La durée du Lariat élémentaire est passée à 5 secondes (au lieu de 12 secondes) ; augmenté de 1 seconde par gemme élémentaire équipée.
Note des développeurs : Le lariat élémentaire a été l'un des embellissements les plus puissants en raison de sa capacité à accorder une grande quantité de vos statistiques souhaitées en fonction d'une condition facile à satisfaire. Nous savions que nous voulions ramener sa puissance à la limite de la saison, mais il était important pour nous que l'investissement du joueur dans l'acquisition de l'objet ou de la recette soit respecté. Plutôt que de réduire directement sa puissance, nous avons choisi de repenser le passif pour l'aligner sur tous les autres effets de joaillerie en mettant à l'échelle un axe de puissance avec la quantité de gemmes insérées. Le résultat net est que le Lariat élémentaire sera moins puissant qu'il ne l'est maintenant plus tôt dans la phase d'engrenage d'un joueur, tout en préservant sa place en tant que centrale de débit lorsque les joueurs commencent à compléter leur équipement avec des douilles supplémentaires. Nous sommes impatients d'entendre vos commentaires.

Quel est le but en mettant un drop si faible pour un plan de métier ? Une monture encore ok ... mais la ... cela n'a pas de sense ... je le farme au moins 2h par jours ... depuis la maj de sa sortie ... et rien ...

Une tempête primordial se lève quelque part dans les 4 zones principales du Vol draconique
Les tempêtes se déroulent selon un cycle de 2 heures avec un temps d'arrêt d'une heure entre les deux. Le cycle est toujours le même sur un royaume
Les rares « locales » habilités et les rares « élémentaires » spécifiques aux tempêtes peuvent donner le patron
Dans certaines zones, vous pouvez générer des rares supplémentaires qui deviennent renforcées et peuvent avoir une chance de looter le design
La même rareté peut apparaître plusieurs fois au cours d'une tempête de deux heures, mais vous ne pouvez piller qu’un même rare une fois par jour et par personnage
Le patron est LqE et vous n'avez pas besoin d'être un Joaillier pour le ramasser

TROUVER LES TEMPÊTES PRIMALES

À partir de cette publication (décembre 2023), il y a une tempête à la fois quelque part dans les quatre zones principales des îles Dragon (Rivages de l’Éveil, Plaines d’Ohn’ahra, Travée d’Azur, Thaldraszus). Elle apparaît sur la carte du monde lorsque vous cliquez sur une zone. Cela peut être à l’un de ces endroits :

Rivages de l’Éveil : Citadelle d'Obsidienne, côté nord, vers 30,55 -- notez que seule la moitié de cette zone est sous l'effet de la tempête. Les objets rares qui apparaissent autour du bâtiment lui-même ne seront pas renforcés
Rivages de l’Éveil : Donjon Scalecracker, vers 66,27
Plaines d’Ohn’ahra : Nokhudon Hold, vers 35, 36
Travée d’Azur : Brackenhide Hollow, vers 11,32
Travée d’Azur : Assemblée de Cobalt, vers 47,22 -- notez que la tempête dans l'Assemblée de Cobalt s'étend jusqu'à la rotonde à l'extérieur des murs au sud vers 43,31, où les rares peuvent également apparaître
Travée d’Azur : Imbu (au sud de Camp Nulle-Part) autour de 59,66
Thaldraszus : Tyrhold, vers 59,59

QUAND REGARDER

Chaque tempête dure deux heures, puis fait une pause d’une heure. Elles suivent un cycle fixe. Sur mon royaume basé aux États-Unis, ils fonctionnent de 7h à 9h, 10h à 12h, 13h à 15h et 16h à 18h, puis répètent ce cycle. Si vous passez la souris sur l'icône de la tempête sur la carte du monde, vous verrez généralement combien de temps il reste, même si cette information semble parfois manquer.

QUE TUER

Tous les monstres rares dans la tempête élémentaire a une chance de laisser tomber Dessin : jonc élémentaire.

Vous ne pouvez piller un rare qu’une fois par jour et par personnage
Les rares « locaux » qui apparaissent normalement dans la zone lorsqu'il n'y a pas de tempête auront un buff renforcé que vous pourrez voir lorsque vous cliquez dessus
S'ils n'ont pas ce buff parce que la tempête est terminée ou s'ils sont apparus ou ont été kités en dehors de la zone de la tempête, ils ne peuvent pas faire tomber le patron du Jonc
Chaque type de tempête possède également son propre ensemble de rares « élémentaires » spéciales. Ils n’auront pas le buff renforcé, mais ils pourront abandonner le design

Day 1: Update from someone who tried really hard: yesterday I killed 16 out of 18 possible Rare mobs within the Storms AND plenty of regular zone rare mobs that were within the Storm Zone. I also farmed 9500 Elemental Overflow in the meantime of sniping those rares all day long. I am 100 Skill JC and 80 Skill Enchanter, most of the times I were part of a Raid Grp and all Mobs got tagged by us (were available for me).

I did not get the Recipe nor did anyone ever got something special within my Raid Grp.

Day 2: this is a weird situation, yesterday there was a zone call-out message, same as in Brackenhide for Storm-Rares and all Rares had a Silver Dragon Portrait and an Icon on the overall Map (M). As of today, this is not the case. I do not get a message that the Storm-Rare did spawn and they look like regular elite mobs, therefore no Silver Dragon Portrait and no Map (M) Icon.

