Keystone of the Draenei tier in archaeology that is found randomly while surveying in Draenei dig-sites.
When placed in artifacts keystone slots it is the equivalent of 12 Draenei archaeology fragments

This could be a coincidence, so I just wanted to get some other opinions. I just got to outlands, and I'm finding a ton of draenei tomes compared with comparable items in azeroth. Is the drop rate higher for these (and presumably orc items as well - haven't had any orc digsites yet).

It may be too early to tell, but I've found 10 in my first 5 digsites (15 digs). Which is ridiculous when compared with maybe finding 20 of these sorts of items in my entire 1-300 grind in azeroth.

Interestingly enough, whenever I loot one of these a sound file from C'thun plays, so far I have gotten

"Death... is... Close..."
Your heart.... Will... Explode..."
"You... will... die..."

Anyone else notice this?

With the 4.0.6 change that caps each race's fragment count at 200, it is good to know that you won't lose fragments if your total exceeds 200 using keystones to solve an artifact.

I tested this while surveying Draenei sites and working on Arrival of the Naaru. My fragment count reached 165; I used 3 keystones, bringing my total to 201 and solved. I ended up with 77 fragments after solving this 124-fragment artifact.
201-124=77. No loss! :)

After reading a ton of comments, I felt like I was going crazy because I couldn't find the appropriate checkbox on my DBM. Turns out they took it out and packaged it as a separate addon, DBM-Archaeology.

From Curse:

Originally just put in DBM-Core as a bit of humor during a test phase. The sounds became quite popular and when removed from last DBM release got numerous requests from users wanting them back. Since archaeology sounds don't really belong in the base mod, I decided to bring that feature back in plugin form!.

Now you can enjoy all your old god whispers in your dig sites. What this mod does is play a random C'thun and Yogg Saron whispers from the game files any time you loot a keystone. Archaeology is a profession meddling with the ancient artifacts of azeroth yet no one is paying any mind ot you. This plugin gives archaeology a bit of RP when the old gods whisper you as if they are noticing you meddling with things you should not be, giving archaeology that feel it should have had to begin with.

Hopefully that will save someone the stress of thinking they just couldn't see what was right in front of them, which is the problem I thought I was having.

What is it?
Tome draeneï is the ultimate supplement to getting through your Draenei solves much quicker. To break it down:

It is an archaeological keystone that can substitute 12 fragments for each slot/socket you can place one into
Some archaeology solves will allow for up to three keystones to be used - open your archaeology pane and look for the empty 'sockets' that may appear at the bottom to determine how many you might be able to use
You are not required to use keystones when solving archaeological artifacts, but it certainly can speed up the process
There are some artifacts that will not allow for any keystones at all

Examples:

Bracelet de cheville à clochettes en or = 21 Draenei Archaeology Fragments + 2 Tome draeneï

Where do I get it?
There are only two main sources for Tome draeneï:

Digging - when surveying and digging at archaeological Draenei dig sites in Outlands you will have a small chance to occasionally see one of these along with the Draenei Archaeology Fragments you collect. The following is a list of all known Draenei archaeological dig sites:

What cool items can I use it for?

If you are an archaeologist then you can start digging at Draenei dig sites (when they spawn) and speed up solving Draenei artifacts.

Alternatively, if you don't want to use Tome draeneï yourself, you can sell them on the auction house and make a neat profit.

There are two rare Draenei artifacts:

La dernière relique d'Argus requiring 130 fragments with 3x Tome draeneï that can be used (my 3rd Draenei solve)
Arrivée des Naaru requiring 124 fragments with 3x Tome draeneï that can be used (haven't yet unlocked this)
