This is one of the few low-level potions that is useful in the end game. The extra resistance from this is tremendously useful for raid bosses such as Hydross the Unstable that do large amounts of magic damage. This potion is also very cheap to make. Tanks, who will be getting healing anyway, can use it instead of armor or health potions.

It's also a nice boost for heroic Pandemonius, who can be beaten only with enough shadow resistance on the tank.

Equates roughly to the following:

Level / Magic Damage Reduction %
80 / 9.38%
70 / 10.73%
60 / 12.50%
50 / 15.02%
40 / 18.80%
32 / 23.45%

Note that the above is assuming the caster is the same level as you, and that the caster has no spell penetration. Also note that there is a maximum of 75% magic damage reduction through resistances.

Stacks with Lesser Flask of Resistance, but does not stack with Mark of the Wild.

To the best of my searching any lvl 60 player that can wear mail and carry 2 hand weps and bows can amass 304 Nature Resistance not including buffs but including potions, food buffs, and enchantments. Plus an additional 50 for 3 min and 40 for 20 seconds. Making a grand total of 394 nature resistance from consumables, enchantments and gear. I assume with level 60 buffs you could get to about 450 quite possible higher.

With resistances being phased out, this seems to have been removed from alchemist's recipe lists in patch 5.1.0. but it possibly was removed in an earlier patch.

The Flask of Chromatic Resistance recipe was also removed, for the same reason.