Good News: I were able to loot 3 / 3 / 18 Rares so far and one of them dropped for the first time the Dummed Primeval Fire from Prepatch Event to build the Heirloom trinket. Yesterday I did not find any of those, only Overflow and plenty of pets.

Bad News: it is really hard to spot the rares now, learning from day 1 was, that there are 1-3 Rares per Storm and they spawn at the beginning, after half of the time and at the end. With the learnings from day 2 it is really hard to spot them and I will most likely miss most of them today since I have to fly arround constantly and spam target macros with their names. So far I just follow the "horde" of people hunting them.

On my Server EU-Aegwynn, someone lootet it from Water Storm Trio so far (one of the 18 Rares) and they count as 3 Rares (best possible spawn). He had JC on 93 and didn't even know it comes from there, was just lucky on his first rare...

People that went full necklace spec to make these for their guild like myself got shafted by the insanely low drop rate. Everyone in my guild bought their craft from a random in trade while I just basically wasted 2 weeks on a profession spec that's dead for the people that aren't very lucky or very rich. I've spent majorty of the last two days killing more than 20 storm rares, some of them in raid groups. I haven't seen any recipe drop. In the mean time 3 crafters on my server sniped the recipe from AH/city trade chat for bargain. I can't help thinking that I lost because I've decided to play the game instead of refreshing AH and spamming chat. I realize that trading can be fun, entertaining and indepth part of the game, but I feel something went wrong this time. Recipe like that shouldn't be tradeable or just have more reasonable drop rate.

PS. I've only realized how frustrated I am when I noticed my cats started avoiding me :')

Update after hotfix (it turns out Storm rares couldn't drop design):
The total number of designs on the EU auction house started rapidly raising after weekly reset, so I boldly assume it was applied with weekly reset, even tho patch notes suggested opposite. Not cool. Cheap designs are instantly flipped, but price is steadily dropping.

Someone on my server told me, that he got it from a trash mob at a Wind or Earth Storm at the Maruuk or Yellow Dragons. (He doesn't remember the exact location because he wasn't hunting for it)
He guaranteed me, that he didn't got it from a rare mob, cause he killed only 4 and they never dropped anything special.

What do you guys think about that?

After grinding normal elites for hours inbetween rare spawns as a party of 5, killing every rare spawn within the storm, every storm rare possible on 2x characters, joining 20+ raid groups with 30-40 people. I have only seen the fire illusion drop once. Im burning out pretty hard at the moment as a jewelcrafter with max points in jewelry. A bit conflicted with how I feel about the design being so rare and tradeable at the same time, as its making the rich richer. People wanting 250k commission for 405 craft, for some thats a lot of money, including friends of mine that I'm trying to help out with their crafts.

Reading comments about the design dropping from basically everything and nothing is also confusing when the recipe drop info says: Powerful creatures within primal storms. Yet people claim they got it from normal quest mobs, elites etc. I guess the best thing to do is just crossing our fingers a storm will spawn at the obsidian citadel and kill anything that moves. Best of luck to all of you out there hunting! and lets try to not burn out too hard

Edit: I managed to loot Formula: Illusion: Primal Frost from Crystalus. I do not have enchanting on my character and the enchanting formulas are BoP. Amazing

Just watched someone loot it off Ancient Protector during a water storm in Tyrhold, which means it can drop off non-storm rares in the area during a storm. The last storm rare was at least 20 minutes prior and on the opposite side of the zone, so no chance it was off that.

I just want to know why Blizzard set an incredibly low acquisition rate. In Korea's 1 tier server, only 1 person has acquired the production method for 3 days and is in charge of all production. I'm not trying to blame him. But I don't want to believe that Blizzard's intention is to make sure that only one person can meet all the demands of the server. I don't think the deprivation of the rest of the necklace specialized users should be felt in the game.

Since this recipe seems to drop from ALL rares in an Elemental Storm zone, not just the event rares:
If you really wanna optimze your farm you can wait with killing your daily Brackenhide / Obsidian Citadel rares until their zone is affected by an Elemental Storm.
Not that it matters tho, considering the dropchance has to be less than 0.1%...

So this dropped on an alt i was leveling from Captain Lancer during the storms. I did not know this was as rare as it was and thought AH was trolling on 5 mill listings. Well guess it is as rare, listed mine for 120k and sold instantly lol live and learn i guess i shall check wowhead anytime something like this drops

I have the mats to make my own but each time i ask in Trade for a crafter, i'm being demanded 100k+ for commission, rofl

I mean, kudos for trying to make bank on the monopoly while you can (and more fool you if you spent several million on the recipe with the intent on making more from commissions) but i aint forking out for both the mats AND for you to click a couple of buttons on your UI.

I dont understand the logic in this, you have extremly low chance to get it, noone on my realm (Moonglade, The Shatar, Steamwheedle) have got the recepie yet.
Im a Jc and there is like 25 + order requests to make the darn necklace. So public order is only the realm, which is a bit sad.

The invasions zones, seems to have been mostly same zones, The brakenhide place with those 4 rares. And regarding to the post you can only loot them once a day,
during 2 hours of invasion you might be lucky to see 2 random invasion rares spawning.
I've seen it on obsidian place, only once a couple of days ago.

