This quest line is started by looting Moss-twined Heart from Blackmoss the Fetid in Teldrassil. I assume it is consumed after you use the first time, but I'm saving mine for now. =)

The summoned Timberling is level 7.

The Timberling acts like a Hunter's pet, if a mob attacks you, it will defend you but if you don't attack the target and the Timberling takes it down on its own you will not gain experience or loot.

You can also heal the Timberling.

As a Druid when attacked by many, I let my Timberling attack creature A while I attacked creature B, just make sure you hit creature A one or two times and make sure your pet it at good health, if it isn't just cast a Rejuvenation on it. And continue soloing creature B. Makes grinding/killing easier and faster.

It is not very useful in combat unless you can heal it, but it's your very own cute Timberling and thats special.

Tested this item on the 2.4.3 PTR with mine level 70 character, and it was summoned a level 70 Cleansed Timberling. it hitted for ~75 dmg, critted for 125-150. Not sure how much hp it got. It was abel to tank a Timber Worg for a while without needing healing.

I summoned him in Black temple for a laugh on my main during najentus. he went up and smacked him a couple times then died. Was worth my going and doing the quest just for the pure comedic value of my raid leader saying "what the hell was that pet thing?"

The Cleansed Timberling will disappear when you use a flight path, and since the item disappears when you summon him he'll be gone for good, even if the 20 minutes are far from over. Be careful when you use it.

Really just a fun little temporary combat pet. Not terribly smart or effective, but it's one of those old school easter egg type things in vanilla.

Also disappears if you take the portal from Darnassus to Rut'Theran. I used it before knowing it's only usable once...too bad. Time to look for other combatpets that hardly anyone knows about to surprise my raidleader with just before bossfights.

used it at Yogg saron p3. Rlly funny to watch the little fellow smack a big brain. He died somewhere during the fight for unknown reasons and only did 1k dmg. Still, quite amusing to use.

Since I saw people use this as a fad, on the last percentage of the LK 10man, I summoned this lil' guy and he delivered the killing blow.

Popped this on an ICC25 on Saurfang. The raid flipped trying to figure out where it came from or what it was for.

He lived through the two attempts we did on Saurfang, only did about 12k through it though. I was proud of him.

He seems to have a dislike for critters. I summoned him in moonglad and he was killing every deer and bunny he could find.
