Any idea if you have to have the correct level of blacksmithing to get these to drop? I've farmed them these guys a few times and have never seen them, but I wasn't at 360 Smithing yet, so that could possibly be the reason. Thoughts?

I farmed for this pattern for about 6+ hours one day, no luck with the drop. Came back the next and got it on my 5th for the day. So be persistant if you want the recipe!

As a Blacksmith, I suggest you use these Plans to level your Blacksmithing from 360 to higher. Other 360+ Plans require most likely a reputation. For example Aldor and Scryer. The time spend on getting at least friendly or even honored (for the 100% skillup chance) could be better spend at an item more profitable, with cheaper mats. These Plans seem to have a decent droprate, making it the best, cheapest, and most profitable to level your Blacksmithing from the ''200g or higher'' gap from 360-375.

Drops from Murkblood Raiders. Drop rate is not all that low really.. Dropped on 3rd kill for me. Set is a rather nice pally set but there are better items out there. good for leveling bsmithing. good luck to others that it doesnt drop right away for.

Took me about 200 kills before i dropped. Very easy spot to farm. They usually come 2 at a time. They are very easy to kill. Be sure to wait between the pull because they can stack a couple sunders making you a little squishy.

As told before by someonelse, go counterwise and you should have no problem finding them. There is 3 patrol (2 in each) and the rest are alone. Respawn rate is also good. You can get on a same farming run about 20 of them before you go for another run.

Drop rate was pretty bad for me. It took about 5 hours of farming across two days to get this. To compare.... I had about 400 netherweave when I was done so judge accordingly.

On my third day of attempts, about 6 hours put in so far. 20 stacks of netherweave, a Furies card, some greens, around 100 Halaa dust and I've gone to Honored with Kurenai doing nothing but farming this mob. I'd give all of that up for the pattern that hasn't dropped yet......

Did I mention I've done almost the entirety of level 68 on this? 600k+ xp....

While farming for these plans, you'll get good rep with Kurenai. I was getting 11 rep per kill, as a human with the rep bonus.

Last night went there for first time. On 3rd kill the plans dropped. BOP item. I am lvl 67 and my blacksmith / axesmithing is at lvl 342.

I stored it in the bank, not sure if this belt will ever be helpful or if dungeon drops will be better for plate wearer's.

According to mats prices on my server, farming this recipe is the cheapest way to get to 375 BSing. Right now I've killed about 150 of these buggers. Still no recipe =(

Really easy farm for me. I guess I am just very lucky. Took about 50 kills and less than 30 minutes and the plans dropped. I was at 360 BS when they dropped and at 372 they're still yellow.

Nice 'cheap' way to get to 375 BS if you don't already have the Felsteel gloves pattern. If you're looking to save gold, however, don't look to this pattern to take you to 375 for free. Go for the Felsteel gloves drop.

Once I found out where these drop, I decided to spend some time farming for them. I thought it would take a while to get them, but I got them on my 5th or 6th kill. So yea, I got lucky, but it is manageble.

Also started to farm for the boot pattern. I got 2 BoE blue drops before the pattern...which has yet to drop after about 5 hours. Karma...damn...

the droprate is off, but because these are mainly farmed by blacksmiths, its not that far off. just reading through this comments section and my own experience the rate appears closer to .6, granted three times better than whats listed. what a rush when it finally drops though.

I've been farming here for 3 days now, must have killed over 500 raiders in that time, if gained Kurenai reputation is any indication, but so far, no plans. I'm beginning to doubt if they will ever drop.

Edit: They finally dropped. I almost suffered a heart attack when they did, I was so chuffed!

Dropped for my paladin on the 75th or so kill. Very easy grind, just follow the path around the village. Even as a retribution paladin with 18 total spell damage I was killing off the smaller adds along the way with one consecrate + retribution aura. The mobs respawn pretty fast, and the first ones had usually respawned by the time I circled back around to where I started.

Dropped for me after roughly 500 kills. Took me quite some time, but in the process i gained almost 6000 rep with Kurenai, ~120 Gold, ~700x Netherweave Cloth, ~90x Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Sample and ~35 greens.

So, even though it takes a while to farm, it's not that boring considering you'll get alot of other items and reputation meanwhile.

I have 360 skill and this crap recipe hasnt dropped for me in 600 kills all i get is a super mana pot. Im thinking after last patch that the recipe doesnt drop off of these anymore.

Dropped for me on my 2nd visit to farm there, I'm figure about 60-80 kills to get it in total.

Got a lot of green drops, bundles of Netherweave and the usual greys.

Less than an hour of fun killing in total for me, I would recommend farming this ahead of trying to solo farm the felsteel gloves plans!

I should also add that I used this as an opportunity to skill up in Axes (low skill 275), thus I was getting plenty of misses, had I used my swords in dual wield (350) it would have been faster - more like 40 mins or so to farm this!

really easy to get, got plans after 5 mins of farming (i feel a bit lucky). turns yellow at 370 but really worth of try to make these up to 375 (now i feel more lucky since i got last 5 skills from 5 belts).

Well, I am becoming bitter! I must've been farming these yokes for about a day or two, game time, and still no drop.

I've ground the raiders - and the other mobs plus the odd alliance player - for two to three hours straight more times than is healthy. I'm starting to think they will never drop :(

There's no hidden class requirement tied to this? I don't have to be a pally blacksmith for them to drop, do I?