So 2 invasions sometimes its 3, at same time, 2 invasion bosses per place, randomly, makes it impossible for you to stand on one place and wait, cause then you might miss one on another place. Yes you have a chance on the rares that is normally spawning in that area, but it depends on what area it is.

This loot chance is very very below 1 % when its all about luck and more luck (feels like getting the mount from Sha, I finally got it, when they increased dropchance 4 weeks ago:P)
I would like them to add the recepie on atleast the bigger elites, it would make it more of a worth while grind,
Or behind for example 10 k elemental overflow, its still a grind but it doesnt feel like its 8 years of "hoping" thats not even fun.

so so far the sum of it is to have extreme super mega luck and just sit and wait in these booring invasion places and grind elemental overflow and buy transmogs.
And yeah, you cant do anything else , if you want this pattern , no sleep no eat no nothing:P You might miss the rare invasion rare.

US quantity for the recipe on The Undermine Journal has almost tripled since Monday night (when the hotfix went Live) from about 40 recipes to 115. In that same time frame, the US median price has dropped from 6 million to 4 million.

Personally, I just looted it off Bouldron (WM on, JC skill 100, and it was my first kill of the week of Bouldron).

Despite my experience, I suspect this recipe remains ridiculously hard to farm on an individual basis even after the hotfix, and most Jewelcrafters looking to obtain the recipe will just have to wait on market forces to bring down the prices now that the hotfix has greatly increased supply. I don't think Blizzard will take further action since the current quantity is somewhat similar to many of the raid drop recipes (which are also quite rare).

Been farming it since its release, also started camping rares with 3 chars in multiple zones after hotfix and got it on 105 daily kill, from Infernum, totalling in about 150+ kills since the initial release. That was quite a ride, good luck hunting!

Here's a really important recipe - highly sought-after by any progression raiders - really the only reason to take jewelcrafting at all. So it drops only during certain timed events for 2 hrs a pop - only from rares that may or may not spawn during the event, on no set timer. You may or may not be able to reach the rare before it is zerg'd down by the other 500 characters at the event. And if you do, there's a less than 1% chance of the recipe dropping, and if it drops, you are competing with ALL other characters nearby (most of who aren't even jewelcrafters) who gets the lucky roll. Whichever dev/designer thought this is a good idea, can kiss my crusty, unwashed buttocks. >:(

I have seen it drop only once since it was made live. I just bought this last night on an alt server of mine for gold making, Alexstrasza-US for 600k gold. The other two listed were up there for 800k so I saved 200k. It’s typically been up for 900k-1million and up. Wowhead says it’s price is 750k right now and TUJ says it’s around 865k minimum. So I got it at a great deal. The lowest I’ve seen it for on my other servers is 440k. If you can find a server that has it at the lowest cost and transfer gold over and buy it.

I just wanted to share my strategy for others who want to try and farm this recipe. It took me over 2 weeks of camping storms every day. I tried to get at least 5 primal storm bosses a day, which is harder than it sounds. More than once I've been at a storm and had the same stupid boss spawn twice in one storm (once the same boss spawned back-to-back!). My best day was 10 bosses on a Saturday where I stayed logged in for a good 12 hours.

The best case scenario is 4 bosses per 2 hour storm but they are rarely that generous. 30 minutes is about the fastest spawn time, I've seen it stretch to 40-45 regularly though. My rule of thumb was if I killed 2 bosses from one type of storm, I would make a point to choose a different storm the next time (fire, snow, sand, etc). If you kill the same boss twice in a day, you generally get vendor trash loot on the second kill. Nothing more frustrating than waiting 45 minutes and seeing a boss you already killed that day. I decided it was better to just move on to a storm where all 4 bosses were fresh kills for the day.

Also, be sure you're killing storm bosses and not other rare spawns. Obsidian Citadel and Brackenhide Hollow both have other rares that spawn every 10 minutes. Nokhudon Hold, Tyrhold, Camp Nowhere are easier because most of the rares that spawn there are storm bosses. So if you're not sure what bosses to kill, I'd hang out at the latter spots until you are familiar with the names of the storm bosses.

I got my recipe from Voraazka yesterday (Friday the 13th, my lucky day!) I'm sure I killed at least 100 storm bosses before it dropped, which would seem to support the 1% drop rate theory. I was max JC when it dropped, not that it seems to matter if non JC's are getting it. No other recipes dropped for me during this farm.

I am currently killing around 10 primal storm bosses per day ever since mid-december. I've logged about 250 bosses thus far and no recipe drops. Got two of the formulas today though, seems like either their droprate has went up or that a bug got fixed.

That being said, for me it seems like less than a 1% droprate. That or I'm quite unlucky.

Edit after 15 minutes:
It just dropped for me off of Karantun in the area below Obsidian Citadel. The strategy I used:

- Remember storm spawn times and give up your social life to play.
- Use your hearthstone and ideally a mage. Attune hearthstone at a camp near one of the two storms. The one at Obsidian Citadel seems most useful to me, most of the time it spawns at one of the two places there. If mage, use teleport to go to storms quickly if needed.
- When storms spawn, go to the one which gives you the lowest chance of finding a rare you haven't killed yet for the day. If a rare spawned that you already killed, use hearthstone, teleport or other items to go to the other one as quickly as possible to find the other rare.
- After killing a rare in one of the storms, check LFG Custom and search for the names of bosses you still need or "rare". Can also scroll through to see if anything is useful. Most groups are WM off. Going on LFG almost doubled my rares killed, also because you can select the rares you haven't gotten yet.
- At some point you likely get most if not all rares of a storm for the day. At that point you can usually just afk in the storm you haven't gotten yet.

