Patch 4.1 - PTR Build 13682 - New and Updated Icons
24/02/2011 à 07:45
Ah, it's that time again - time for fresh and awesome picture-y goodness, including a delicious sneak peek at the upcoming Firelands raid bosses - Alysra, Fandral Staghelm and Ragnaros! Cataclysm players who have quested in Hyjal might remember these NPCs - the first being a green dragon questgiver, possibly corrupted or endangered in some way, the second being the notorious Fandral Staghelm (who needs no introduction, really) and finally everyone's favorite firelord, Ragnaros! Are you excited yet?
In addition, we've got Zul'Gurub boss achievement icons, for High Priestess Skilnara, Jin'do and Zanzil, as well as a ton of new item icons for upcoming Firelands raid and Heroic Zul'Gurub / Zul'Aman loot -
In total, we found
new or updated icons in the current PTR build!
Be sure to check 'em all out after the break!

Patch 4.0.6 Next Week!
04/02/2011 à 19:24
I know we were wrong
about when we thought 4.0.6 was going to drop, but this time we're definitely lead us to believe that Patch 4.0.6 will be dropping onto live realms during maintenance next week!
be wrong again (and if I am you can feel free to blame me personally and send me angry emails) - but this time we're 99% sure! The patch (a moderate 141mb) has just hit Blizzard's download servers, which means we'll most likely see it piped into our Background Downloader with the upcoming Tuesday maintenance!
Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to weekly maintenance!

28/01/2011 à 23:26
An interesting blog showed up in our RSS readers and (for a brief moment) on the official World of Warcraft website. This placeholder blog post, which obviously wasn't supposed to go live (oops), features none other than the Patch 4.0.6 Official Notes! Blizzard are obviously getting ready to post these official patch notes - does this mean the patch is coming next week? Hopefully!

PTR Patch 4.0.6 Notes
PTR Patch 4.0.6 Notes Updated (1/28)
28/01/2011 à 22:20
Just a quick batch of Friday night PTR patch notes updates! Notable changes include:
Attacking forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control 2 keeps.
Defending forces will receive a 200% capture speed bonus when they control all 3 keeps.
Normal PvE helms (item level 359) no longer have a chance to drop from Nefarian or Cho'gall on Heroic difficulty. Instead, the Heroic PvE helm and shoulder pieces (item level 372) only require their associated Crown/Shoulders of the Forlorn tokens to purchase, and do not require players to obtain the normal helms or shoulders first.
As always, you can find the full patch notes right here on Wowhead!
Be sure to check out the full list of tonight's changes after the break!
PTR Patch Changes and Additions (Jan 27)
27/01/2011 à 14:32
A mini PTR patch snuck its way onto the servers, and we've got the latest spell changes! There's nothing incredibly mindblowing and not nearly as many changes as
. Notable changes include:
Criteria changes to Master of Tol Barad achievements
) Mana cost reductions to
(both now cost 9% base mana)
You probably won't believe me when I say that's basically it, so be sure to check out the full list of changes after the break!
PTR Patch Changes and Additions - Artifact Sell Prices Changed, Again
25/01/2011 à 13:15
Today's PTR patch brought only a few class changes, mostly those which were
added to the official patch notes
yesterday. We have the latest spell diffs as well as
values for artifacts in patch 4.0.6! As it was stated in the patch notes:
The sell value of all common artifacts has been doubled, while a small subset of common artifacts have had their sell value increased far beyond that.
This excited many players who were put off by the fact that most
artifacts are currently (basically) worthless. In this latest PTR patch, Blizzard has changed the sell price of many artifacts (yet again), increasing most common artifacts to values well over ! It's also worth mentioning, however, that the
Parole de l'impératrice Zoe
(which had many players excited over its previously reported sell value) has had its sell value reduced to . Oh, well.
We've got the latest spell diffs for you guys, as well as
PTR Patch 4.0.6 Notes Updated! JP From Level 85 Normals and more!

The PTR Patch 4.0.6 notes have been updated yet again, with some
Level-85 dungeon bosses in

The daily Random Dungeon reward on normal difficulty has been increased to
Points de justice
, up from 0
Points de justice
Players no longer need to discover Cataclysm dungeon entrances in order to access them via the Dungeon Finder.
These changes will probably cause a lot of "omg catering to casuals lol" forum rage, but for those of us who
conveniences rather than feeling as though we constantly need to be challenged (such as by having to fly ALL THE WAY to a dungeon entrance to "discover it"), they're definitely welcome changes! Yeah, I get it, it makes things easier but c'mon, get real - it wasn't exactly some huge challenge or marvelous feat in the first place. I haven't even wanted to level my warrior (for whom I wanted to use the Dungeon Finder to victory) just because I don't feel like going to discover al
