Corruption Values Are Now Static on the 8.3 PTR
27/11/2019 à 23:41
We've been researching Corruption gear on the 8.3 PTR and we're now confident that Corruption Values were made static within their Affix Tiers. This removes one layer of RNG from the Corruption System.
Everything About Corrupted Items guide!
Ion Hazzikostas tweeted
that the Corruption Values would become static. While this was not implemented for several builds, after doing some recent research on the PTR, we're now confident that Static values are now implemented on the PTR.
- 10 Corruption (was 5 - 10 Corruption)
- 17 Corruption (was 12 - 17 Corruption)
- 25 Corruption (was 20 - 25 Corruption)
These are all taken from this build 32593 as some examples:
Layers of RNG
There are now only 3 layers of RNG regarding the Corruption system instead of 4:
Did your Item Corrupt?
Which Positive Affix did your Corrupt Item Roll?
Which Tier did the Positive affix roll?
We found that Corrupted Items were relatively common, more common that a Warforged or Titanforged piece. This is subject to change in future builds, but the gear from Assaults and Horrific Visions seems to Corrupt fairly often. But since Corruption isn't the full story, there's still some RNG in the system, though less so. Your 3% Haste Bracers will have the same Corruption rolls
Bug - Bracers from Uldum Assault
There's a bug on the PTR currently that causes an Item to have +5 Corruption from a T3 Affix and occasionally double Corrupt.
Bracers that drop from the Uldum Assault are bugged to drop with a +5 Corruption T3 Crit Affix which is the only piece of Gear that we've seen that does not follow the rules above. This is consistent and it's always this affix from this Assault which makes us think it's a bug.
These Bracers can also randomly proc a second Corruption affix in addition to the T3 Crit Affix above. This second affix will follow the regular static value rules seen above, but an Item is not supposed to be able to double Corrupt and is a bug.
Both of these appear to be bugs with a specific set of Bracers from the Uldum Assault.