Well.. I'm at 523 (nope, not a typo) rare kills now (Storm-rares and regular area rares) and giving up. No drop whatsoever.
Holy skagsuck, this droprate is beyond ridiculous. Blizz really fooked this one up.
Mind you that though I was hunting for this design I also _never_ once saw one of the 4 (5?) gorram enchanting recipes that drop in primal storms as well.
Guess I am still exploring bold new frontiers of suck.

Alrighty then,, enough ranting. Going to share my experience with the storms, maybe someone else can gain some benefit from it (if I am repeating something someone else posted below I am sorry, did not read every comment).

As several people noted below (and wowhead dropped-by shows), the recipes can drop from regular rares in the area as well if they are part of the elemental storm - this can be checked if the enemy has the primal storm buff.
Not entirely sure if the actual drop chance eligibility is once per day per rare per _account_ or per _character_ - in my case used a lot of alts to kill some storm rares multiple times a day, assuming per character drop chances.

First of all: there are many shiny people out there sharing their storm-rare spawn in group finder under 'custom' - usually you can find it by name of the rare, so check regularly for any type of invasion you're in for possible rare group; you can find a list of all element-specific storm rares here (at the bottom): https://www.wowhead.com/guide/primal-storms-dragonflight
Likewise, do not be shy to share your spawns in said group finder.

Addendum to storm-specific rare monsters: sometimes there is a bug that shows a rare as regular elite as if you'd killed it already this day even if you have not yet killed it with the character: this is a display bug, you'll know that it was proper rare kill if you loot at least the renown token from it.

Major thing I noticed: when the two simultaneous storms spawn every 3 hours on the hour it seems in one of the storms there is a guaranteed storm rare spawn right at the start (100% of time for me). So I recommend parking 2 characters at the border between two zones so you can check quickly all 4 zones for the location
If you do not see rare at either one it usually means a) has been already killed quickly (unlikely) b) you already have killed that rare/boss on this character this day c) above mentioned display bug.

Got no data about rare spawn behaviour for the odd single invasions that may spawn in-betweem the double invasion on 3h timer.

List of all elemental storm spawn areas follows with subjective opinion attached.

Lots of rares that spawn regularly and at least 3 rares that can be force-spawned (Morchok, Lost Shadow, Worldcarver A'tir).
And the occasional rare that spawns just outside the elemental storm area (Battlehorn Pyrhus for example) can be dragged into the area (if you have access to taunt), when it gains the elemental storm debuff it ought to be eligible for drop chance - obviously this is a theory and I cannot confirm if it works. :D
You can also combine this area for doing Wrathion/Sabellian quests and farming keys.

>> The Azure Span - Brackenhide Hollow (north of Iskaara) - very good location <<
4 rares that spawn on a set timer every 10 minutes (07:00, 07:10, and so on); if you use several alts you can gain up to 10-11 rare kills per 2 hour window in addition to storm-rares.

>> Thaldraszus - Tyrhold (east of Valdrakken) - good location <<
Only 1 extra rare here (Ancient Protector) but she can be forced to spawn every time, for every character. Even though it says for this rare it needs all four pillars activated it usually only takes one pillar and for that the orbs are easy to farm.
Also this is the area to farm Glowing Titan Orbs (reagent for best weapon enchantments).

Only 2 rares here, one does not spawn every day and even if it does, it is very rare.
The other (Captain Lancer) though is a guaranteed spawn right after the Dragonbane Keep siege event has been completed - usually there is at least one siege during a storm.

No regular rares. But you can farm Cobalt Assembly reputation/power while looking or waiting for storm rares.

>> Ohn'ahran Plains - Nokhudon Hold (west of Maruukai) - poor location <<
One regular rare. But on some kind of daily timer: only some days when it is present at all.

No regular rares. Terrible place to farm anything else, worst enemies in this area ever.
Whatever dev thought 'giving half the enemies there an uninterruptable stun with short cooldown and no diminishing return' is a fun challenge: please go sit on a cactus.
Stunlock death sentence if you pull more than 2-3 enemies, even as tank.
Only go there if the initial rare spawns here or you want to hunt for storm rares.

>> Thaldraszus - The Primalist Future / The Temporal Conflux (southeast of Valdrakken) - poor location <<
The Primalist Future is another zone, thus you cannot see rare icons on the map if you are in Thaldraszus, you actually have to enter the sub-zone.
And even then it does not show rares on the zone map (unless they fixed it recently).
You can see it on the mini map only if you are close or if you see the system message of the spawn.
Only upside of this zone is being able to wait for trial of elements event.

Im currently at 185+ rare kills and i have actually seen the recipe drop once to a guy that was not even farming it. Can anyone that has gotten the recipe confirm that having jewelcrafting maxed out or even having JC at all is not a requirement for the recipe to spawn cause im also close to giving up on it.

Step 1 if you have tons of gold:

Actually you all, if you have enough gold you can buy WoW tokens with your gold and convert that into Blizzard Balance.

