- does it give flat threat ?

Got this earlier today, its funny to use when players are near by, youll see /1 light up saying stuff like "I HEARD NPC SCAN GO OFF BUT I CANT FIND THE RARE SPAWN"!

Things it does:

Deal exactly 1 threat
40-yard range
1.5-second cast that can't be kicked or silenced (i.e. physical ability)
Generates a graphical effect like the one shown in the screenshot. It also looks a lot like the Sonic Boom ability from the Blackwing Descent fight Atramedes.

Things it does not do:

Tag mobs (i.e. other players can take the mob and its loot from you if they hit it before you)
Taunt mobs (i.e. it doesn't apply a debuff that prevents mob aggro from leaving you)
Your laundry, etc.

This absolutely does generate some threat or has some kind of taunt. I was just in a group killing sha of anger, we were low on heals so we were struggling. At about 10% left all but about 5 of us were dead, and there were adds everywhere, at least 30 of them I'd say. I used the horn and nearly all of them started chasing me, and kept chasing me for the rest of the fight (I ring of frosted them and frost nova'd and so on), even though some of them had some of their health taken off them by other people and there were healers around healing their asses off and so on.

Tested in Halfhill, does trigger safe-zone guards if within 40 yards of an opposing-faction player. Unsure if PVP flag required for this.

This is an excellent tool for soloing the first boss in BWL (Razorgore).

Dismiss him and use the horn to get almost every mob on you instead of on razorgore.

I highly recommend this item for tanking classes that need to do dailies (assuming you can hold 10+ mobs at the same time). This item only has a 2 minute cooldown, but pulls everything in a 40 yard radius. That means when you need to kill a bunch of mobs in the same area, you can just get in a super high density area and pull ALL THE THINGS. The time I spent camping for this probably will save me more time in the long run, especially if this works in newer xpacs. My Klaxxi dailies took about 10 minutes because all I did was 1) Fly to area 1, blow horn, loot. 2) repeat.

On the subject of Klaxxi dailies, use an AoE augmentation/enhancement if possible. The amount of damage you can put out becomes insane (I was doing well over 1million dps at one point as a blood DK).

DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT! Use this item near places with guards. I tested it out thinking I was safe in the Halfhill market just to find out the opposite is true. Needless to say I died in the most humiliating fashion >.<

Fun fact: you can aggro the Orgrimmar Thieves that you can't normally see unless you're on the quest (Orgrimmar cooking daily). Kinda pointless observation but still, maybe it can be used the same way on other untargetable/hidden mobs? :P

This item proved to be extremely useful for me during a Challenge Mode run in the Stormstout Brewery on my protection warrior, This item + Mocking Banner in the first boss party room can gather a lot of mobs pretty fast,
.... just make sure you use defensive cool downs of course.

The only thing i'm not sure of though is that maybe pulling too many adds can affect the time required to reach the 40/40 boss spawn.

I guess I've got bad luck but drop % says 20 for the horn on here and I've killed this guy 12 times no horn :(

Also the respawn timer for blackhoof seems to be correct at 70-90 minutes although from try #8 to #9 for me I swear it took 3 hours for him to respawn I really don't think someone nabbed him from under me it is possible though. 70-90 minutes seems to be consistent though for you campers.

This thing is AMAZING for aoe grinding. I've been putting off leveling my cooking for quite some time. I decided to finally give in by farming Viande de tortue crue for ironpaw tokens.

I specced Destruction. I then used the battle horn and kept Pluie de feu on everything. This generates a ton of . I used those on . In between and I used .

Six pulls and fifteen minutes later I had 46 Viande de tortue crue. This item made aoe farming the absolute most awesome way to do things.

I just did a ToT LFR where 2 guys were using Noggenfogger Elixir & this horn to aggro bosses over & over . The Looking For Retards raid would then boot everyone BUT them! GG. Such an uber item!

Got this today, and it is #$%^ing AMAZING. My challenge mode group found a great use for this. In the monkey room for Stormstout Brewery, you can pop this in the middle of the room, and aggro the entire room all at once. Makes it 100x easier than trying to go around the room pulling everything seperately. If you got lucky enough to find this on a 85-89 toon, it would be phenomenal for speeding up monkey run times.

This is a very awesome item for the Monkeyruns people commonly do as a form of 85-89 level farming, I farm it on each alt I get to 85 and do Monkeyruns till 89, if you intend on doing Monkeyruns I highly suggest getting this, for the last room pulling it all in 1 go speeds it up

Fun thing to do if your Lvl 90:

Go to the firelands.
Go to the spot for the achievement, King of the Spider-Hill.
Drop down one or two levels.
Use the horn.

You will get dragged around by all the spiders affected at once. I made a little game out of it to see if I could kill each spider I landed by before getting dragged off again.

Very useful for tanks working for Gold Challenge modes. A nifty way to quickly aggro every mob in a room for a quick burn. Assuming those mobs need to be killed of course, for the needed amount.

