As of now you can't socket domination pieces, which means different types of armour can get different numbers of extra sockets:

Cloth - 3 extra sockets (2 rings + neck)
Leather - 5 extra sockets (2 rings + neck + belt + bracers)
Mail - 4 extra sockets (2 rings + neck + bracers)
Plate - 4 extra sockets (2 rings + neck + belt)

It is absolutely idiotic to exclude domination-socketed gear from being upgraded by Trépan modificateur d’alliage.

During the last content, allowing Ve'nari's item to be used only on Helm, Neck, Bracers, Belt, and Rings was already mindboggling. But with domination sockets in the game, the devs cluelessness of simplest game mechanics has reached a completely new level.

I can't socket Korthian Caretaker's Wraps (bracers) either.

For anyone wondering, this item now seems to require Exalted rep with Death's advance, despite previous reports saying no rep requirement required. Kinda odd, and sucks to anyone coming back to game hoping for some Gem Slot farming.

Are these fully refundable if you deem you cannot use it ?

Since they changed it to say 'Season 2' gear I wonder if it works on my item, but once you buy it , do you own it regardless if you can use it or can i just return to vendor for full purchase price?

Perhaps obvious, but this is the only overflow item for Trouvailles cataloguées if you got all the one-time upgrades, conduits on 252, have 233+ gear and sent Rapport de recherche : Techniques d’analyse de reliques to all relevant alts. Lots of if's, but especially Curve+ mains will be in this situation for a while now. As season 2 is ending within now and a week, socket whatever items could benefit from a socket (consider speed sets as well, for example!). You can probably still do this after season 3 starts for any items that originate from season 2, but it's easy to overlook.

You can instead purchase Maillage imprégné d’éphémères from Ko'tul in Oribos near the Great Vault.
It requires 6 Symbole de mérite d’auxiliaire, which is a reward from the Great Vault.
Every week, you can choose to forfeit your Great Vault rewards for 6 of those tokens.

A decent compensation when your Great Vault rewards aren't all that great!
