Glyph of Felguard: Your Felguard will equip a random two-handed axe, sword or polearm from your backpack.

If you only have one weapon that fits that description in your backpack, will the felguard will always equip that item?

Do the stats on the weapon determine how effective the increase is to your felguard's damage?
Currently, the glyph gives a flat 20% attack power increase. The weapon used does not affect the damage output.

Currently in Beta, this glyph will also work with your Wrathguard- if talented into him. However, it will require two of the same weapon if you want him to dual-wield them (Otherwise he keeps the Hellreaver in his offhand.). Unlike warriors, this guy can dual-wield Polearms.

The weapons you choose have no effect on his damage output.

Just a couple points that I've found from playing around with this.

The weapon is chosen on summoning and will not change until the demon is resummoned (resummoning includes logging in/out of the game and respawning after flying around on your mount).
The wording is important. The weapon you want to use must be in your backpack, the standard 16-slot bag that you've had since you started your character. It will NOT recognize weapons placed in any of your other bags. IMO, this is kind of nice since it allows you to carry multiple weapons around to change things up while still allowing control over which one your demon uses.
It does exactly as it says, and works with any two-handed sword, axe or polearm. The item does not even need to be soulbound so you can grab a weapon off the AH, summon your demon to gain the weapon and then relist it (if you so desired).
Also works with your Grimoire of Supremacy Wrathguard.
You can change both the Main Hand of Off Hand weapons of your Wrathguard as he is a dual-wielding demon.
As of this current beta build, in order for your Wrathguard to dual-wield the same weapon in both hands, you'll need to have two copies of that weapon in your bag. If you only have a single weapon in your backpack, it changes his Main Hand only.
The second temporary Felguard summoned by Grimoire of Service is also affected by this glyph.

Anyone know if you have your pet equip a weapon with a proc on it.. say Ravager , would it be able to proc the effect? I know it's supposedly cosmetic only and stats don't carry over, but a proc really isn't a "stat" per say. would be cool to know =)

I've done a little experimenting and haven't found a polearm that actually looks good on the Wrathguard yet. This might be because of his odd one-handed grip, or because they end up small for the demon's size (which may be related to the first point), but I had very high hopes for Pique du gladiateur sans pitié and it doesn't look right at all when he's gripping them near the business end. I <3 polearms, but I'm going to have to search around for something that still looks good with the above two caveats. Til then it's swords for me.

Regular Info
- Applies to Demonology Specialization @ Lvl 42.
- Item level for weapon doesn't matter, (example: your level 42 and you have a BOE item that you want to use and its a Lvl 80 usable only, you would be able to use such weapon as long as it fits the criteria (2h swords, 2h axes, polearms).
- The weapon you want to use for your daemon must be in your 16 slot starter bag.
- To re-change weapons for your daemon, you must re-summon your daemon.
- 2h sword, 2h axe or polearms are only allowed, does not require item to be equipped, BOE are allowed just as long as you have it in your bags.
- It only takes the appearance of the two handed weapon and not the weapon + enchant (Confirmed)*
- If you have multiple weapons it will choose a random weapon each time you summon your daemon.

Felguard Info
- Invocation de gangregarde only uses a 2h weapon, it only will choose a random 2h usable weapon from you bag.
note: if there isnt any applicable weapon in your bags, Felguard will use Faucheuse en arcanite as the generic weapon.

Wrathguard Info
- Invocation : garde-courroux uses as a main hand and an off-hand. It will randomly pick a 2h usable weapon for a main hand, and one for the off-hand.
note: if only one applicable weapon is in your bags, it will only use that weapon as a main hand and the off-hand will be the generic Déchireuse de l'enfer, if you dont have any applicable weapons, it will use the generic Déchireuse de l'enfer as main hand & Off-Hand.
- If you want your Invocation : garde-courroux to dual wield two of the same weapon (example: two Tombe-nuit you would need to have two Tombe-nuit in your bags for your daemon to equip them both.)

Talents Info:

My Felguard can wield a rusty pitchfork alright (made a new DK alt to farm it :D).
A pity it holds the wepon too close to the business end and actually uses it to slice, not to stab...

