Dratnos and Tettles Discuss New Boosting Policy and Cross-Faction Coming to WoW
06/02/2022 à 07:24
In this week's GG WoW video, Dratnos and Tettles discuss two changes in policy that have been announced in this past week!
The first has to do with Boosting Communities, which are now
no longer allowed to operate in World of Warcraft
. Boosts themselves remain allowed but most of the behavior that led to trade chat getting fully spammed has been prohibited, including
advertising by characters that aren't the ones doing the boosting
. It remains to be seen if there are any further clarifications, as there's still some grey area left in the wording, but the effects of this change have been immediately apparent as Trade Chat has once again returned to linking
Lame-tonnerre, épée bénie du Cherchevent
and, uh, other discussions.
Blizzard also made a massive announcement about the future of Factions in World of Warcraft when they said that
cross faction gameplay would be coming to patch 9.2.5
. This means that players will be able to group up for dungeons, raids, and pvp with people of the opposite faction, though it won't be forced on anyone using the automatic group tools, and group finder groups will have the option to not appear to members of the opposite faction. It remains to be seen exactly how this will be implemented for Mythic raiding, but for now we know that guilds will remain faction- and server- locked as they are right now, which likely will anchor many players to their guilds. Others, however, will be able to switch to the faction that is more appealing to them and/or play with people on the other faction and expand their network and the type of content that they can engage with. Overall, Dratnos and Tettles see this as a fantastic change and are excited by the possibility to see it expanded further to guilds if it works out well initially.