Step 2:

Go to https://theunderminejournal.com/ and search all servers in your region for the cheapest Lariat recipe. Use your Blizzard Balance to purchase a server transfer to said server and then buy the recipe. You do risk it not being up when you arrive in game, so to limit that I’d pick a server that has like at least 3-5 or more available simply for the fact that most players don’t have that kind of gold. I bought the recipe on an alt I use purely to post auctions mainly with flipping and sniping for 1 of my gold making servers and got it for just 600k, which is way cheaper than it was at gold cap before. I have enough gold to buy a second one on another alt gold making toon and almost enough for a third on yet another server, but I feel like having more than one is overkill. What do y’all think of having multiple lariats across different servers?

Step 3: BEFORE YOU TRANSFER BACK BE SURE TO LEARN THE RECIPE FIRST! Just so you don’t risk anything wonky happening just to be safe. Transfer back to your home server ASAP and profit. It’ll be a big help if you have rank 4 unlocked with all bonuses available for players. Some people won’t have mats needed to jump right to rank 4 and may want say to start at rank 2 and then have you recraft rank 4 when they gather mats so don’t assume people always want rank 4. I can wager that most casual players and people with limited game play time may not bother with maxing at every single item possible ASAP all the time. We all know who’s maxing out gear like crazy, lol us hardcores.

Step 4: Once you’re back home hit up everyone with the new magnificent information that you are now a legendary Elemental Lariat crafter! Oh and most importantly craft like a mad person and PROFIT while you bathe in a gold bath of ecstasy!

OR if you don’t have the gold and instead have the money you can just pay the money for both transfers. You’ll have to pay twice sadly. I think they should include an extra transfer with the regular one you buy, but hey who knows.

Question: in order for this recipe to drop, the rare has to have the Imprégnation élémentaire buff, right? I've encountered MANY instances where the rares associated with the elemental storms (Onde de tempête) have NO Imprégnation élémentaire buff. Does that mean they can't drop the recipe then (ie still bugged?) (Just killed Prestéclat Craque-Tonnerre at the nokhud area and he didn't have the buff despite spawning under the elemental storm zone and being a storm-related rare.)

Looks like getting this design is going to be even more troublesome, the best place obsidian keep is supposed to be off the radar for primalist invasion according to blue notes that i saw the other day for 10.7, also we are down to only one primalist invasion active at once, like wtf(i hope i'm wrong)? I killed wayyyyy over 100 (middle finger to that 1% droprate) ever since it was available and still nothing, strangely in all those raids that i was part of, not that every rare that i killed was done while in raid, but still there was a fair share and still didn't see it drop. What's more on it's always sold for million or so, despite the fact that there's plenty of ppl who can make it rank 4 or rank 5 quality so why is it so expensive? This is the biggest joke in this expansion. I wish the dev who thought of that droprate will get his balls stuck in door hinge, or boobs (we need equality, right?).

Finally dropped, here are some of my observations:

First off it's definitely closer to 0.1%, killed an average 60-70 rares / week for nearly 10 weeks and those are just the storm exclusive rares. Lot more killed if they really drop from storm effected rares too. Saw 4 of them drop while farming for others, all from the storm only rares ( mine was from Rouen).

Noticed that the rare map marker disappeared after I killed a rare for the rest of the week for that specific rare (character specific, shows up still on alts until you kill it there too). Not sure if that effects anything, beside the lariat I saw them drop everything they can even without the marker.
The loot quantity varied wildly but didn't notice any pattern to it ( the marker thing didn't effect it for sure).
Was from a rare that I killed twice already this week on other chars, so can also add that first kill of the week doesn't matter across the account at least ( first kill of the week on that specific char however).

None of the storm only rares actually had the storm debuff on them btw. Started observing it late but can confirm it for all my kills in the last 2 weeks, including the one that dropped it finally.

Can't think of anything else I can add, good luck for rest of you still farming.

As of 10.0.7 i have observed to quite weird changes to the primalist storms. The biggest one is that there is only 1 storm active at a time, huuuge nerf to farming this recipe. Also the timer is gone from the minimap (and on wowheads website) or is this just some addon that is messing it up for me?

Im really starting to wonder if it is time to officially give up on farming this recipe right now since there are so many lariat crafters out there right now and i assume that by the time 10.1 is released the lariat will become obsolete. However right now on my server there are only roughly 5 listed on the auction house which keeps the price on it at around 1 mil.

I wanted to share my experience farming this. As a close-to-maxed Jewel Crafter, I really would like to obtain it strictly for me and my alts. I don't want it primarily for profit gain. I farm this on my hunter and solo most of the primal bosses with ease. Emblazion is the only one I find difficult. Guesstimating I have close to 50 kills since the changes have been implemented to the storm. I have not had one drop nor have I seen it drop in a group. So the loot table is accurate because the drop rate is horrendous. I also kill normal rares bound for that area that is affected by the storm. I am going to keep farming because the current price on my server is 3.9 mill which is priced correctly. However, I can't justify spending that much gold on an item with no value far as appearance goes. Unless I knew it had a shelf life beyond this Xpac. I will keep farming and I will update my progress. I wish nothing but the best for everyone farming!

I can confirm it still drops, even for non-jewelcrafters. Got it right now on my engineer/tailor. And it dropped off Rocheron who isn't even listed as a source yet. Can't tell if he was Imprégnation élémentaire though. Didn't really thought I would get this anytime soon.