And the Wrathguard will happily equip two wooden swords, but again, glows don't carry over, so no General Grievous for me =(

Don't count on 2h mace and/or staffs to be in this list any time soon if ever. Main reason I see this is because they don't want Felguards/Wrathguards wielding/dual-wielding any Legendary weapons. Might be able to equip the 2h axes, but unless it's possible, I don't think Locks can do the Shadowmourne questline for the axe. I shall test this out once I get max level tho, currently level 55.

On another note, any enchants currently on the weapons in your bags will not show up on the weapons when the guards equip them, and unless my randomness sucks, the item must be in the actual 'Backpack' and not in any other pouch you have for storage. Hopefully Blizz will change this. As for needing more than one of said weapon for Wrathguards to equip two of them, I'm unsure, gotta be 75 for the grimoire talent to summon those.

Also, you do not need to be the required level in order for your guard to wield the weapon, hope they don't change this, plus it does not bind the item to the player if it is a BoE. Fingers crossed they don't change either of these options, especially the second.

I highly recommend having your wrath guard dual-wield Courroux des flammes

The pole-arm has a nice flame effect that will display on your wrath or felguard.

The glow is similar to fiery weapon enchant and since its part of the model itself, the effect will appear when your demon wields it.

This pole-arm is very easy to get if you have Télécommande navrebière.

1.. Use your remote,
2. Agro the bar to open the back door out of the grim guzler.
3. Then go to the balcony, and the boss that drops this is in the room on the left hand side.

Lame de guerre de Lantresor is my preferred choice of weapon. Problem is, for a wrathguard to dual wield the same model you need two, so will have to also get Dolescie de Main-Noire which is annoying because it seems to be a rare drop from Rend Blackhand.

The glyph now allows your demon to equip maces. This change was likely made because you can now also change swords to maces through transmog. So nice of them to allow it this way rather then us having to transmog something to get the same effect.

Though would have been nice to have the text updated.

After an accidental discovery i found that this glyph does work with 2 Handed Maces, at least with the wrathguards.

I'm not sure why this hasn't been already mentioned, but if you use this glyph with your Wrathguard, he will wield two weapons... until you use Lancer de hache on someone not in melee range. Upon using Lancer de hache on a distant target, he will quite literally throw his offhand weapon at the target, meaning he actually loses that weapon from his off-hand (realistic but lulzy).

This is purely cosmetic, as through testing on training dummies I have confirmed that he doesn't actually do any less/more damage after throwing his weapon. Subsequent uses of Lancer de hache won't make him lose his remaining weapon.

Any time his model is re-instantiated, such as via a hard resummon or using Œil de Kilrogg, his lost weapon will return.

If you want to have some oldschool fun you can keep two Faucheuse en arcanite in your backpack... as soon as you use Lancer de hache he will lose his off-hand weapon, meaning that he will be single-wielding the same 2-hander as if he was your Felguard.

I have been using Sulfuras, Main de Ragnaros as my Felguards weapon of choice since the transmog changes went into effect long ago. Starting in 5.4 the legendary no longer appears to work. Some two hander weapons not listed in the glyph still work.

No word yet on whether this is a bug or stealth nerf. So if you are thinking about making it, I would hold off until we get a definitive word on this either way.

First of all, about our dear Felguard (or Wrathguard if you are using )
The Felguard are the Burning Legion’s race of rank and file demonic soldiers conscripted from the mo’arg species.
The Wrathguard are members of the man’ari eredar specias that act as an honor guard for the more important members of their race, leaders of the Burning Legion.

And the weapons they use:

Dual-wielded by Wrathguard

At this point, you are using Glyphe de gangregarde because you want a new look on your guard, but what if you want to put a bit of RP on it?
Some weapons are on this list by their name, are drops from relevant demons, or are wielded by multiples mobs in-game. (Note: remember that the glyph only works with Two-Hands)

- Guerroyante
Once wielded by the felguard Taragaman the Hungerer, ancient boss of Ragefire Chasm.
The doomguards Kazzak the Supreme and Highlord Kruul uses both a blue version of it, sadly there’s no blue version in-game (only red, green, full black).
- Estramaçon en gangrefer
A slim version of Guerroyante. lol
- Lame de malchance
'World drop' from a zone called Hellfire Peninsula, need more?
- Faux de guerre

This works with poor quality items too, so if you're picking up vendor trash and resummon your minion for whatever reason, it may be vendor trash items.