But like several above posters have stated - to grind these mobs is very easy. They are simple melee mobs and the trash near them drop in one or two hits.

Edit: Finally got it this morning. It's just a matter of being patient - keep at it for long enough and the plans will drop.

Got the plans in about 1-2 hours of farming the raiders, plenty of netherweave dropped in that time, more than enough to gain more bandages than i was using (70 warrior :> )

After about three days of farming for two or three hours a day, I finally installed a kill-counting mod, just to keep myself from going too nuts... got the plans on my 50th kill exactly O_O

As a Fury Warrior, I noticed that with all the Scavengers, which you can pretty much one-shot, that you can alternate 3-pulls of scavengers and victory rush them all (for a ton of free rage), and then hit the Raiders with BT/WW/HS nice and easily. Basically, if everything has respawned, you can pretty much go through the entire camp with endless rage >:-) (This method is great for leveling weapon skills too, especially 2h'ers, since you get so many extra swings.)

This pattern dropped for me when I was doing the quests for the Maghari Procession thats nearby. It was only about 10-15 kills in and then the plans dropped. So the drop rate is wrong on here. As someone stated before you need to be a blacksmith for the plans to drop.

EDIT: This plan is the cheapest way to lvl your blacksmithing from 370-375. On my server it cost around 40g to get all the mats to make one belt, so it was 200g total to get the last five points.

For those of you farming the plans, bear in mind that it appears the Raiders, Scavengers and Putrifiers do not share spawn points. So you can either do full clears for rep, or just focus on the Raiders alone.

The place to go to farm for this plan is Sunspring Post in Nagrand - it's west of Halaa sitting on the shore of the lake. The mobs you want are the Murkblood Raiders - they're dressed in skeletal black plate mail.

At any one time there can be as many as 19 up:

1 in the main building with Ortor.
4 guarding the entrances to the main building.
1 with a Scavenger pack next to the main building.
6 in 3 different 2-man patrols that mosey up and down the streets.
1 outside the building the Mag'har captive.
3 around the big stones surrounding the bonfire.
1 outside the ruined house close to the lake.
2 outside the house with the Kerunai captive.

The raiders do not share spawn points with the scavengers or the putrifiers. If you're careful, you should be able to pull the raiders that are standing beside the scavenger packs without aggroing the scavengers - but often times I didn't worry about it - a single cleave or thunderclap would kill any scavengers (at level 85).

It took me 242 raider kills to get the pattern along with 152 scavengers and 118 putrifiers. I'd get bored and just to have something to do I'd kill the other mobs while waiting for respawns. Dropped on 5/20/2012 - patch 4.3.4.

I got all 3 plans in less than 2 hours. The belt plans was the first to drop in Nagrand after the second kill of a Murkblood Raiders. The pants plans was second in Shadowmoon valley after about the 6-8 kill of Deathforge Guardians. The boots plans dropped in Nether Storm after about the 10th Disembodied Protector kill.

No one has submitted any math for this topic. So, for you math lovers, check this equation for accuracy:

Drop rate x # of mobs/respawn time= %per chance per minute. Then divide 100% by the % per minute to get the amount of minutes it should take a person with average luck to find the drop. Here is what I calculated (and it would be great if someone checked my thinking!).

0.17% (drop rate) X 16 mobs (which is how many Murkblood Raiders that I counted spawn... I didn't see 19 as mentioned above) / 4 minutes (which is approximately how long it takes them to respawn. Then that all figured into to the % per minutes means that it should take a person with average luck 2.5 hours to farm the plans. This is interesting because most of the comments on time agree with this.

Also, if you're farming the Oshu'gun Powder samples, they drop at rate of 13%, so in that same amount of time you should incidentally grind about 73 samples... my luck was worse, and I only ground 34, but it still beat chasing herds around knowing I was also farming the plans.

The Ecumeur bourbesang appear to (re)spawn in fixed locations, making the farming loop quite predictable. Unfortunately they respawn far slower than a 110+ toon can kill them.
Took me just under 25 mins on a 120 slowpoke DK. Also, I suspect the drop rate has been considerably increased at some point after Cata, I spent hours during WLK trying to acquire Outlands recipes, including this one.

Farming for the various Knorium Plans today. Second-up were Plans: Khorium Belt. Toddled over to Sunspring Post to kill Murkblood Raiders, which is the only Mob that has a chance to drop it.

A bit difficult for this Grind, it's a popular spot for Quests and grinding Kurenai/Mag'Har reputation, so there is some competition, as well as few spawn points for the Raiders, AND they don't respawn very quickly. If you manage to find yourself mostly alone, and are sufficiently high level, you can just trash everything and pick up misc. Greens and a bit of gold, as well as Netherweave cloth, with fairly quick Reputation gains. Good overall place to Grind in Nagrand.

This was a bit faster than the Khorium Boots Plan Farming, requiring only 129 Murkblood Raiders to be ground into hamburger before the Plans dropped. Oddly enough, contrary to what a previous poster had noted, I killed over 300+ Murkbloods in the area and not ONE dropped any Oshu'gun Powder Samples.

Pretty simple farm. The raider spawn points are fixed, but the force spawn is tied to all the murkblood enemies in the area. So kill everything. There are always at least 25 of them are up at any one time. I was getting full spawns with this route: Big hut->South to the little hut-> east to the next 2 little huts->back to the big hut. Only takes a couple laps for the pattern. Good luck!
