I think blizzard did a mix-up. Someone should really check into this.

If you compare Battlelord's Plate Boots with Spiked Deathdealers

You can see that the DPS plate boots got 69 strength vs Tanking boots 85 strenght
furthermore DPS plate boots got 126 stamina vs tanking plate boots 103 stamina

If you compare Belt of the Titans with Indestructible Plate Girdle

You can see that the DPS plate belt got 69 strenght vs tanking plate belt got 84 strength
furthermore DPS plate belt got stamina 126 vs tanking plate belt 103 stamina

Looking at all other plate items, tanking items have had more stamina and less strenght (or attack power) than a comparable dps item.

I for one think blizz switched the 2 stats on both the boots and belt.

When's the last time you were rage-starved tanking something in Naxx or later? These plans drop in Ulduar, and if you aren't using Heroic Strike every 1.6 seconds I'm curious what your rotation is. Rage starvation should not happen in a boss situation.

Tanks want dodge, period. Red gem sockets should be at least tilted toward dodge for the socket bonus, and you should get the dodge shoulder enchant from Sons of Hodir. If dodge rating isn't one of the most important stats to you, you're gimping yourself and your raid.

tbh, tanks should never socket pure dodge.. or strength either, the only stats you want on your gems are blue: stamina, red: either 8exp/12stam or 8dodge/12stam and yellow: always the 8exp with a decission between dodge/exp/defense on the side..

because of the diminishing returns theres no point in stacking up on evasion, i got around 47% dodge+parry in a raid but its actually not even close to that after DR, i dont know the exact number but id say its between 20and 30% at the most..

So i agree with vinnystp that aslong blizz doesnt give us rage from dodging id rather be expertise capped and stacking on stamina..

i havent tried to go full stamina gems in wotlk but i think it can be a good choise due to the DR

Just dropped from Freya 10m hard mode after clearing all the pre-antechamber bosses on non-hard mode and Hodir and Thorim on hard mode.