I've found 2 bugs regarding this glyph:

1) Neither enchants nor illusions will work.

2) Weapons equiped by a Wrathguard get downscaled in size as opposed to a Felgauards. I used Armageddon for this. You can see the comparison in the screenshots

P.S. Apparently you can no longer use legenadies (didn't confirm myself).

I just discovered today that my wrathguard wields two identical 2h weapon if I only have one in backpack. No more need for having two pieces of same weapon. If you have two (or more) different 2h weapons in backpack he will still equip different weapons in each hand (if you have more then two he will pick two randomly). Btw, he also "equips" 2h maces now, so the Torche des damnés I kept in my bank for so long now it have a use (added picture).

If you use Wrathguard's Axe Throw while a custom weapon is being held, the weapon disappears and the Wrathguard only uses one weapon. It is very frustrating, and the only reason I don't use this glyph more often. I hope Blizzard fix this. I do not know if it affects the Felguard, though.

When I equipped the glyph I kept the weapons I wanted my Felguard to use in my default Backpack after reading older comments. I noticed by chance when I went to the vendor that my Felguard had equipped a weapon from one of my other bags. After moving some stuff around and re-summoning several times I can confirm : You no longer need to keep weapons you want your demon to use specifically in your default backpack.

Maybe someone here can help me out since the GM I spoke to was of absolutely no help. I got this glyph on my new lock just after Legion came out and after much searching, I had found the weapon i wanted it. There is 2 ways to get the weapon (Lame de guerre de Lantresor Tranche-destin de Main-Noire, i could either do a dungeon or a quest. Problem is, with the dungeon one, i actually wouldnt be able to loot it since its personal loot.. and wouldnt drop for a warlock. Couldnt get someone to join me that COULD loot it because im unable to equip it so cant trade it.
SO i went to Nagrand to get the quest item. Did all that, went back to turn it in and IT WASNT EVEN AN OPTION TO CHOOSE IT. Its just not there. Asked a GM about it and they couldnt understand what i was saying so i just said thank you and let it be.
So. HOW THE FUDGE am i meant to get any of those weapons for my Felguard to use? Seeing as i can only use one-handed swords, staves, daggers.. wands? Im using Hellreaver cos, at the time, the dungeon wasnt forced with personal loot and was able to get it. If its all personal loot now, is this glyph only for weapons you either already have or BoE? Can you even use BoE weapons? Since.. you have to equip them for them to be bound to you. Maybe I can buy pvp weapons and use them? Idk!

A comment on that glyph states that if you use "Glyph of Felguard" and then replace it with "Wrathguard", your demon will have the new appearance, but keep the "Felguard" effect as well. It's presumed to be a bug, but I doubt anyone is complaining. Customization!

I can't confirm that, but I did switch my glyphs long ago and my "Wrathguard" changes his weapon with one in my bag, so it's likely true. Regardless, only 2H Maces, Axes, Swords, and Polearms work. Staves do not. As long as you can get an eligible weapon in your inventory, it should work.

Any quality of weapon (besides Legendaries, reportedly) will work. This includes Heirlooms. However, any added enchants/xmog will not show. You will only see the weapon in its native state equipped.

If you can't be bothered farming old raids, you can always go and buy an old expansion PvP weapon with 5x marks of honor and keep that in your bags for the felguard to use. I went and bought Brutal Gladiator's Greatsword, it matches the Felguard's theme pretty well and was way easier than farming Sunwell to try to get something!

Is it only since newer patches or why are the 2H weapons so small? I have the Estramaçon de l'Ignescence in my bags and it looks like a 1H at my Felguard :(

Fun fact, I recently found out that the item Ciseaux de couture à ressort en draconium actually works for this glyph. I'm unsure if it's because I had previously equipped them (as my warlock is tailoring) and kept it in my bag but my Felguard/Wrathguard runs around with scissors and it's glorious.
