Got this item on my 4th normal run. I just reset the instance and kept going in. These days its super easy. Since this item drops from last boss you can run through killing the others and pull all the mobs. When you get to the boss room if you attack the adds there you are then able to attack the boss straight away where as usually you have to wait for his very long RP speech.

This pattern dropped off Kael'Thas after a couple normal resets - if you're still farming for this pattern, don't give up.. it still drops! :)

This pattern finally dropped for me today off of Kael'thas in Magisters' Terrace. I had it set to normal so I could reset the instance over and over (and I lost count of how many times I did it). You can only clear it on heroic once a week, but you can reset the normal version as many as 5 times an hour. They do still drop! Good luck!
