Not anymore. Master looter decides who should have it.

17/06/2007 pattern just dropped for me in karazhan and ML decided about who should have it.

You don't need any resistance gear for Solarian at all. It used to be needed, but that's no longer the case.

This pattern is very difficult to get, as it has roughly a 1% drop rate, and there are only about 5 or 6 Phantom Valets in Kara at once. If you're trying to get it for transmog, try to find someone with the pattern; if that fails, I suggest logging your tailor out near Kara and trying every few hours. Good luck, I sure haven't had any thus far.

I've recently started scratching my completionist itch for my professions, and I was dreading farming this pattern. According to WoWHead, only the Phantom Valets drop this pattern, and by my count, there are only four of them:

-as you leave The Banquet Hall from fighting Moroes and enter The Grand Ballroom, there is one immediately to the left of the row of archways.
-on the wall to the left of him, there is another.
-just before the stairs up to the second level, there is a 3rd.
-in front of the hallway leading to The Guest Chambers (the hallway at the end of which you find the Maiden of Virtue), is the last.

With the drop rate reported here, I figured this would take awhile, but I managed to get this pattern to drop from me on my 41st recorded kill on my tailoring toon. Hopefully this means they nerfed the drop rate for everyone! If not, it is possible to zone in, kill the four mobs you need, zone back out, reset the instance, and repeat until you hit your 5/hour limit. You can then wait it out and do it all over again. This would make the grind a lot more efficient than simply trying only 4 mobs per week!

I got this after about 15 kills and another guy after 41 kills, so don't let the low drop rate scare you off. Also, you can kill the 4 mobs and run out and reset it, making the farm fairly easy and quick.

I think I was really lucky with the drop, I got it after 12 tries. For those who wants to farm as Lynzatron suggested, please remember not to kill any boss so they can spawn when you have resetted. Unfortunately it cost me a week, after I noticed what I did with boss kill, so please remember that and don't kill any boss, good luck.

I just received this pattern after 5 instance resets - so approximately 20 valet kills. Perhaps the drop rate has been changed?

Easiest patterns to get honestly nearly 1% on 4 mobs? and unlimited tries and only takes around 3-4 minutes a run I got both patterns on 2 characters in less than 1 hour of farming

The drop rates for the two soulcloth patterns in Karazhan, Patron : Epaulières d'âmétoffe and Patron : Gilet d'âmétoffe, are probably much better than the 0.3% and 0.8% WoWHead reports. WoWHead gets their data from players who are running their data app, and calculates the drop rate from those returns. They generally do not factor in who is eligible to obtain the item and who is not. These two patterns drop only for tailors. I'd estimate that the drop rate for tailors is at least three times better than the reported drop rate.

This is consistent with how often I've seen the patterns drop, how much effort it has taken to farm them (easier than it seemed it would be), and how the other posts talk about getting the item relatively quickly.

Just an update (28-06-2018):
Soulcloth Vest recipe has dropped from a Phantom Valet in Karazhan on the second floor of the Ballroom on my 5th attempt.

Before killing all bosses, note that you can kill and loot all 4 Phantom Valet in the first and second-floor ballroom and return to the gate to reset the trash mobs. No need to farm once a week! Didn't realize this so I logged on my other tailor to farm it, and it dropped.

Do not let this drop-rate deceive you from farming this recipe!
And it ONLY drops for those who have their professions set as TAILOR.

Confirmed drop from Phantom Valet on 1 Feb 2019, after 65 recorded kills. The Soulcloth Shoulders dropped on my very first run through the ballroom/balcony, and 16 runs later, this pattern dropped as well.

Got the shoulders on my 22nd reset today of the 4 mobs, Vest on the 28th. (not counting the dozens of kara runs before I was after them)

Ugh ... Farming for this is relativity easy since you can enter, kill the 4 Phantom Valet and run back out, however it doesn't take too long so you're stuck waiting since you can only do 10 instances per 1 hour.

Really wish they would up that or something!

Enter Karazhan at the normal entrance (not the side entrance). Don't kill any bosses. Just run up the stairs into the Grand Ballroom (the first room only) and then the Banquet Hall behind it upstairs both have the Valet fantôme (standing against the walls) & Domestique fantôme (standing in a circle, 2 groups downstairs & 2 groups upstairs). for both Patron : Gilet d'âmétoffe & Patron : Epaulières d'âmétoffe. Kill them, then run outside and reset & repeat. (No 30 minutes reset wait.)

Got Patron : Gilet d'âmétoffe on 1st run (Mythic 10p)
Got Patron : Epaulières d'âmétoffe after 3 Mystic 10p, 1 Mystic 25p, then got it on my first Heroic 25p.

6 runs total.
