Rarity string before I even began farming makruras. You're the real MVP, lowbear.

I am finished with all other items for Give Me the Biggest Bag You've Got except the Barnacled Bag of Goods and the Voidcaster's Supply Bag. I am a ilevel 433 BM hunter, equipped with a spirit beast, Magic Broom, humanoid tracking, and a prayer. I also grab the buff from the Archaic Shrine at 67, 38 and any impregnable cone shells or fallen kelp buds in the area. I'm plowing through these crabfolk at about 150 murders per hour. I've put enough Barnacled Lockboxes in the guild bank for people to start questioning my sanity.

Some more constructive notes:

- To speed things up, I gather larger packs at 67,37/64,38 (this is a good spot), inside the covered area at 65,37, and 63,34. Once all the smalls are clear, I start pulling Hammerclaws until the smalls respawn.
- I try to only pull one Hammerclaw at a time. Their Spiked Carapace buff causes a lot of damage to melee (or in my case, my pet) and they have a lot more HP than the other makruras.
- If you pull more than two Commanders, they will cast Agitate, which ups their haste and damage. This buff can be dispelled, but can be deadly if you get caught in the crossfire.
- The Tidal Shamans will heal themselves (or another crabbos if you get their HP low first) and also shield themselves. Both can be interrupted and the shield can be dispelled.
- Allseer Omakill and Elder Unu will spawn along the edges of the area as you farm. From other comments in this thread, it appears it would be a good idea to kill those for a chance. ;)

10/18/19: I've killed 2901 makruras with no drop on the bag so far.

10/26/2019: I'm up to 3500 kills. Up until this point, I have only farmed for this item while makrura bounty has NOT been a quest (lots of competition on my realm). I'm getting impatient so I may switch to bounty days to gather some data. I am geared with Benthic raid gear too, but I haven't tried the gloves with the Ecosystem buff.

10/27/19: Infestation of Madness is up on my realm today, but not the bounty. I killed ~~300~~ 600 additional crabs with the quest active with no success. Although the sample size is small for this, maybe we can conclude that this quest alone doesn't significantly help your chances of the bag dropping.

10/30/19: the Bounty: More Makruras quest was up today. Killed 200 more crabs (not much time due to raid tonight), had no luck.

11/3/19: came to farm a few more crabs with my husband to test for Echo of Mortality drop rate. Infestation of Madness was up. Killed about 400 crabs - no bag, no Echos. My husband received the bag in under 100 kills. I am beyond livid. UPDATE: I stayed and continued killing makruras while crying, and THE BAG DROPPED AT EXACTLY 4926 KILLS.

I've always questioned why I have to do literally 50 times more work than my husband to get these items to drop, but I've finally done it, comrades. Up next: Voidcaster's Supply Bag (1117 attempts so far).

Found in 637 tries. Had 600 farmed ' till today when Bounty quest for Makrura showed up. Woop woop.. got me 25 Storm Silver ore :)))))

Found with item wrists and gloves after tracking 3050 kills. I probably had at most a few hundred more kills before tracking began. It dropped from Kil'karrok Seer and the Bounty was up but I hadn't accepted the quest. I hope this helps.

Finally dropped for me after 3071 recorded kills (plus some dozens more before I added this item to rarity). Dropped from a Kil'karrok Scavenger. I did NOT wear the gloves and/or wrists mentioned elsewhere. The bag contained a whopping amount of 39 Osmenite Ore.

I got the Barnacled Bag of Goods while doing a world quest, didn't bother to search it up until after all the herbs it gave me. Got it after killing my third one ever for a world quest. Wish I was this lucky in getting a mount.

Dropped for me after 5210 kills from a Kil'Karrok Seer, with no bracers/gloves equipped and no world quest or bounty up. The bag conteined a bunch of mining and herbalism materials

For any feeling like, surely it must be off something else, just keep killing any makura you see... you will get there!

Finally, I've got the bag after having have killed 5.538 makrura-like crabs (when I started counting).
I was killing 150-200 per day, and today daily was up and I happened to be wearing benthic gloves and bracers, too. Also, I didn't complete the quest yet by killing the octupus up in its tower.

Happy hunting and persevere, eventually it will drop!

Only sandkeep left, 35 tries and counting.

Just want to share my story.
Using add-on rarity: Counted 700+ kills then I equipped the wrist "Nazjatar's ecosystem" and killed 200+ and got the item. Coincidence? Who knows but if there is a buff or item that help you get something just use it :).

Logged on to farm for a few minutes as I'm thinking of faction changing and I was worried about losing progress on this.

Anyways, grinded on the mobs for about 20 minutes and it dropped to finally get the bag achievement!

Maby Blizz changed the drop rate or I just got lucky.

Just dropped for me finally after so long from some normal Kil'karrok mob. I wasn't wearing any Benthic gear so that is not a definite requirement as some of the other comments speculate.

This dropped for me today from a Kil'karrok Makura (non-elite) while waiting for Elder Unu to spawn. War Mode off. World Quest was not up. No ally (follower) summoned. I had the Benthic gear in my bags but not equipped (forgot). 236 attempts this week since I had Rarity start counting. Previously earned the Undersea Usurper while content was current, so attempts would have been much more than this week alone. Contained Deep Sea Satin x50.

Following the advice from others here, I equipped the Wrists Garde-poignets de gardécaille zanj’ir with Nazjatar's ecosystem Environnementaliste benthique and the Gloves Protège-mains shirakess with Mardivas Instincts élémentaires, and I managed to get the bag Sac de marchandises couvert de bigorneaux in about 5 minutes, with fewer than 30 kills. Prior to using these items, I had been farming for approximately 2 hours daily over 5 days.

The Gloves and Wrists can be purchased from Trouveuse Palta at the cost of 5 Perle de mana prismatique each. However, obtaining the Nazjatar's ecosystem and Mardivas effects is not guaranteed right away, as these items come in a few different versions. You may need to buy around 4-6 of them to find the one with the desired equipped benefit.

This item is non existent for me same as Zesqua's Rain Stoe on timeless Isle. 2 items that should have a 0.8 or o.9 so close to under 1% chace per kill but sadly blizzard love to be absolutely garbage at proper code work.It has been that bad since vanilla seeing as all the pointless but still collectiable green blue epic armor and weapons patterns and plans and pets from Vanilla>Current are just sitting there being impossble. And when you factor in the huge F up they did with the BFA level squish and how that effected so many Vanilla and TBC drops and I think Wrath and Catackysm also you need a specific Level character with Locked XP in order to farm them.And would blizzard take the time to correct these errors and make these next to unobtainable items actually more attainable so you do not spend literal years grinding the same mobs who drop said itme s but get Zero.Need smarter people in there to Lead a team dedicated to fixing buffing and nerfing the crap out of all Content in wow that isnot the main expansion.Shadowlands and BFA by now should be as soloable as Classic>WoD. Doing 10 million + damage to bosses all boss 1 shots removed if you are not in a group etc. And for the love of god fix Dragonsoul so we can finish our transmogs mounts and Legendary Daggwers.
