Buffed to 200 spell power, 200 crit raiting in patch 3.0.8, but not covered in the patch notes. Much more on par with the 500 haste from Potion of Speed now! (Still 15 seconds duration.)

Potion of Speed will benefit you better (as an arcane mage). If you're having lag problems, I suggest you use Dead Reckoning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Client-side_prediction)

As a shadow priest:

You should (re)-cast SW:P when you use this assuming 5/5 shadow weaving and imp scorch because it gains bonus damage from the crit which stays when mind flay refreshes it.

As to patch 3.0.8, with its stats having been buffed to +200 crit and +200 SP, this has become the best DPS potion for Retribution paladins, slotting the Insane Strength Potion out of its "rightful" place. :)

For optimal dps, arcane mages are effectively capped at 20% haste, possibly lower. 20% haste puts your arcane blast at a 2 sec cast, add in the 1 sec GCD, and you've got 3 seconds, exactly the cooldown of barrage. Any more haste, and you'll be stuck waiting for your barrage to cooldown after you've cast blast.

I'd like to point out that the only value behind using Arcane Barrage now is to clear the Arcane Blast debuff; something that can be done almost as well with an "un" Missile Barraged Arcane Missiles. An ABABr rotation is far from optimal dps unless you have almost no int and are at a 4 min Evocate.

Also, your misinterpreting how haste is calculated with regards to cast time. A 20% increase in haste does not result in 20% reduced casting time; if it did that would mean that at 100% haste all your spells would be instant. In order to lower your Arcane Blast to a 2 second cast, you need 25% haste.

Recently I had an alt ding 80 so I used a few of the potions of speed on my shadow priest for a few naxx25 bosses. It was pretty nice so I figured I'd check out this potion for when I don't need more mana for a fight.

I don't know how much the Potion of Speed helped my shadow priest during fight like patchwerk, but using it during heroism seemed to make a difference. Given that, I'm assuming this potion should be pretty nice for those fights.

Don't forget to macro it with an ability so you don't have to take the time to separately drink the potion with an additional mouse click.

Being a boomkin well over the soft-haste cap (592 haste..) this potion really shines for me. Potion of speed does little to nothing for me, but 200 crit means quicker eclipses, and 200 spell power is nothing to scoff at.

I'm not sure which, but one of my add-ons reports that my threat increases by 100% when I drink this. Can anyone confirm this?

As a Moonkin with 1k Haste I can confirm Potion of Speed is better, even at this rate, it's like God-Mode, 1 sec cast Starfires with Bloodlust, Moonkins; dont use this.
