It's a shame this is a low level green, because this thing procs like crazy.
If you get this while leveling, you will love it until you replace it, which sadly is pretty fast.

Got a 372 version of this, from the Community Feast event. It seems to have no ICD, sometimes multiple sequential sharks will appear to strike, and one a few occasions, I've had two spawn simultaneously. Seems pretty strong, especially for Frost DKs.

386 bm hunter, i tested out the 372 item level version of this trinket with multiple two minute pulls.

At this level, the trinket will deal 7,497 frost damage each time it procs. The proc will appear to your right (facing the target) with the appearance of a shark for just a split second before moving at speed like a white cloud into the target.

The damaging spell is called "Chill of the Depths"

Over the course of my pulls, the trinket proc'ed an average of 8 times, and did an average of %2.0 of my overall damage.

Even though it may proc 4 times a minute, the damage isn't really all that great. It is hard to justify this trinket against others that significantly increase secondary stats, or the current raid trinkets.

Now, this was single target, not multi, so it may do a better job as AOE.

Pugging Trial of Flood, someone literally stopped in the middle of it to ask me if I just threw a shark at someone.

Getting one better than the ilvl 340 I got from my first Feast is now my mission in life.

update for 10.1
upgradeable ones of it are dropping now.

Explorer type should be able to upgrade to 398 (halfway through Adventurer).
Adventurer type should be able to get to 411 but needs whelpling crests for the last 4 upgrade levels.
Veteran would be 402 minimum but needs whelpling crests to get to halfway, and drake crests to get to 424.
If you're a lucky ducky and it comes in Champion (maybe from a weekly quest or Super Rare?) it would be minimum 415, could reach 424 with drake crests, and 437 with the next crest upwards.
I'm pretty sure Hero level only drops in really hard dungeons but that would range 428 for 4 notches worth of one crest, or 1 more crazy newer crest to reach 441 for the max (as of this writing).

Edit 2: I think it's a lot better for classes with DoTs. Every tick rolls the dice. If your stuff does "stack energy then hit simple and hard" style this is probably not the trink for you.

I have not yet checked if it launches sharks in Timewalking. But I plan to.

Note that since it's frost damage you could probably use it to help you kill Viscidus and get his pet glob (Globule de Viscidus) for the achieve (Raid de mascottes).

That really ancient boss has a mechanic about having to hit it X times with frost (to make it harden) and X times with physical (to shatter it). At any DF character's level it wouldn't matter if it's wuss or strong, just number of hits.
