This ring is a quest reward from obtaining reputation with the Violet Eye (Karazhan 10 man raid instance). You acuire them in similar way as AQ40 rings.

This is the exhalted version for any tank.

The poster above has made most of the relevant points about this ring. I will add that it has the highest armor class of any ring in the game, even in its initial form as a blue (with 210 armor class). Combined with the stamina and +defense rating, this ring should be a goal of any tank in the game, regardless of class (Pally, Druid, Warrior).

While this ring would be of huge benefit for any tank. I believe any feral druid should make obtaining one of these a very strong goal. With the dire bear's 450% bonus to armor this ring will give you 1375 more armor, without considering thick hide and with Heart of The Wild it will give you 39.6 stamina points

As a feral druid I considered the melee ring for a second, but there are lots of rings available with almost as good stats for cat form. There are far fewer rings with these kind of bear tanking stats. The closest are:

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24151, which drops in the ramparts, non-heroic, but has significantly less stam.

The one I really want to add to this is:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27895#M0z, once I hit over 22K armor (after the nerf) I find that physical damage is not ever a problem so resists become a priority.

In any case, any feral druid who doesn't choose the path of the violet protector will be sorry.

Armour: 392 (1960 in Bear. 2156 with Thick Hide.)
Stamina: 37 (46.25 in Bear. 55.5 with Heart of the Wild.)

with Druids gaining passive crit immunity from talents i wonder what rings will become "more viable" as having needed stats.... this ring now only has armor and stam that I would need... the defense is a wasted stat point for druids (in my opinion).... :(

If you are on the respective quest but have misplaced (deleted) your violet signet, you may delete the quest to re-obtain the signet from Archmage Leryda.
