Had this item drop in the chest on Heroic. I already had a normal 233 Rae'shalare, Death's Whisper. Unsure if this item counts as a piece of loot on the table as i did not receive anything else.

This is not a guaranteed drop from Heroic Sylvanas if you already have the bow from Normal difficulty. You got lucky but because you looted it on the wrong difficulty you still have massive rng on every subsequent kill to see if your lucky drop remains relevant or whether it is replaced by a M+ or Mythic weapon.

This item is a BIG lie it doesn't exist only through mail sent by game masters if you killed her on heroic and got a 233 ilvl bow , except that this item has never dropped to no one, no screenshots of this item in google nor wowhead, its not in the loottable of the boss in the codex and by the way the codex of sylvanas is still bugged for hunters and the bow is still showing 233 ilvl instead of 246 ilvl when u check the codex , Raeshalare is dropping in 246 ilvl but no one ever saw the upgrade tokens drop until developers start working again to fix the game ....
Should we delete our 233 bows to try to get the 246 ilvl version since they are not fixing this ?

No one is getting any upgrade items for the bow, these are not implimented.

Just dropped for me tonight on heroic.

Adding more info. Got the 233 normal version first week killing normal Sylv. Have killed her 7 times on heroic since then. 1 of those times was just killing her again in the same week to help friends get AOTC. So got the upgrade item after the 6th heroic kill. Good luck all! Keep trying, you will get it eventually.

Just was in a kill, 2 hunters including me got the upgrade item and one hunter got the bow. Maybe this was buffed/hotfixed or we were just really lucky..

I just got it after 7 weeks of struggling. The item is soulbound and cant be traded. I suspect the drop rate was ninja buffed as a lot of people starting to report drops.

Hello fellow hunters,
because of the contradicting comments on the Legendary bow upgrade items i made a ticket and a GM answered me today 19.09.2021:

I can share that there is not a bug with the upgrade items.. There are 2 upgrade items that can drop, and they are both complete RNG:
Heroic upgrade item: Wraithwisp Sinew
Mythic upgrade item: Ethereal Fletching

So if you have the normal bow since forever and are never getting the HC upgrade like me...that is by design.
Imo it is bad design, but I did not make the game....so just cuddle your normal bow once in a while, which is most likely sitting in your bag, doing nothing, because it is worse than any 252 m+ Vault weapon.
I am sure you will use it in 9.2, 9.3 or 10.0 when you then maybe get the HC/Mythic upgrade item :)

Would be interesting to see the drop rate comparison between the bow and the sinew. If it's the same it literally makes no sense to keep the bow from Normal (unless you are still using it which is unlikely at this point in time)

Finally got it after 7 HC kills! I got the normal bow 8/8 bow via trade so I can also confirm that there is no such thing as "bugged players" due to trading the bow rather than looting it yourself.

Still wondering whether I should delete my 233 bow and wait for a second drop, since reports of upgrades dropping are so few and far between.
When I last checked there is only one youtube video of an ethereal fletching dropping, which is very discouraging.

Got the bow on normal mode on July 7th (so almost half a year ago), 23 heroic kills and 6 mythic kills later I'm still stuck with the 233 version.

Hope others aren't as unlucky because it has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth about my main!

Edit: So one day after deleting my 233 version of this bow, the 246 version of the bow dropped the very next kill. Probably a coincidence but still - if you aren't using your 233 version you might aswell delete it and see what happens, honestly.
