This and Bentilac's Fuseau à soie d'araignée will be a very interesting tanking set.
The wording is kind of vague thou, i wonder is it's a shield with a value of the damage tanken 6s before reaching 50%, or if it's a shield that absorbs 50% of whatever damage you take for 6s once you reach 50% health.

I wonder if this would get crazy absorbs from something like Chimaeron/Baleroc decimates, or killing blows with GS or AD up. Looks like a good all around trinket, especially if you don't highly favor pure mastery like Warriors and Paladins do currently.

It would also be interesting if you would want to take extra damage before spike damage to proc it. You could use the /sit emote to force yourself to be crit to proc the trinket, and get healed up with the shield. Kind of dangerous, though.

This seems to be part of a shared loot table along with a number of other trinkets for the first 6 bosses of Dragon Soul and several rings (much like the shared loot weapon table in firelands).

Hopefully this will only proc off melee hits taken and not from the insignificant bits of aoe damage flying around in encounters, as a combo of both could give you a tiny absorption shield of no use from the aoe instead of the large one from the melee hit (this could also occur if the cooldown finishes while you're under 50% and something hits you for trivial damage).

Always nice to see smart proc design. Most of the time a tank won't drop bellow 60-70% health through boss melee alone, and if something big enough comes along to take you bellow 50%, a boss special attack for example, the trinket instantly counters with a huge absorb shield.

However if you are being nibbled to death ever so gently, say because you agroed Durotar Boars, then the trinket won't save you since it'll absorb maybe 1-2 damage.

Most definitely going to be the tank trinket in Dragon Soul. Huge stamina (+112 more than last tier's normal stam trinket) is always nice; you can't go wrong taking more stam as a tank. But the shield proc is what really wins me over. It happens at 50%, which means it's going to proc very often, unlike Beth's trinket from Firelands which really only happened when you were about to die, making the trinket not very good on fights where you weren't in danger of going that low. Falling below 50% happens a lot more often than falling below 35%, and I wouldn't be surprised if this trinket procs almost on cooldown, which makes its contribution to your EH much higher. The shield also scales with damage taken. Instead of a flat absorb, you get half the damage taken (from the hit that brought you below 50%) as a shield. A lot of fights have that spike damage where you go from 100 to 40% in one blow, and if you have this trinket on when that happens you get an absorb for 30% of your health. The shield only lasts 6 seconds, so you won't be soloing bosses or anything stupid like that, but 6 seconds is long enough for you to get healed to full without being in any danger of dying.

My only complaint: as of right now, this item is on a shared loot table for the first six bosses. Meaning, all of those bosses have their own individual loot and every time they die they have a chance of dropping an item on the shared table instead of one of their normal loots. That means items on shared loot tables are a lot rarer than ones that come from specific bosses. Last tier, secondary items that only certain specs of certain classes could use were included on shared loot tables (think EoP). Having a BiS trinket like this clearly is be so rare doesn't sound fun. Just ask all those enhance shamans who never saw an Eye.

The threshold of the proc is too high.... 50%

Seems like the proc will be wasted nearly every time it happens.

Would have been better with threshold of 35% like older trinkets similar to this

If you want to have to remember to react in time to click "on use" trinkets when you find yourself at 15% health on a heroic encounter, be my guest

IMO it's hard enough to react fast enough to activate your CLASS cooldowns in situations like that on progression attempts, let alone trinkets too.

I'd much rather have a trinket that procs at 35% and eats a large hit for me automatically, GIVING ME EXTRA TIME to activate my own CDs (and my healer too) and survive.

This POS will constantly be on CD from boss autoattacks or random spam, meaning its never gonna be there when you absolutely positively have to survive for 2 more seconds or its a wipe.

Hey, so i got this last week and have been going through the data from the WoL covering this trinket. The buff is called Indomitable, and it says in the spell detail that it only absorbs physical damage; while the trinket states an absorb shield with no specifications on the type of damage it will absorb, the buff calls for only physical damage. Has any one else been looking into this? I was looking at our guilds Ultraxion kill and the shield absorbs are very low considering how much the twlight hits for.

Mitigated ~200k damage on my guild's Morchok heroic kill on a DK tank (each time for around ~43k).
That doesn't sound like much, but it definitely saved the tank's life in at least half of proc cases.

This trinket is ridiculously overpowered in certain fights for a prot paladin. Our raid's strategy for Madness is Green, Red, Yellow, Blue. We have to pop raid cooldowns on the last platform for bolt and I have to take an impale without immediate heals since everyone is on the other side of the platform. It's tricky timing with the impale and elementium bolt, but if you get impale to hit you while above 50% with ardent defender saving your death, the resulting shield is incredible, lasting the full 6 seconds even with everything going on.

quite a decent trinket for ultraxion.. much like baelroc where Talisman du soubassement was actually perfect for the encounter.. single tanking deci blades every 30 seconds on the dot pretty much.. this trinket is one of the only stam ones that makes perfect sense.

Dropped today from Zon'ozz for my feral tank. I equipped it immediately and noticed it working on hagara and ultraxion. It was far more useful on Hagara though. Two healers in tombs and I didn't move quickly enough to avoid all of the focused assault... but this trinket kept my mistake from causing a wipe. Couple this with the mastery proc one (hopefully someday) and I'll be loving life :)

At the moment I am using this on my druid tank and like some previously posted on certain fights it makes a huge difference whilst on others it can simply waste away by chance,even so on fights like madness where we do it it with one tank its one of the best trinkets to use for certain spells like Impale,It helps me alot by absorbing the sometimes huge hit into a very healthy chunk of shielding(if that is a word),so I will use it hands down each time instead of the spine dodge one
