Anyone looking to answer questions about this and others like it need to go read up on the Mount Guide for 9.2 as it's very informative on how you can craft the new mounts using these materials.

This item was stacking in my bags without knowing what it was for. After spending some time to actually figure it out, it annoyed me that there wasn't a complete comment/guide here on wowhead. What is Protoflesh?
Protoflesh is used to make the Stone Soup feast after you have used cooking to make the Empty of Kettle of Stone Soup. Cooking recipe you buy from vendor in Faith's Hope called Olea-Manu

How to use Protoflesh?
You set out the empty kettle on the ground, which allows people to add ingredients to it. One of the ingredients that can be added is Protoflesh. Once enough ingredients have been added, the empty kettle becomes a Kettle of Stone Soup, which acts identically to Feast of Gluttonous Hedonism, it just has 70 uses instead of 35. Protoflesh has no other use (aside from a single quest for a the mount Patient Bufonid in Haven on 5 turn in)
