This is becoming the hardest enchant for me to attain.
The dragons that drop this cast a breath attack that can be counterspelled. Sometimes they are out of range of CS or attacks even though they can attack you. You must make sure to drag them directly on top of you if you are on a peak because if they die over a cliff they will be stuck out of loot range. The best dragons to farm are the ones getting raised out of the ground as they will be easiest to control and loot.

Actually, with some patience... ok, a lot of patience.. you can get these guys while they are on the ground. Scout around the area and you will find spots where you can see the Frostbrood Spawns encased in ice underground. They are surrounded by several Wyrm Reanimators. Simply kill off the Reanimators and wait for the Spawns to well.. spawn. If left unkilled, they will fly away.

As a Retribution Paladin, I found it nearly impossible to deal with the flying Frostbrood Spawn. I tried using the Glyph of Exorcism, which does work to interrupt their Frost Breath, but you take so much damage waiting on cooldowns, that it's not worth the effort, even if it was successful. Instead I took to a pattern of "pruning" the Wyrm Reanimators on the ground and dealing with the Spawns there as they begin their ascent. It's true, the Spawn will emerge without any Wyrm Reanimators being alive. If you don't get them soon, within maybe 20-30 seconds, they will begin to fly upward. When they reach a certain height, they will stop and then disappear completely. I found 4 locations where these things spawn, and made a pattern of clearing and maintaining 3 of them that are relatively close together. The 4th is quite a ways away, and probably trivial for an epic flyer ( I don't have one.)

I spent in total about 3-4 hours grinding these things to get the formula. I did make some decent money from grays and cloth that dropped, not to mention the 10-30 silver per mob kill.

Dropped off of a Frostbrood Spawn today. I would venture to say I killed about 100 of them before it dropped. As noted by others I think it is a waste of time trying to pull the ones out of the sky. There are four camps that they spawn from out of the ground. The are easy enough to kill when they spawn just try and be careful because the Wyrm Reanimator's shadow bolts hurt in large quantities.

I saw this drop off the cultists twice in about 5 or 10 minutes. I think the droprate just looks low. The drop rate might go up a bit if more people quested in Icecrown.

i haven't checked for myself yet but it's highly likely that the drop rate IS artificially low because apparently this ONLY dropped off the frostbrood spawns in the beginning and was added to the cultists' drop tables later on - the drop rate to kills ratio is counting kills when the item wasn't on the table yet in addition to kills where it was.

Drops of Cult researchers, annoying grind as they have powerfull manadrain spells that interupt and knockback. I cleared the room 4 times before it dropped for me (about 100kills).

Single npcs and when channeling (!) groups of 3 can be pulled one by one,

By the table, patrol or shared studies they come in pairs

The 3 chatting guys come all 3.

Prepare your class's CC and counterspell skills and bring pots.

As a lvl 80 BM hunter it is easy, just do max burst damage on them one by one at larger groups and have trap ready as they will rush over to mele you when pet looses aggro.

I died twice, first when i did my usual charge, thunderstomp and volley routine and pet was knock backed all over the room and aggroed +10 npcs, when they turned on me I was OOM and dead faster then i could can feign death. Second time happened when a patrol walked in on me as i opened on a group of 3.

All the Enchant Cloak - Superior Nnnnn resistance recipees seem to have a peculiar drop pattern, watch out if you want to farm them:

1: They will only drop to enchanters even though they are not NOP and can be sold on AH (for quite good money).
2: They will not drop for you when you have learned the enchant (i have looted +thousand Damned Aphotecaries and Cult Alchemists levelling pets and i got nature and frost resitance in about the first hundred, none after i learned it :( )
3: Drop rate is about 1% (or chance to drop is 1:100, hope for lady luck but be prepared for the worst).Never tried Frostbrood though, probably better drop rate but worse to grind.

I was doing a quest killing thos cult rechearchers and after only 5 min it dropped ...

I think that this Formula: Enchant Cloak - Superior Arcane Resistance does actually have a very low drop rate for non enchanters. Quite a few people have confirmed this. However, I think if you are an enchanter the drop rate increases ALOT until you have picked up the enchant for yourself, thats if you have it on your person, whether thats in your bag or bank. If you mail to an alt or give to a friend, you can loot it again! I plan on confirming this with a GM later, I'll post back if i get more info. But thats been my experience with this and other boe enchants that are mob specific. Also, it may be while an enchanter is in the group, the drop prioritizes, only letting the person with enchanting roll on it, so as to avoid ninjas, or people to benefit from the drop rate boost of an enchanter in group.

as a 525 enchanter, it took 10 kills of researchers to get my formula.
Prior to killing researchers i had killed 25 Frost spawn and got nothing.

I scan the auction house really regularly, and auctioneer collects statistics on how often it sees items. This is among the most rare items I have seen. Over the last four years (since I last reset my data), I've seen this formula only 10 times, including the one I recently bought. Of course I don't see the ones that are kept rather than sold, or the ones that are posted and snatched up before I have a chance to see them, but that's true for most items. It drops rarely from two mobs in Icecrown, which isn't exactly teeming with players anymore, so if you're looking on the auction house, it's crazy rare.

money wasted I think....all resistance enchants have been removed from my spell book in the Mists beta, and do not appear to have been 'replaced' by anything.

This enchant and all 4 other Formula: Enchant Cloak Superior ******** Resistance have been removed from the game in 5.0.4. These are the ones that dropped from the Icecrown mobs. A GM confirmed this for me when I ticketed regarding auctions of these that I had up on patch night that were returned to me as a blank mail. I also checked my enchanting plans ingame and the 5 of them are no longer in the list.