Just (finally) got recepie from Pipspark in Imbu azure span. He had no buff and my character have jc profession. It was worst grind in this game since i can remeber. Took me 2500+ kills.

Dropped for me from Pipspark after 10 months of farming and over 700 kills. It was the first boss of the storm before server reset and I don't think he was "imbued". About a week later the design dropped for me again off of Gaelzion.

This is completely unfarmable now with the uptime of Storm events and long respawn of rares.
Even if you devote 100% of your life to farming this you could still not have it after months.
Blizz just needs to add this to the drop table of all elites in the storm, not just rares. Make it a realistic 0-5h farm.

Looking for the elusive, expensive design for the Elemental Lariat? Here’s what I’ve pieced together about how to farm it. It has maybe a 1 in 1000 chance to drop from “powerful creatures in primal storms,” so settle in…

TL;DR

One primal storm is up at a time somewhere in the 4 main Dragonflight zones.
Storms run on a 2-hour cycle with a 1-hour down time in between. The cycle is always the same on a given realm.
Empowered “local” rares and storm-specific “elemental” rares can drop the design.
In some areas you can spawn additional rares that become empowered and may have a chance to drop the design.
The same rare can spawn multiple times in a two-hour storm, but you can only loot a given rare once per day per character.
The design is BOE and you do not have to be a Jewelcrafter to receive it.

FINDING PRIMAL STORMS
As of this posting (Dec. 2023), there is one storm up at a time somewhere in the main four Dragon Isles zones (Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span, or Thaldraszus). It shows up on the world map when you click into a zone. It can be in any one of these places:

Waking Shores: Obsidian Citadel, north side, around 30,55 -- note that only half of this area is under the storm effect. The rares that spawn around the building itself will not be empowered.
Waking Shores: Scalecracker Keep, around 66,27
Ohn'ahran Plains: Nokhudon Hold, around 35, 36
Azure Span: Brackenhide Hollow, around 11,32
Azure Span: Cobalt Assembly, around 47,22 -- note that the storm in the Cobalt Assembly extends to the rotunda outside the walls to the south around 43,31, where rares can also spawn.
Azure Span: Imbu (south of Camp Nowhere) around 59,66
Thaldraszus: Tyrhold, around 59,59

WHEN TO LOOK
Each storm lasts for two hours, then skips an hour. They are on a fixed cycle. On my US-based realm, they run from 7-9, 10-12, 1-3, and 4-6, then repeat that cycle. If you mouse over the storm’s icon on the world map you will usually see how much longer it will last, though this information seems to be missing sometimes.

WHAT TO KILL
Any rare in the elemental storm has a chance to drop the lariat.

You can only loot any given rare once a day per character.
“Local” rares that normally spawn in the area when there’s no storm will have an empowered buff that you can see when you click on them.
If they don’t have that buff because the storm is over or they have spawned or been kited outside the area of the storm, they can’t drop it.
Each type of storm also has its own set of special “elemental” rares. They may not have the empowered buff, but they can drop the design.

There are a handful of additional rares you can spawn inside the storm when it's up in certain areas. During the storm, they will have the empowered buff when they are spawned and they should have a chance to drop the design. In addition to the ones below, the elites spawned by skinners with Elusive Creature Bait might also work if they can be summoned within a storm, but I haven't tried that.

Use one Unsustainable Containment Core on the energy vortex in each of four small buildings to spawn the Ancient Protector. Tips: Don't leave the area once you start, or the cores (both kinds) will vanish instantly. Two buildings have mobs near the energy vortexes; don't AOE inside, or you'll aggro the vortex and not be able to use the core. Combine the matrix cores and use the containment cores as soon as you get them, because they have a short life in your bags. Once you use the fourth core, hurry to where the rare spawns so you don't miss it.
Azure Span	Cobalt AssemblyMultiple locations: near 47,22; near 48,24; and near 44,31Requires Herbalism	Enraged Sprout	Rich Soil can appear near either of the round pavilions, along the main path on the lower level, and in other locations. Herbalists can use an Agitated Roused Seedling in the Rich Soil to spawn the Enraged Sprout. You can spawn and kill it multiple times for loot in one day, but you can only gather herbs from it on the first spawn.

HELPFUL HINTS

An addon like Rare Scanner is helpful to alert you when a rare spawns nearby.
If the storm is in the same zone as the Dreamsurge, you have two advantages: other people are likely to show up to help, and the spawns are announced in zone-wide chat. Local rares also seem to spawn more frequently during a Dreamsurge.
If you get lucky and tap most or all of the special elemental rares in the first hour or so, consider switching to an alt for the second hour. The same rare can spawn multiple times, and you’ll get another chance to loot if you have a fresh alt.
When the local rare Char is up at Obsidian Citadel during a storm, pull him out of the cave before killing him. When he's deep in the cave he can lose the empowered buff.

Spent about 4 months farming this on and off on two chars (neither were jewelcrafters) on dual accounts spending several hours each session, after which I had a pattern drop for each character within a day of eachother. I must have roughly killed/camped about a 1000 rares.

The first pattern dropped from Gaelzion which was the first kill of the week of this rare. The second pattern dropped from Pipspark which was my 3rd kill of the week so it is possible to just defeat rares every day to have a chance. The drops from zone specific rares (as opposed to storm specific rares) might be false positives. I've never heard nor seen any, anyway.

