Remember to use this on a dead wildkin, not a "Fallen Wildkin".
I spent at least 15 minutes finding "Fallen Wildkins"...

The Use: effect looks like a purplish nova spell.

Don't forget to loot the corpse before you use it, though! Although it says it "shrinks" the target, it actually just makes it completely go away.

I believe this was changed with the last patch - Doesn't work on wildkin anymore. Now it's Ironfur Bears and Longtooth Runners.

xP I was doing this quest without reading it. "WHY WON'T IT WORK! D:"

as an added note, the cooldown has been reduced to 1 sec.

If you have this quest, or any of the Muisek quests, there is a bug that makes you unable to loot mobs. When you mouse over a dead mob, the loot icon will be grayed out like you are too far away.
