The best place to get this Shoveltusk Ivory is to fly to Howling Fjord and grind the Shoveltusk there.

Best places to find them are:

71, 56 - near Nifflevar
49, 70 - near New Agamand
34, 45 - near Westguard Keep

And also note that they only drop when you have the Quest.

And the drop-rate is way higher when you are on the JC-quest. You will get it in a few kills

Don't be discouraged by the drop chance listed, as said. I'd estimate it at least 50%, both times I did the quest I got it within the first 3 kills on the shoveltusks in Grizzly Hills.

i got mine of the 15th loot, if u go the the small island at "27.7 - 62.8" there are packs running around with +5, much easier to get loot fast... hope this helps u guys!

Got mine on the 2nd drop located on the island of Kumunga. Island Shoveltusk are spread out, but enough to keep ya busy for 10 minutes or so.

The drop looks like a normal junk loot drop, so keep your eye open for it. I killed at least 20 of them before I took a closer look at my bag and realised that I'd got it a long while earlier.

This drop rate absolutely sucked for me , I have the quest and it took me over 40+ Shoveltusk kills to get mine.

Now dropped by the various mammoths in Storm Peaks, hence the rename to "Northrend Ivory".

Now, if Blizzard would only change the text of the quest, which still refers to "Shoveltusk" ivory. In the interim, I think Wowhead's database should include "Shoveltusk Ivory" and reference it back to Northrend Ivory.

Now also drops from Mammoths in Dragonblight. Might be the quickest way to get Northrend Ivory when in Dalaran.

It's also dropped by Shattertusk Mammoths in Scholazar Basin as well. If you get this quest and the one for Rhino Dogs, but don't have Rhino Meat, Scholazar is a good place to find Mammoths AND Rhinos for your ivory and Rhino Meat needs. And while you're ivory hunting, you can get Mammoth meat for Great Feasts and Pet treats as well.

As far as I can tell, this does NOT drop (yet) from the Ironwool Mammoths around K3.

For those of you that attempt to kill the Shoveltusks for this, realize that they don't drop from the ones located in northwestern Howling Fjord. I spent a little under an hour killing these until I decided to go a little further south. I killed the first cluster that I saw and the Ivory dropped.

I normally go for Shoveltusks near Westguard Keep. Drops from first kill almost all the time.

The best place to get this Northern Ivory is the Mammoths closest to dalaran now, The Dragon Wastesand located around the path of the titans.The mammoth calves drop Ivory also. You may find the rare Mammoth there also . I dont know its name but you cant miss the silver around the name.