Since the latest patch something seems to have changed in the behavior of sharding and perhaps also in the spawn rate of the storm specific rares. Where you had a rare spawn every 25-30 mins spot on before now you might be waiting 50 mins without anything seeming to happen. You also appear to be forcibly transferred between shards even during combat. Where the grind was tedious and repititive before, right now it is extremely frustrating / aggravating.

RE: Phasing and farming this recipe

Several weeks ago when they did something to the servers and how phasing (or instancing layers of the same map) has become slightly problematic for those of us hunting the recipe.

I noticed the problem at first doing the Superbloom and the Researchers Under Fire events. Get 3/4 of the way done and get phased back to a worse off version of the event after dedicating 15 minutes or so of a 20 minute event. Soul-Crushing.

I came looking for this recipe originally as a curiousity and something to check box off the professions and a RPing goal of mine. I wanted to create all of my alt's gear own crafting gear themselves. I came here and did some casual research and went to the grindstone. I was not prepared and added to it the added problem of being forced phased with zero warning and sometimes in mid-combat. I am not here to discuss the merits of the phasing and nature of the "ocean". I cannot control the "ocean" but I can potentially learn to surf the waves. I was talking to someone in Brackenhide Hollow at one of the "perches", looking down at the PLers while they worked, and they encouraged me to post my findings from the last week here.

I have not found a way, before you ask, to keep myself from being phased. I have found the following ways to limit it though, and also perhaps force it. But these are some observations, and not necessarily gospel or fact. Just some observations and some potential conclussions I have drawn from these observations.

Be in a small part of 2-3 people - I have talked to the PLers plying their craft in these elite storm areas and they told me that they find if they are in a full group they tend to get phased around a lot. Which actually works for them as there are more mobs to kill being phased around. I decided to start doing the achievements for storm killing 200 mobs, and I started using small groups. I found in those groups I hardly got phased at all. Similarly I am curious I have not been phased as a raid before in Superbloom or Researchers Under Fire, and I am curious if a phase will hold if a raid is present.
Do not go in and out of the immediate area - I cannot prove this but there seems to be invisible "borders" for some areas. Tyr hold has it's own chat channel phase which suggest there is a border somewhere for at least Tyrhold, and mostly likely the other areas. I went to pick a flower once on the edge and "left the bubble" and came back into a complete different phase. I have also noticed that until I cross the border I do not see the rares on my map sometimes. Could be a thing, may not be a thing.
Removing people or adding people to a group will increase the likelyhood of being phased - I had noticed doing this for the kill 200 achievements that if people left the group it almost always force phased us. Also adding people. I am curious if the PLers are using this idea because they do seem to phase around a lot. I am curious how much of that is deliberate now.
Gathering does not seem to have any effect if you are phased or not - I have a double gatherer I was using in a few storms because my main had killed a heap of bosses already for the day. He was going from node to node just to do something while waiting. I saw no impact on phasing. I got a great test of this as in the last few days I saw another player do much the same thing for several storms and did not seem to get phased.
I see no effect on if you go AFK or not - I have walked away from the computer many times to go bio, get coffee, make lunch/dinner, work on the other screen and lose track of time and in all of that I have seen no correlation between activity and being phased or not.

Farming the Lariat recipe gives me something to do while I am working on the other screen at home. I have no idea if I will keep it or sell it. Almost seems sinful to not sell it. In anyways it keeps me from sitting in Valdrakken at the moment doing nothing. But considering the time investment for this recipe it is hands down worth 3m gold pieces. So if you see Eadran the Shaman on a ledge or rock feel free to say hi. It passes the time. We are playing an MMO after all and being social used to be part of the game. Who else misses Barrens chat of old?

And one last public service request - you murder monkeys that feel the need to blast the rares to bits within seconds you are not really helping. Most of us have the gear this late into the expansion to keep the rare busy for a minute or two. It will not shatter Azeroth or your incredibly busy schedule if you just hold it for a little bit to make sure more people get tags on the rare. And before some angry troll comments about the loss of a rare because of phasing: the excuse - get it killed before I get phased. I have rarely been phased mid combat, like once or twice out of many kills. The more the tags, the more the loot chance, the more recipes floating around this late in the season. You've no doubt been that person who lands seconds too late and how disheartening that is. Small request and still probably going to get some hate comments for this thinking. Play nice with the other kids in the sandbox, yo!

My JC toon was late to the serious pursuit of this infamous recipe. I've been farming it intensively for a couple of months now (with no luck yet after 2-300 storm rares and a similar number of storm-empowered local spawns. I've never even seen someone else cheering that they got it.)
Having read all the comments below I wanted to add a bit of my strategy and some clarifications of comments other folks left. I also still have some uncertainties, and would appreciate if anyone who is certain of the answers would add their feedback.

- The recipe certainly drops from the 16 Elemental Storm rares (4 per storm type) like Frozion.

- I see people claiming that it drops from 'local' rares (ex. Blisterhide) when they spawn on their timer inside an elemental storm. I don't see any evidence of this though, particularly since the recipe doesn't seem to appear on any of their loot tables in Wowhead. If those rares do drop the recipe, why is it not in their drop table? It seems pretty certain that a local that happens to spawn just outside of the area's storm (like Battlehorn Pyrhus) will not drop the special storm loot, because it will not be empowered by the storm (visible buff icon.)

