J'ai loot ce patron en 5 minutes de farm aux Tréfonds, coordonnées /way 62.56 54.04. sur les Forgesang du Crépuscule. Environ 20 kill avant d'avoir le patron.
Les mobs respawn quasiment instantanément.

Just got this on my main...and other than the jokes we can make about our dear guildy who shares the name, its useless, but fun I guess.

You make the Origami Rock...then click it and place it on the ground...and it makes a...rock. It just sits there for a while being a...rock...and then goes away.

Unless you loot it, and then you get ...... an Origami Rock :)

Its 490 on use though, so I guess it can be used to level Inscription if you havent gotten far yet

It's not all that useless. You can get from 490-500, a pretty dry phase for inscription, with this recipe. It's green during this phase, but the materials are about as easy to get as you could ask form.

basically there should be no real character level requirement to get this.

my warlock was lvl 80 with inscription on 490. even though the quest to enter deepholm was not yet available to him, i was able to take a summon (warlock or meeting stone) to deepholm and kill the mobs there (partially together with other ppl) to get the technique.

The drop rate is slow low on this it's not worth farming for. If you've got your Inscription to 490, spend the time at the AH and make some Eteched Horns instead. I farmed this recipe and the one in Kelp'thar Forest for over and hour and neither dropped.

I went to farm this on my DK and got it in about 15 minutes, apparently luck is everything. I notice that 490 inscription is not needed for the pattern to actually drop for you, as some old world patterns used to require for certain professions.

Dropped from the first mob I killed. I was really put down when I saw all the comments. Don't forget; you need high enough inscription skill for this.

Had an issue being able to loot the mob that had the technique. It kept saying I was too far away. It might of been caused by killing them in mid air just after hitting my Thunderstorm ability. Either way, I exited the game and came back to find the unlooted mob about 10 yards away. First time I've had this happen... so maybe it's related to the drop itself.

Ok... "believe it, or not" case... I just read this coments about 20 min ago and got pretty sad because i already spent a lot of gold to get from lvl 490 to 494... (should see the profession´s spells list first). Anyway, i went to Deepholm around coords 63,55 and started to kill those guys Forgesang du Crépuscule and about 10 min later http://www.wowhead.com/item=65896#dropped-by dropped, 2 more min later Technique : Rocher en origami dropped and i was just healing myself to get back to SW and raise profession when 2 guys respawned and they dropped Figurine de hibou onirique IoI I couldnt belive it, and i needed to get back here and write something about =P
My suggestion? Just go there and try! I wish you guys the same luck.

Obviously, not enough data to draw any conclusions from, but here are two things to think about:

1) The drop rate isn't as bad as the 0.1% show here on Wowhead, because that rate includes kills by non-scribes for whom this will never drop

2) The drop rate seems to be much lower than the rate for Origami Slime.

If I had to hazard a wild guess, I would guess the drop rate for this is around 1-2%, but again I don't really have the data to prove that.

I've been farming for this for the past 2-3 hours from various mobs. Still nothing. /sigh :(

Edit: I later discovered the blasted thing was in my bank, hence why it never dropped. /facepalm.

wolfs comment confirmed. as a 74 goblin shammy with 465 skill (not learning illustrious gm yet) i had a guildy summon me there using 'have group, will travel'. he killed all the mobs for me and i had it within 5 loots.

This item drops in Deepholm. The drop chance should be fairly high as long as you have Inscription; otherwise you will not be able to loot it. You will also not be able to loot it if you already have it on the character you are trying to acquire it with. What level of Inscription you have is irrelevant, as I looted this item with an Inscription level of 1.

I looted mine off a Forgesang du Crépuscule, directly north of Deathwing's Fall.

Farmed for 75 minutes as a 490 scribe. Killed various mobs from the listed droppers. No drop. Just like the old depressing days of grinding for hours.

Before you decide to farm for this technique, look in your bags/banks first!

You've most likely gotten one if you levelled as a scribe.

I did get this without completing even the Warchief's Command quest to Uldum. So you don't actually have to do the quest. I estimate it was about 25-30 mobs before it dropped off a Rabid Hyena for me.

Okay so this is important!

In case there is any human being in the world being even half as dumb as me, note this:

Yesterday I wanted to farm this recipe from the given mobs, where Forgesang du Crépuscule seemed to be the best (and I really think they are).
After about 10-15 minutes though, I thought I'd give up for now and try again tomorrow.
Just now I farmed for about another 15 minutes before I remembered: I had found one recipe once, which I even still had in my inventory! Guess which one it was? -.- Right, Technique : Rocher en origami!

Conclusion seems to be: You can't find the same recipe twice! Maybe this is a known fact, but for me it wasn't.

I killed about 6 of the Twilight Bloodsmiths or whatever near Deathwing's Fall so it took me about 1 minute and then I looted it after about 3 minutes of being in Deepholm :D much easier when level 90!

For me it dropped off an Elemental Overseer. Killed about 20 mobs before the recipe dropped.

This dropped off a Twilight Bloodsmith at (62,54) just north of Deathwing's Fall.

Killed 13 mobs total:
2x Elemental Overseer
11x Twilight Bloodsmith

The respawn rate is super quick so you won't have to stray very far from a small area.

As of January 13, 2014, I can confirm that the Twilight Bloodsmith at (62,54) is exceptionally quick for a farm. They respawn almost as soon as they die, and in total I killed:

8xTwilight Bloodsmith
2x Living Blood

And wham, there it was.

As of 1-26-2014 I can also confirm that this will drop off the Twilight Bloodsmith's, located in Deepholm. Roughly 20-25 kills later. They're basically instant respawns so you certainly won't be there long. Right above the letter W in Deathwing's Fall is where the mobs are located, in case you don't use coordinates. Good luck! :)
