Ember Court Tutorial
The quest chain starts off at Theotar in the Venthyr Covenant Sanctum with
Une nouvelle réception
where you head around to various members of the Venthyr to help recruit them to open the Ember Court. One of the members that you recruit is
, the Party Herald and you'll eventually meet outside in Sinfall to turn in the quest.
will then offer
La répétition de la cour des Braises
allowing you to participate in you first Ember Court! This will take place in a scenario and will act as a tutorial, explaining how Court Atmosphere and Guest happiness work.
The Ember Court Explained - Venthyr Covenant Weekly Activity
After the tutorial, you then have access to the full suite of Ember Court systems, which complicates things. The Ember Court can only be played
once a week
(but can be done once a day on the Beta).
is the main objective of the Ember Court. There are 5 different types of Court Atmospheres that are rated simultaneously and these will be shown on a bar on the right side of your screen:
: Messy or Clean
: Safe or Dangerous
: Humble or Decadent
: Relaxing or Exciting
: Casual or Formal
To change your Court Atmosphere, you'll run around the Court and try to find different activities that you can accomplish. Each of these activities will show how they change your Court Atmosphere when you complete them. Here are some examples.
Cleaning up Rubble will show +Clean on the tooltip
Helping the Accuser accuse souls will show +Formal on the tooltip
Finding some Faulty Fireworks shows +Safe and +Dangerous, allowing you to choose an option depending on how you want to change your Atmosphere.
Before you start your Weekly Ember Court, you have to take formalize your Guest List. Prince Renethal recommends Guests for this week's Ember Court and you have to go find them in the World and ask them to RSVP. Once you do so, they'll appear in your Ember Court!
Each Guest that you invite has a preferred Court Atmosphere. It's important to look at the Guest List and try to make sure that your Guests don't have opposing Court Atmospheres (e.g. one likes Safe and one likes Dangerous).
If you don't like a Guest, you can use a
on a guest to make Prince Renethal choose another one but in the example, both the guests like Exciting and there are no other conflicts. Seems like a good guest list to me!
Once in the Ember Court guests have varying levels of happiness. From worst to best: Miserable, Uncomfortable, Happy, Very Happy, Elated.
Entertainment and Refreshments
Not only do you get to choose your guests, you also get to choose the
of this week's Ember Court.
choice will affect your Court Atmosphere a different way. As each Guest prefers a certain Court Atmosphere, it's important to match your Entertainment and Refreshment choices to your Guests!
Here are some possible Entertainment options. Since our guests prefer both Decadence and Exciting, we have a clear winner for entertainment: Lost Chalice Band!
Here are some possible Refreshment options. Relaxing is the opposite of Exciting, and Humble is the opposite of Decadence so the Divine Desserts seems like the best option!
Once everything is set up, it's time to actually participate in the Ember Court. You have 2 minutes before the guests arrive and then 8 minutes afterwards before the Court closes and the Court Atmosphere is locked.
Large events will be marked with the "Rare Star" on the minimap, giving you some direction, but there are also smaller clickables that you can complete that are more hidden.
Here's the objectives that I found during this Ember Court example:
Set up the band stage (+Exciting) and find the Band's lost instruments (+Exciting)
Catch pieces of Theotar's Tea Set, allowing us to serve special tea to one of our Guests (+Bonus Happiness)
Clean up rubble around the Court (+Clean)
Start a Food Fight (+Messy, +Decadent)
Defeat Necromancer Assassins and bring their heads to the Baroness Vashj (+Bonus Happiness)
Teach an NPC how to dance (+Decadent)
Defeat a Rare Provocateur for some Court Gossip (+Relaxing OR +Exciting depending on what you do with it)
Help a waiter serve refreshments (+Decadent)
Once the time is up, you're awarded a score based on your Court activities and shown your Court's total Atmosphere and Guest Happiness. Prince Renathal will then make a speech thanking the guests and summarizing the events that took place during the Court.
Prince Renathal: Thank you all for attending the Ember Court!
Baroness Vashj: You hold an impressive court, Prince. Perhaps this isn't a lost cause afterall.
Choofa: No! Don't make us leave! It's such fun here!
Prince Renathal: I loved every moment we have shared together today...
Prince Renathal: The wild and spontaneous food fights during refreshments,
Prince Renathal: The beautiful dancing inspired by the Lost Chalice Band's music.
Prince Renathal: As you depart, know that you and yours are always welcome at Sinfall.
Prince Renathal: Together we will lead Revendreth, and all of the Shadowlands, into a more just, stable, and prosperous future.
Temel: If you require specialized transportation back to your homes, it will be provided!
You then get to loot the Tribute from your guests based on their happiness! In this Ember Court, I got
Graine de liane
Décret : bienveillance de la baronne Vashj