- There may be a third category of rare - Those that are local but are summoned by player actions (like the Tyrhold Ancient Protector). I see people here saying they have seen it drop from the Ancient Protector, but nobody asserting that they got it from Lurgan or other timed local rares. Would love to hear from anyone who got their drop from a particular summoned local or a timed local.

- Elemental storms of course continue for 2 hours. During that period there should be 4 storm rare spawns. I think it's always 4, although it's pretty difficult for me to be sure I didn't miss one in any given storm. The timing of the spawns varies, but is reasonably predictable.
--- There is almost always a spawn right at the start of the storm. Since we have no way of knowing where the next storm will appear (I'm pretty sure I've seen them appear in the same place twice in a row), it's a race to get there before others have killed it. It's a long flight from Valdrakken to Brackenhide! My strategy for that is below.
--- There is usually a second spawn near the half-hour mark, usually +/- 5 minutes. I've seen it at the 20 minute mark once (and I can't say for sure that there was a spawn at the start of that storm.)
--- There us usually a third spawn near the one-hour mark, usually +/- 5 minutes with some outliers.
--- If the third spawn doesn't occur at one hour, it will come around the 1:30 mark. I have never seen a spawn at 1:00 and another at 1:30 (have you?)
--- The fourth spawn usually comes near the end of the storm, I just saw a #4 at the 1:38 mark, which is a pretty extreme outlier - Maybe the earliest final spawn I've seen. In one case a rare spawned at 1:58 and I was the only one there on my tank, so the storm was over before I finished him off. I did get normal-looking loot from that kill (although I don't remember if it included Elemental Overflow.)
--- The same rare can spawn repeatedly. I've seen three in a row. That's pretty annoying since your toon only gets a recipe chance from that rare once per day. (I attempt to mitigate that by rotating in my alt army after I've killed 2/4 rares in a given storm.

In general it seems to be fair to say that after you kill a rare you can safely go afk for a while or do something else for 20 minutes, maybe 25 (but it's certainly annoying to log back in and see the corpse of a rare on the ground!)

Your experience with each of the elemental rares (and local timer or summoned rares) varies after you have killed them once in a week. You can loot Frozion once per day for a recipe chance. Killing him a second time that day will only net you a bit of trash for loot. The next day you can loot him again, but for the rest of the week when he spawns you will not see his rare icon on the map/minimap, which can be pretty annoying since some of them spawn out of the way and after you get the "Gaelzion has spawned" notice you may not find him in the back of the Brackenhide camp before others have killed him. Note that if you log on a different toon you will see the map icons and be able to loot him the same day, so I sometimes loot the same rare several times in one day on different alts.

Some have mentioned that the Icebound Trio is great because the triplet rares would give three drop chances... But I don't think that is true. Only one of the Trio will be lootable. Same goes for Neela Firebane or Pipspark Thundersnap and their mounts - The rider drops loot and the drake does not. This can be annoying when you are racing to get there, because the riders typically die much faster than the drakes. You may get there in time to kill the drake, but miss out on loot.

The flying drakes like Crystalus have a nasty habit of despawning if they aren't pulled down to the ground before they finish their path through the camp. Pull them with ranged attacks or by flying through them to body pull. I also occasionally get despawns that seem like my shard randomly shifted on me - On a couple of those occasions a new rare spawned a few minutes later.

To manage my alt army I made a paper grid chart with my 6 toons on the side and the 16 storm rares plus the 7 storm locations across the top. (I didn't try to list all of the local rares for each location, as I'm still not confident that they actually drop the recipe. I do kill them though when opportunity presents, since I'm probably just chilling there anyway...And if my hunter has already made the rounds of Imbu today there isn't much point doing it again due to daily loot tables.)
In one week I looted 60 storm rares (plus countless locals within the storms.)

How to catch that elusive first spawn of each storm:

- Single-toon
--- Wait at the top of the Valdrakken tower or a similar high central point, at the top of the hour when there has been no storm for the past hour. The storm will start a bit late, maybe 30s into the hour server time. I'll cycle through the zones on the map, checking all the spawn points. (There are 3 in Azure Span, 2 in Waking Shore, and 1 each in the other two zones.) You need to zoom in to the zone to see the storms, as they won't appear on the zoomed out map of the overall Dragon Isles except if you are looking at the flightmaster's map.
--- As soon as I see the storm appear, launch and dragonride at top speed to get there much faster than the flightmaster can accomplish. It's going to be tough to get there in time, unless the storm is in Tyrhold probably.
--- Alternatively for Nokhuden or the Cobalt Assembly you can try to get there faster via the waygates. Dragonride dive from the tower down to the one not far West of Valdrakken.

- Alt Army method
--- Station an alt at as many of the storm locations as you have alts. In my case 6/7, so I leave out Imbu or Nokhuden because I can get there fast from Cobalt Assembly.
--- Log in to the toon waiting at the Cobalt Assembly before the storm starts, and wait with the flightmaster's map open zoomed out to the Dragon Isles.
--- As soon as the flightmaster's map shows the new storm, log off and onto the toon who is waiting there or stay on this toon and either take the quick descending flight down to Imbu or take the waygate from Cobalt Assembly to just SW of Nokhuden.
