Another Engineering item that's marginally useful and will have its usefulness completely removed in subsequent patches. I can't wait! It's like they finally listened to us and gave us what we wanted.

As a little example of the above statement (and to outline its only real possible use as of right now), a Wintergrasp Siege Engine has a base HP of 85,000 without player gear contribution. It will take an Engineer 10 seconds to restore 7000 health to said vehicle.

That's roughly 8.2%.

Seeing as most players don't have the foresight or time to actually drive out of danger if their vehicle is being damaged, we're talking about restoring 8.2% health over time to a vehicle that's under continuous fire by enemy players. Let that sink in for a second.

Maybe the Isle of Conquest will bring about some magical vehicles that actually have survivability value, making Engineers the much-celebrated heroes of victorious battles, but until then I'll let these numbers speak for themselves and cry quietly into my Titanium Toolbox.

Has anyone tested if this counts as a repair causing Unbroken-Normal or Unbroken-Heroic to fail? If not it could easily allow guilds to get the achievements. (That is of course if either A: The run has MANY engineers. or B: If the guild finds it worth waiting for the repairs)

i'd bet anything this'll eventually be nerfed. like all these little toys, they're far from OP and in most cases so under-powered that they aren't worth using... if it's just you.

when you get 15-40 engineers prepared with their various toys and a battle plan... yeah, nerfbat inc. why do you think saronite bombs, which used to do 500 damage to a wall or structure per hit, magically started doing only 150 not too long after the goon squad video hit youtube (they got a 40 engie raid, parachuted into the main courtyard of WG right as the battle started and all started throwing down bombs on the final door)?

generally no one bothers to gather a huge group of engineers to do something gimmicky for pure shock value and giggles... but as soon as someone finally does...

I understand that not all items can be great, but this one is pretty worthless.

I can't think of a single circumstance where using this item will be more beneficial than doing ANYTHING else i could possibly be doing.

1charge... 25g (current AH prices for mats on my server) for a one time heal of 7200 (about 8% on forementioned siege vehicle) seems a bit of a waste...
If it had no charges and a cooldown of 15seconds (and could only be used out of combat for fairness), then I might have made one.

No. failedType = You can't do that right now.
But you CAN use it while in the passenger seats of a demolisher in WG, SotA, IoC, though.

recently found out that when using this and then targeting something else strange things happen.
target self: heal self for 1200 a tick!
target enemy player: spam of "Miss" messages, havent checked combat log to see what is missing
target enemy vehicle or mechanical unit: heal the enemy vehicle or mechanical unit for 1200 a tick
target friendly player or NPC: heal the target for 1200 a tick

I had to write a ticket on this one. I was attacking a tower in WG, took some damage from mobs, got out, killed the mobs, and attempted to use the device to repair the cat.

I clicked on the device in my bags and got the little "glow" around the cursor. Each time I moved the cursor over to the vehicle however, all I got was the green arched arrow which is what you use to get back in. I never was able to repair it.

This would lead me to believe that as it is set up now, you can only repair vehicles you did not just get out of.

Blizzard should really evaluate the usefulness of such items, this would be great if it scaled with % based health and was instant cast, but not too powerful, but significant enough to make people stop and say "well hot damn, engineering is pretty useful"

For example, instantly heal any friendly mechanical unit for 10% total health.

Cannot use on Blingatron 5000. I wanted to see if you could heal a Blingatron after a hard battle with others, to no avail. Not sure if it's a bug or it just doesn't work with newer items. My goal is to finally see a huge Blingatron from the buff they get from killing another Bling.