Use this on the beach on the Timeless Isle, and watch the Hilarity ensue as you are assaulted by dozens of turtles.
Alternately, use it in a raid, along with misdirection on some poor dps or healer, and enjoy watching them get slaughtered before you leave.

~~Another fun thing, since it makes the same sound as npcscan, go to Storm Peaks, find an afk that is camping TLPD, and use it, then run.~~

EDIT: As of the newest update npcscan makes a new sound, most likely to avoid just that

The battlehorn is wonderful farming tool. If you're like me and have the Dépeçage profession on one of your characters then this amazing horn is a must-have item in that character's bag. I actually have mine easily accessible on my top action bar. I acquired it by beating the rare NPC Sabot d’Encre . I finally received the drop on either my 3rd or 4th attempt. On most occasions I've learned to pull two mobs at once at my favorite leather farming spots (see picture under screenshot tab).

As a courtesy to others, I would not recommend to bother "mount drop campers" as I've read in the previous posts. They're gamers just like you and I that are vigilantly awaiting for that precise moment to get the mount they've been anxiously awaiting. That's just simply not cool and could be you one day waiting on a mount. Happy Gaming.

Yeah it may generate a little threat but its a MUST HAVE for tank specs at least (Soo Garrosh adds, or o timeless isle when you want to pull all and every 'Angry Sprite' on their event, and such things...)

If you're doing quests in lowbie zones for Loremeaster, this thing is invaluable during kill quests. Just note that it also aggroes critters, so if you use it in Elwynn you WILL be attacked by fluffy bunnies and sheep.

Amazing tool to help the melee farmers out there!

Pulls a lot of mobs in the Sra'vess farm spot for me on my Warrior. Be warned though, if you don't pay attention you can be killed quite quickly.

Drops from Sabot d’Encre in Vallée des Quatre vents and Gardien de bougie ordon in the Île du Temps figé. Enjoy!

I found waiting for the rare spawn to spawn was taking too long. I went to the Timeless isle and just gathered up a ton of candlekeepers near the bonfire where the big orange Ordon chest is that you can only loot once. The candlekeepers drop rate is a lot lower, but they die fast and respawn quickly. Dropped in the first 20 minutes of going around and aggroing these and aoeing them down.

Easy way to farm this on a low level character

Have a 90 fly you out to Timeless Isle(easiest if you run the fatigue line around the island to end up on the east side; less corpserunning)

Corpserun your way to the middle of the lower level where all the candlekeepers are. I left my body dead in the middle of the largest group of candlekeepers.

Release, and stay in the middle of the area as a ghost. Any time someone in your group kills a mob, you'll be eligible to loot. I personally invited all the rep farmers in the area and offered the group gold if they were in the group when the horn dropped :) You can either pay the rep farmers in the area to grind for you or have a friend do the farming for you, whatever works ^^

Took about half an hour, well worth it for my level 20 warrior that's going to be leveled as a tank!

With the 6.0.2 patch, this item is affected by the WoD Toy Box change.

The Toy Box is one of the big features coming in Warlords of Draenor--you can store all of your vanity items, free up bag space, and use them on any of your characters!

If I heard the "use them on any character" part correctly, any lower level character of yours can now use this item. Will test this later today after the pre-patch is live.

Update: Logged in and my 1st lvl 90 toon showed this in her toy box grayed-out though she had it in her backpack. Logged in moments later with my lvl 90 shaman who had one and his toy box didn't even show the horn. When I mouse-over the grayed out toon's I get a fatal disconnect. Will give it a day or two to let them sort the bug out.

Final Update: Found this list of items from us.battle.net that will be removed from the "Toy Box" but haven't yet.

Be mindful that in patch 6.1 the previous behaviour of it only working on NPCs up to level 93 has been removed.

If you're like me and have been using this in LFRs to ~~scare~~ motivate people, you might find yourself on the quick end of a vote if you "accidentally" use this now.

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

Just a tip for getting this, if you're tired of farming Sabot d’Encre for it, go to Timeless Isle and farm the Gardien de bougie ordon. It dropped for me within an hour of killing them, no more camping Sabot d’Encre waiting for him to spawn!

Je vais avoir besoin d’un plus gros bagage, this was the hardest achievement in Mists of Pandaria.
I got this on the last day of the expansion: 14 December in 2011.
For this achievement I've spend a total of 4 mounths playing 4 hours a day.
This achievement is hardest cause do you need loot rare items from rare mobs.
Even the rares having 30 to 60 minutes spawn the problem here is cause those rares has low hp and die fast, making you lose then.

Another factor that make this achievement hard, is because the items needed has low drop chance.
For example the Rênes de serpent-nuage d'onyx fulminant, this mount has 0.9% drop chance, and was my last item for conclud the achievement.
I've spend a total of 400 trys to loot this mount.

My strategy for don't lose my mind while doing this insane grind was watching one piece while the Huolon doesnt spawn.
The addon called Rare Coordinator was great to track the rare spawn times, but I guess it's doesnt work on Dragonflight, cause you need other players to tracking with you.

Don't forget to use move speed items and teleport to reach rares faster.
