Wowhead: Glyphs and Spells, Together at Last!
2009-06-01 à 00:09
Glyphs that modify "Mend Pet"If you've ever wondered if there was a glyph that affected your
Boule de feu
spell and what it did, you've probably been scouring a filtered list of mage glyphs in an effort to answer that question. We here at Wowhead were not satisfied with that as a solution, so we've made the task easier!\r
Pages for spells that can be modified by glyphs (such as
) will now have a tab called "Modified By" which lists all of the glyphs that can alter the spell. Conversely, glyph items (such as
Glyphe de stature réduite
) will now have a tab called "Modifies" which lists all ranks of the spell that it alters, allowing you to quickly review the spell and its normal effects.\r
Now, get out there and start inscribing!
A Mountain Dew/WoW Contest
2009-05-29 à 17:10
A while back Blizz said that special "WoW themed" Mountain Dews would be released this summer. Well, it looks like they're finally here\u2014and to kick it off, they are having a contest! Do the Dew\r
This summer, we're teaming up with Mtn Dew to offer World of Warcraft-themed Game Fuel in stores across the US. To celebrate, the Game Fuel website is giving away a prize every 15 minutes, beginning today and running until August 20. The prizes include Alienware computers, Razer peripherals, and more. For a chance to win, just visit the site, earn tokens, and then enter them in the sweepstakes of your choice. A 14-day free trial of World of Warcraft is also available through the site -- perfect for anyone in your life who hasn't gotten a taste of the game yet. Check out the FAQ, read the official rules, or head over to the Game Fuel website to register and start bidding on your favorite prizes. And keep an eye out for bottles of World of Warcraft Mtn Dew Game Fuel to show up in stores near you beginning next week.\r

Making Those Tough Decisions In-Game
2009-05-29 à 17:00
With apologies to ArideniRecently a user, who insisted on anonymity, approached me on IRC and asked me for in-game advice. Not knowing what he was going to ask, I blindly agreed and he explained the situation to me. Basically, he was having a hard time contemplating as to whether he should purchase an heirloom bow to benefit his level 40 hunter or if he should save his valor badges to upgrade his level 80 Death Knight's gear. Bear in mind that his level 40 hunter was his first character ever and that he plans on leveling him up to 80 at some point, and his Death Knight is his main character that's well-geared.\r
Much to my surprise, I was able to give him what he called the "best piece of advice someone could ever give" in spite of the fact that I have very little experience with WoTLK content.
Firefox Persona for Wowhead
2009-05-28 à 12:26
Unlike most of my blogs, this one is going to be very short, for all I bring after almost a week of no Internet, is just news about something little I created. \r
If you use Firefox, you might have noticed that recently a new feature was released - Personas. Personas are like small skins for your Firefox browser - they only change the header (the area where all the buttons are, along with the search and address bars) and footer (the little area on the very bottom of your Mozilla). You only need to Download + Install the plug-in, and then you are free to use any Persona from the Gallery by simply clicking on it. No restart, no installation needed.\r
Well, now that I have familiarized you with this feature, here is the news - I have made a little (and very simple!) Persona for Wowhead.

Taking a Break Can Ease Challenges
2009-05-20 à 23:47
Overcoming challengesHave any of you taken a MMO vacation recently? I know I have. Sometimes you need some time away from things to clear your head. Maybe catch up on a few chores or errands you put off recently. I remember last playing World of Warcraft a few months ago. I was working on an achievement which was timed. I thought it was really fun, but it was kind of hard at the time, too.\r
Whether I'm trying to pull off a huge combo in a skateboarding game or trying to solve a riddle in a role-playing game I feel as though my work would be complete if only I could achieve that one special goal. Of course, it seldom happens that way for me.
