This adds 3 damage to the lower- and upper-end of the damage range of your weapon. Better on faster weapons, less effective on slower ones.

One of the best uses would be for Druids' Cat form with a 1.0 speed weapon. +3 Weapon Damage equals, not surprisingly, +3 DPS for Cat Form. At 14 AP per DPS, this turns out to be the equivalent of a +42 AP necklace at L45 -- pretty significant. Rogues' and Warriors' weapons work in similar fashion, although not as easily illustrated and not necessarily to the same benefit.

Currently bugged for the Jewelcrafter. If you are wearing one, then you cannot make any more. You receive a message stating that you cannot have any more of that item. I would assume that you cannot have more than 1 on you at any time ( to sell on the AH or in trade).

Despite the huge cost to make one, these can actually bring in some profit for struggling jewelcrafters. If you have an easy way to get the materials, then simply explain to a druid that it is, hands down, the absolute best necklace they can get for the level and it'll last them all the way to at least 60.

42 attack power is nothing short of amazing, considering a green "of strength" necklace of the same level barely gives half that.

Post-Shadowlands pre-patch, this item does change with the different ilvls with Relics of the Past.
Base Item: Req 20, +2 weapon damage
Relic 1: Req 14, +1 weapon damage
Relic 2: Req 23, +2 weapon damage
Relic 3: Req 32, +2 weapon damage
Relic 4: Req 41, +3 weapon damage
Relic 5: Req 47, +4 weapon damage
Using Relic 5 (vs no necklace) and shanking a target dummy(on a lvl 50 rogue with single 1.8 dagger) for 100 hits showed the average non-crit increase from 91 to 94. So this is likely still working, but probably not worth it at higher levels.

There is an 'upgrade' in Braided Eternium Chain but it does not have the option of Relics of the Past.
